Fallout 4

VIve le Vive?

It's about time, we need at least a few AAA games out there to kickstart VR adaptation.

Good thing or a bad thing? And any idea if this re-release is going to be retroactive (IE free for current owners) or going to be charged?

Post from them. "If you own #Skyrim and all its add-ons or own Legendary Edition on Steam, you'll get a free upgrade to Skyrim Special Edition on Oct 28"

New Fallout DLC looks good and not a long wait. Don't really care about Skyrim anymore. If they added new content then I would be interested in it.

Nuka World official desc:
Take a trip to Nuka-World, a vast amusement park now a lawless city of Raiders. Explore an all-new region with an open wasteland and park zones like Safari Adventure, Dry Rock Gulch, Kiddie Kingdom and the Galactic Zone. Nuka-World features new quests, Raiders, weapons, creatures and more. Enjoy the ride!

Best hopeful speculation I've seen so far is that Nuka World itself is just the hub town, the entire DLC could feature a larger map like Far Harbor. Your character might also be able to join the Raiders.
It's also possible the entire DLC is JUST Nuka World, and you go around mindlessly murdering more Raiders while playing stupid carnival mini-games.

So my question is, is this going to break all existing mods for Skyrim by doing this?

Back on Fallout...DLC looks okay but they are really pushing the "stuff" packs for Workshop. Starting to feel a bit like The Sims.

Glad to see the robust support for Fallout 4 continue.

As for DLC: Far Harbor was excellent. If they surprise us in another six months or so with something else like that, that would be wonderful. I hope they do. There is a lot they can still do here as far as I'm concerned.

This seriously made me LOL. Thanks for the laugh. :ROFLMAO:

Dibs on the giant stuffed Deathclaw!

Bring on The Broadsider to Skyrim! What? No? But, but, but...Skyrim has canons on their ships... :p

So my question is, is this going to break all existing mods for Skyrim by doing this?

As I posted on NexusMods.com:

As a avid settlement builder I look forward to the incoming workshop DLCs. Marcy will be the prime test subject for Contraptions since she has a negative attitude that needs adjusting. :D

Nuka World has also piqued my interest as it appears to be story based. From the E3 showing it would seem there is another vault to explore which I am definitely looking forward to.

Yeah, I guess it's just a personal preference. I don't have much interest in more Workshop stuff, but I can see why some people want it.

There was a question posed on Bethesda.net which I responded to. Here is the full text:

I purchased Fallout 4 due to several reasons...

I'm a long time player and modder of the Fallout Series. Fell in love with Fallout 1. Fallout 2 only increased the addiction. Fallout 3 was a complete game changer. Instead of turn-based we were now thrust into a world of FPS which greatly enhanced the series. Then came the DLC which only drew me in further. Fallout: New Vegas was no different. The main story and side stories were more than enough to keep me entertained for a over a thousand hours of gameplay.

When hints of Fallout 4 were let loose, whether intentional or not, I wanted to find as much information as possible to see if FO4 would be a appropriate addition to the series. When Bethesda showcased FO4 at E3 one year ago I was hooked with line and sinker. The tidbits of the story, as presented at E3, made me feel confident that FO4 would indeed fall in-line with the series. Pre-ordered FO4 and after playing for many hours since release ordered the Season Pass on November 15, 2015. I haven't been disappointed with the DLC Bethesda has released so far.

Automatron added options to either create new robots or modify existing robots with the only limit being my imagination. The story was of one which implementing well-armed robots in settlement defenses is, for all intrinsic purposes, a god send. I no longer have to worry whether or not a settlement can defend itself especially when there is an army of Sentry Bots and/or Assaultrons standing guard duty.

As a edumacated Redneck living on the edge of the Pacific Ocean, Far Harbor drew me in completely. The main story, the side quests, the environment and the faction stories were well crafted. I related to Far Harbor as the fishing industry in the area I live, albeit from a different enemy, are facing hardships in various forms. Far Harbor storylines, in a sense, related to real-life people who depend upon traveling the waters and catching whatever the can within limits they are bound by. Then again, the virtual world and physical world are two different entities.

As of this writing I currently have 1,948 hours invested into Fallout 4. To say I'm enjoying what Bethesda has provided is a definite understatement. I'm content with purchasing FO4 and Season Pass. FO4 has met my expectations and, in certain areas, surpassed what I expected.

==================

As of this moment I'm working on the non-SK mod install guide. The guide has gone through several revisions and is currently on version 1.122. The reason for the multiple revisions is due to reading the initial version and realizing I sounded like a total dickhead. Subsequent versions still read the same so I revised where appropriate. It isn't my intent to offend anyone but to offer a guide to those who want to mod FO4 yet are afraid to do so.

I am currently working on refining the first part of the non-SK install guide to lay the solid ground for modding Fallout 4. To prove I'm not talking out of my ass here is a partial screencap of the first part of the document:

Nuka world updated

Take a trip to Nuka-World, a vast amusement park now a lawless city of Raiders. Explore an all-new region with an open wasteland and park zones like Safari Adventure, Dry Rock Gulch, Kiddie Kingdom, and the Galactic Zone. Lead lethal gangs of Raiders and use them to conquer settlements, bending the Commonwealth to your will. Nuka-World features new quests, Raiders, weapons, creatures, and more. Enjoy the ride!

This is what the Special Edition Pip-Boy should have been:

No way am I paying $300 for it though.

Fallout 4 updated to 1.5.307.

If you use F4SE then you'll have to wait until they release an update as the current version only supports up to 1.5.205.

Make sure to update any F4SE plugins as necessary. I'm currently watching Achievements and Place Everywhere for updates.

That's cheating ^_^
I have a thing for jetpacks.

WM7b2Wb.gif

I'm also using a mod that removes the AP cost from the jetpack, as well as removing the height/accel limits. So I can fly as much as I want, as high as I want. Because jetpacks are AWESOME. I've got War on the Commonwealth turned up to 11 to keep things interesting.

A few observations regarding update 1.5.307:

1. It seems I can now scrap certain objects within various settlements that I couldn't scrap previous to .307. At County Crossing there are three brambles and hedge that I could scrap whereas I wasn't able to prior to the update. Still unable to scrap buses outside of the settlement area but that is another issue entirely.

2. Unsure of whether this is just a coincidence or a result of the new patch but I'll post it anyways to see if anyone else experienced the same situation. After completing Old Guns and roughly a half-dozen settlement quests, in earlier playthroughs the Defend the Castle mission would trigger. Ever since 1.5.157 through 1.5.205 the DtC mission wouldn't trigger until well over a dozen settlement missions were completed. In this particular playthrough, shortly after patch 1.5.307 was installed, I had only completed two settlement quests when the DtC triggered.

3. Far Harbor seems to have received a performance increase as I'm running on average 4 fps higher than I was previous to the patch. No new mods were installed nor existing mods updated after .205.

4. For some odd reason settlers in the half-dozen settlements (Sanctuary, Abernathy Farms, Tenpines Bluff, Sunshine Tidings COOP, Starlight Drive-in, Taffington Boathouse) I checked had stopped what they were doing and did nothing for a solid 1/2 day game time after which they then continued with their assigned tasks.

5. For the same settlements listed in # 4, looking at the population and happiness on the map then running to the settlement itself the numbers matched. Step in the right direction.

That's all I've noticed for now.

Edit: One other thing... Jekod created Pool Rack Fix mod. I love it!

Hah...the pool ball thing was always a peeve of mine because I collected them.

That looks fantastic! Mind if I ask what your mod list was to get it looking like that?

The bulk of it is True Storms, Photorealistic Commonwealth(using Kodachrome preset) and various 2K texture packs. I'll post the full list tonight when I get home from work.

I noticed in that interview Todd said that Nuka World would be the last DLC for FO4....
That is disappointing but also surprises me. I felt the game has been a good success so assumed they would continue to put out more content for it. Maybe the numbers for the DLC so far haven't been as good as they hoped.

Same reaction here. No idea what the sales figures are, though.

I appreciate it. :) I'm mainly just interested in graphical improvements. Has it been decently stable for you with your mod list?

Not a single crash with 75+ mods. Very stable compared to Skyrim.

Lucky you, I'm running about 50 plugins according to NMM and these days I'm crashing every ~30mins on average. Spontaneous crashes, too. Impossible to troubleshoot.
Around 20-30 crashes so far, I've just been dealing with it (lots of quicksaving).

You wimps. :ROFLMAO: :p

No CTDs, blue screens or any other anomalies.

Edit: Running ReShade and ENB as well

Still have another 160+ mods to install to get back-up to speed...

btw... :D
