Well, I've learned my lesson: don't bother adding text to posts that contain pictures as the text part is seemingly ignored.

You are semi-correct though (were people expecting something elaborate when I only spent a couple minutes tweaking and testing?). I upped contrast, added a little saturation, and then increased the light caused by the sun; however these settings only occur during certain times and locations. That is the crucial point.
 
If you guys haven't tried the Immersive HUD yet...I highly recommend it. It hides all the HUD elements until you actually need them, and really does make it much more immersive without that screen clutter.

i tried that once but at the time it hid your crosshair so looting was a pita. Have they added an option for this?

If you install it via mod manager, you can customize each aspect of the hud. I believe you can chose always on, or else chose which parameters activate certain hud elements (attack, health/stamina/magika use, etc.)
 
There is a cfg you can edit as well to bring back your crosshair. I was just playing for about 3 hours with Immersive HUD and didn't like NOT seeing my crosshair. Reenabled it in the cfg.

Has there been a mod, to anyones knowledge, that stops guards from taking you to jail if you pay your own fine?

I didn't even know I had stolen goods on me and I had a random guard walk up to me and take me all the way to Riften. Of which I now can't get out of fast enough cause it makes me want to kill the whole town. Bunch of douchebags in this town..

CK been released with a Highres texture pack. Over 3GB apparently. At work so I can't download and chances are it'll take all night for me to download it. Hope to see some screens soon enough.
 
3 GB for the textures? That guarantees it's better than any of the quite commendable texture mods that have been done thus far I would think.

I'm thinking of actually trying my hand at a few mods. I think I'll finish my second playthrough as a mage (holy crap it's so much harder than playing sword and board), then start.

I'm wondering that,too. I suspect what I'm going to do is disable them all (not delete off machine) and go clean with this and see what's what.

Most likely that is what will have to happen. And then install the mods that are better then the official texture pack afterwards.

This weekend I spent a fair amount of time getting STEP setup, this might make a lot of that content a moot point.

Exactly what I'm going to do. This will be my foundation. What will be interesting is to see if I even feel the need to add anything or not.

Eh, not sure I'd say it "guarantees" anything. Higher resolution textures does not necessarily mean better looking textures.

True, but as you know, none of the texture packs off skyrimnexus have been complete. I'm hoping it's 3gb not because they're ulta high-res, but instead that every single texture in the game has been improved.

The 3GB is nothing but a photorealistic naked chick mod. ;)

Also, is it just me or are all the naked chick mods pretty creepy, considering you'll only see them after looting a dead body? "Ooh...hot dead chick." :eek:

Oh, well, uhm, if thats the case... lol. I didn't see the screens on Steam to begin with so I wasn't sure if they were updated or originals. My bad.

Ya kinda assume though, screens for a High Resolution Texture pack would include the high res textures. Could be too logical heh.

Double posting.

If ya have the naked chick mods, there are a few NPC hunters that are bathing in some Skyrim natural hot tubs that you can gawk at for a while.

Edit: Should have just done this with my first post. But if any of you complain about some crappy download speeds. I will buy a case of beer, find you, smack you, and then have a beer with you. I read speeds of ~100Kb/s. That is my download speed NOW, at all times, every single day of the week. lol I remain jealous and envious of your better internet.

Won't get any complaints from me. I use a Sprint 3G card for my Internet connection at home, so I'm in the same boat.

Wouldn't be the first time I've bought a large group of people I didn't know drinks/shots just cause I was having a good time. Especially if said group contains bridesmaids!
 
According to Joystiq, there's supposed to be a "starter" mod on the workshop that adds Wheatley (from Portal 2) as a companion option. Got pulled temporarily for some reason.

Did you hook up & continue to be in working relationship with any of said bridesmaids? If so, you have a good formula for success.
 
Just did a quick comparison and I'm not really noticing an improvement over my current Skyrim. I am using practically every user made texture pack and body mod and my initial impression is that I prefer the user made stuff over Bethesda's.

If there's a way to combine them both I'll use it, otherwise I'll just stick to the user made content.

Yes to the first. No to the second. Apparently, as it seems, some single bridesmaids don't want to be single for very long. Whereas, single drunk guy, wants to continue being single drunk guy hooking up with other bridesmaids.

I've read a couple people that managed to get this downloaded having about the same results. I don't think there will be any real comparison until there are some genuine back to back comparison shots with vanilla textures and the HD new ones. Especially if you were already using a modded HD texture pack as it is.

I'd compare it to changing from a DVI cable to HDMI. How much difference would you notice, right from the get go?

Disappointing that there isn't much difference to be seen. :(

Although when I think about it, the main texture pack I'm already using is 2GB, add in face, eyes, lips mod, plants mod, better windows, other graphical mods I can't remember, I guess I shouldn't expect too much improvement unfortunately.

Bad comparison. The video signal of DVI and HDMI are the same, so there won't be any difference.
