Retail Edge 2007!

Not open for further replies.
Tomorrow and I only have 10025 points...I think I'm gonna hold out for 12k for the Q6700!

Then I'm out of luck! That's why I'm trying to get one of the codes so I can get more chips! They are given at Live Events and are universal codes. PM me if anyone has one!

I had employmeny verified @ last live event.
Will it show up tomorrow or they will make us wait a while?

In spite of buying from Retail Edge a few times now, i can't remember when it opened?

As in, do they start it @ midnite, or does the option to register for it not happen till sometime later in the day?

According to the Terms and Conditions it was supposed to start on or about 12:01am EST on Nov, 5th. It's past that by 15 minutes so I wonder how loose they use the term about?

Someone didn't adjust for daylight savings time...tisk tisk tisk intel

Hmm, still nothing & it's 10.56p, MST.

I would give them 24 hours to get it up but I bet that it will be up by 10AM EST. Do you think that they would keep people up, and PAY them, just for one minor event to update the web page? I don't think so.

Pay people? Intel isn't run like your local Best Buy.

1. Intel is a global company, they have staff working around the clock, probably very few people second and third shift, mostly first shift in there own time zone. London, Bangalore, China, etc. Someone is always staffing their infrastructure.

2. At most it would be either one salaried (not being paid because he doesn't punch a clock) employee coping in a few web pages or changing the virtual web path to a new web directory. They could also automate a scheduled task which could copy over the necessary web pages and assuming they are using IIS run the CLI to cycle the service.

3. I'd be surprised if woot.com didn't automate there three websites every night seeing as exactly at 12:00am CST the new product goes on sale. Much less I highly doubt staffing for 24 or 48 hours during a woot-off to keep the pages changing.

4. If this was AMD they would innovate and fine the way! heh heh (I have to get my intel jab in.)

According, to the website the form is only to verify your employment. They go on to say,

"Once your employment is verified, a Purchase Code will be sent to your e-mail address. You can use the code to order your bundle on the Shop IntelSM Web site."

Has anyone got their code my email?

If anyone's decided not to get this year's bundle, LMK. I'd like to buy a code off of someone; I already have enough points, but don't work retail.

I saw that but nothing in email, I had though that last year you still click on the website, got the code in the mail, then went to purchase.

This year is different due to the process of faxing the verification info over this time, so its hard to say.

Based on the past few years, a email would be sent out stating the promo purchasing was happening. Which at the same time a "buy" icon would be displayed on the website. I remember it happening in the early afternoon as well.

Shouldn't be too much longer.

We had an Intel Live Event last night in Houston, TX. They told us that if you registered for the event online, consider your employment verified and they would send you the code. However, those who did not register online for the event would have to wait at least 24hrs. I'm hoping this is true.:D

Coming up on 1pm EST. If I didn't have all my other new parts sitting on the shelf for this I wouldn't be so jittery about getting one. It's just getting harder and harder to wait.

Same here everything is mostly assembled too

FYI from IREPP terms & conditions:
  • Method of payment is limited to: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or debit cards with Visa or MasterCard logo.
  • Applicable sales tax needs to be added for all states EXCEPT Alaska, Delaware, District of Columbia, Louisiana, Maine, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
  • For Canadian Residents: GST and applicable duties remain the responsibility of the purchaser.
  • Purchaser is responsible for all shipping & handling charges when purchasing the bundle.
  • Allow 6-8 weeks for delivery – delivery may take longer for Canadian Residents.
Sales tax, shipping costs and the shipping time sucks big time.

Remember you can visit the "Toolbox" once every day and earn some points. That's what I ended up doing to push myself over the 12,000 mark. Last year the hardest part was getting through on their damn fax line. The thing was busy ALL DAY the first few days of the registration period. Once I got my fax in they had me verified in 24 to 48 hours. Plus you still have time to earn points. They usually throw in a few training courses and tests to help people that are close get in at the last minute. So, if you're within 3000 to 4000 points you still may be able to make enough by the end of the year.

Anyway, 2:15PM EST and still nada.

Dang yall got the forum loaded. I, here too am waiting for the site to change. We just had a live event in Houston last night and our Intel rep said he's gonna verify all that attended so we don't have to mess with the fax. Also, for those who remember I had an un-gawdly chip count last year ( like 29,000 or so) I have'nt let yall down this year. Current chip count 25,750. for those with Best Buy, check the chip count scale. That's me, the max chain chip earner. :D

Yeah, I couldn't remember how many of the downloads counted per month. It's 200 chips a crack so if you're close it can help.

Site is updating right now. This is good news for those of you who were impatient.

But, there is no need to be impatient really. They said it will take 6 to 8 weeks to receive the equipment.

Right now I'm thinking........."why bother?"

In 6 to 8 weeks, far better processors will be available.

yeah, I wish there would be something for us
Last year it was a hard styerfoam plaque for the 20K club
WOOHOO

Local Intel rep said it should be delivered within 2 weeks but if you wait till next week, may take 3-4

the 6-8 weeks is the standard disclaimer

also, better processor may be out for sure, but the price of the Q6700 will still be about $400-$450 or more

And the tool box downloads are 4 a month @ 100 chips each

Shouldn't matter to me really. I am going to have to wait another month to be able to afford the rest of the hardware I want because the CPU, (don't feel like putting $2,000 on a credit card) and then I'll have to find time to put it all together.

Who am I kidding, I'll lose sleep to build a new computer. :p

I guess I'll be bringing my pay-stub into work today so I can get it faxed in early.

I got my 400 from toolbox this month already
I'm sure of it along with the 4 logins @ 100 chips each

While we wait, lets talk about what we are going to make with the processors:

Registered and faxed the form about 30/40mins ago (Been waiting for an Admin to approve my account here). I loaded the page from another browser and it still says updating. I must have logged in just prior to them taking down the login page.

For people logged in already you can get the new Challenge for 1000 and Article for 250.

Do you have the form for the verification? Also please post the FAX number if you have it. Might as well get it done while waiting for the update.
