This is totally off-topic, but this line really pissed me off:

Uh..."Ubisoft's" shooter? Rainbow Six was developed and published by Red Storm Entertainment. The only thing Ubisoft ever did was fuck up the franchise.

Fuck you Kotaku.

That's your fault for reading a Kotaku article. Kotaku can't piss you off if you pretend it doesn't exist.

It's after midnight here.

time zones. how do they work?

i'm preloading now!

Ken Levine has been hyping up the ending of BioShock Infinite as something really special:

"The end of the game, I can't tell whether people will like it or not like it...I can say it's something we're incredibly proud of...It's like nothing you've actually experienced in a video game before"

 ...don't think I could be any more excited but I am

Well, I'm not going to play any further than this since I have work tomorrow. Didn't expect to be looting so soon in the game.

Bad news: Mouse is SUPER floaty in the menus.

Good news: Not a problem in game for me, though I'm sure some people who are extra sensitive will complain.

Will probably try to step down from the highest quality shadows and see if that makes a difference, it feels a bit framey. (I think that benchmark was run on everything highest because that was the autodetected setting in-game).

Damned it. Working tomorrow will positively SUCK.

It's 5 PM here and it unlocked already. Also, it was $45 on Steam which made the GMG deal kinda irrelevant. It's cool that 2K Games actually understands the other markets.

Yes, 2K understands them enough to price-jack all of its games on GMG for Australian customers.

Did you expect anything different? 2K is the king of console ports.

I honestly never thought I'd be so impressed by an Unreal Engine 3 game, but jesus christ this game is gorgeous.

Also, mouse felt fine once I lowered sensitivity down all the way.

What are you running it with?

Unlocks around 9 PM here (which is why I was confused about the Steam release time thing in different regions). Can't wait! Might end up getting very little sleep tonight... :D

I'm staying up to play. Stocked up on snacks, beer, and scotch.

I went with the GMG bundle with Spec Ops The Line, I had most of the others so it should give me a day or two of SP time.

Thanks!

Edit - Steam has a sale going on and I can get Xcom Enemy Unknown for free.

Anyone know if that game is any good?

I purchased one of the AMD Never Settle key sets from a user here, and while AMD got the key to me two days ago, I was very disappointed to find that AMD dropped the ball again when it comes to "pre-order" qualifications and ultimately AMD "Never Settle" key holders are going to get a version of the game that has less in-game content on day bloody one, even though they had keys prior to release.

While I can understand being denied access to the pre-order bonuses from Steam themselves (ie Bioshock+Xcom+TF2 stuff), what I can't stomach is that AMD keyholders do not have access to the www.finkmanufacturing.com Industrial Revolution game, and thus no opportunity to unlock the Bioshock Infinite in-game items provided by Industrial Revolution. Industrial Revolution is completely platform and reseller agnostic, but despite the fact that AMD keyholders had valid game keys registered on their Steam accounts before launch, that isn't good enough for some reason. Clearly, AMD dropped the bloody ball on this and this is the second time they've done so - Tomb Raider's "Scavenger Hunt", which also provided in-game content upon completion, rejected those sending keys from AMD as proof of pre-order.

I'm usually a fan of AMD, but they've fouled up royally at this point, especially having the audacity to call this bundle "Never Settle". Those who are affected by this, I suggest writing to " support@amd4u.com " to express your displeasure.

the pre-order bonuses are retailer exclusives...I don't know why anyone who bought a code from the AMD bundles would feel they are entitled to it...it wasn't a part of the AMD Reloaded bundle...if you wanted the bonuses then you needed to buy it from Steam, Amazon etc...I don't care at all about some bonus skins or in-game cash...it adds nothing of value to the game...only thing that would matter to me are exclusive single player missions

I'll gladly pay much less then retail for an AMD code rather then pay full price for an Industrial Revolution pack

Agreed not missing anything.

Definitely not losing any sleep over pre-order bonuses for TR and BS:I, especially since I bought most likely two GOTY candidates for $25 each.

Yeah...I'm slightly annoyed at AMD but not really considering the price I paid for the games.

Also, it's not really a "retailer exclusive" in these cases...basically anywhere you bought it got you the Industrial Revolution Pack, EXCEPT the AMD codes. That's why it's slightly annoying IMO. I wouldn't expect to get X:COM or anything but the day one DLC seems like it would be doable.

The Industrial Revolution title I'm talking about is accessible to ALL pre-orders, regardless of retailer or platform. See: http://www.ign.com/wikis/bioshock-infinite/BioShock_Infinite_Industrial_Revolution . So, besides lore and whatnot, there are 3 in-game items that are given through access to Industrial revolution (in addition to money and lockpicks). I am NOT talking about the Gamestop exclusive gun skin (though, I disagree with that on principle), the Steam exclusive additional games and TF2 items, GMG's additional games etc... I am talking solely about Industrial Revolution which is meant to be accessible to any and all pre-orders. It is not retailer or platform exclusive.

There is ample proof for any AMD code-holder (for Tomb Raider and for Bioshock Infinite) that their codes were paid in full and provided to them prior to launch - that should be enough to satisfy the category of "pre-order" and thus give access to any promotional content that requires it, especially if it leads to in-game content.

quit whining you are basically getting a game a reduced price. It is supposed to be "free" for AMD people like myself here. I ain't gonna lose sleep over something this little. If you wanted it so bad why didn't you actually buy the game at full price instead.

That's probably the entire plan. AMD gets given a bunch of keys for a reduced rate just without the extra DLC. As the publisher knows a percentage of these people are going to buy "extras" and make up for the lower price, that's how loads of "free stuff" plans work. :D
