lol at ultra nightmare settings, yeah thats normal. dont know when/why everyone started expecting 100% max settings to be easy on a card...View attachment 728906
I think this is interesting - only the 4090 and 5090 are able to average > 60fps at 4K.
Everybody expected their 1080 Ti to last forever.lol at ultra nightmare settings, yeah thats normal. dont know when/why everyone started expecting 100% max settings to be easy on a card...
Haha who cares what IGN says. This will be on GP in 2 days.I don't know man IGN gave Doom Eternal a 9/10
It was, but I don't remember the chainsaw fuel being such an issue. Conceptually, its not the worst thing but the three charges of chainsaw fuel combined with the low ammo carrying capacity makes the whole system a chore to use.The same chainsaw mechanic was in 2016.
9070 xt is ready, Im assuming fsr 4 is available for this one.
yeah, fuck ign and all the "gaming" sites these days. buncha clowns now...
In Doom 2016 you have a max of 7 "ammo" for chainsaw, with different enemies taking different amounts of "ammo", with the biggest being the Barons of Hell which take like 5 or 6 ammo to chainsaw. In Doom Eternal you only have 3 "ammo" for the chainsaw (if you used your last one it would auto-regenerate), with enemies taking 1, 2, or all 3 ammo to use, and the bigger enemies like the Barons you could not chainsaw at all. So yeah it was a much shittier system. Like you said, it was a chore to use.It was, but I don't remember the chainsaw fuel being such an issue. Conceptually, its not the worst thing but the three charges of chainsaw fuel combined with the low ammo carrying capacity makes the whole system a chore to use.
that is an oddity these days.I watched the IGN video review linked here (at least parts of it) and I was actually impressed with the review. The reviewer was actually good at the game and was able to show off the game properly and describe everything gameplay wise very well.
He was actually good at the game, not just average. You would think that would just be normal for someone playing games as their profession.
But usually when I see video reviews it's painful to watch, like it's their first time playing a video game and they're not only just really bad using a controller or mouse, but their brain doesn't function either.
For comparison I've done no overclocking and no real tuning on my current system. I'm getting 240FPS-300+ FPS in Doom Eternal. (I fired it up last night for the hell of it.) With DLSS I'm getting over 400FPS.Wow these benchmarks are crazy not good.
Usually ' iD Tech ' engines run pretty smooth and high frames on most cards. But damn those is showing like 50 to 70 fps only on good cards.
I recall playing Doom Eternal with my RTX-3080 and getting super high frames. And Doom 2016 running on my 1070 getting pretty good frames too, not just 50 fps.
1080p med maybe ok.Wonder how this would run on my old system: Asus Z170-K motherboard with Intel i5-6600K@3.5GHz, 16 GB Ram, with a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti.
it might if you can accept not running ultra nightmare...Damn I don't think my 4070 will be able to run this at 4k 144hz. The game not that optimized? Looks like theres not much difference on the presets from low and ultra nightmare. We need lower settings for lower end cards.
FSR4 isn't supported in Vulkan yet, unfortunately.9070 xt is ready, Im assuming fsr 4 is available for this one.
Fortunately, I'm a patient man. Vulkan and AMD need to get on this though.FSR4 isn't supported in Vulkan yet, unfortunately.
Free isn't always worth your time though.Free game is free
So very true.Free isn't always worth your time though.
Afaik you need the 576.40 driver for Nvidia to get the release performance. E.g. TPU used that driver and show 10-15% higher performance on Nvidia than those benchmarks with the 576.31 driver.CPU Benchmarks:

Same here. The acrobatics of Eternal turned me off completely so the stand and fight of Dark Ages should be a nice change.Looking forward to playing Doom the Dark Ages, but I also hope it has a bit more variety than the previous titles. I found Doom 2016 and Eternal to get a bit repetitive after a while with the games' #1 trick being locking you in an arena with lots of monsters, run a little bit to the next arena then rinse and repeat. I just got tired of it around 2/3rds through each of the games, then took like a 12 month break before going back and finishing it.
Not sure where you heard that as it’s nonsense. You can remap anything you like. Also, you’re weird, but that’s a separate issue.I've heard that the right click mouse button is permanently mapped to the shield. Is this true? It can't be mapped to something else?
This is a non starter for me, right click mouse button is Forward for me. And yes I will die on this hill
