BioShock Infinite

For anyone that hasn't gotten the game already, there's a deal going on at Greenmangaming.com where you can get the game for roughly $46 along with XCOM and the first Bioshock, and your choice of one of these: choose from Darkness 2, Spec Ops: The Line, Mafia 2, Civilization V, or Bioshock 2.

It's $60, but you can choose to get $14 cash back, which is pretty sweet. That's a lot of great games for a small fee.

Optionally you can choose to get just Infinite with a 20% off voucher: GMG20-FDSCL-AQQXD

(as always, i'll wait to see what the game ACTUALLY looks like on PC before buying. The promises of publishers and developers, no matter who they are, are worth very little to me)
 
Impressive reviews...I've been trying to get through Bioshock before playing this, but I don't think that'll happen. Shouldn't matter, though, since it's totally different.

By the way, Gamespot's review was getting pretty spoiler-y, had to stop a few minutes in. Just a heads-up.

Whenever i see reviews like these, I remind myself of my own experience with Skyrim. Everyone was gushing over that game. I did too, for about 3 weeks. In those 3-weeks i was enamored... i would have given it a 10/10 too! Then i realized that the game was actually quite shit in many regards and, without mods, it would have been a turd of a game.
 
Pretty impressive scores thus far. If it turns out as good as the reviews are painting it, 2013 is the start of a new Golden Era.

If you get Infinite WITH the extra games, that bundle itself is specific, meaning you can't use an ADDITIONAL voucher, as you're already getting all those games for $60 + the $14 back into your bank account as a rebate type thing.

If you get just Infinite, by itself, you should be able to use the 20% voucher.

Are you able to comment on any specializations n the game? Perhaps akin to SS2 or DX:HR? Or is it more like Half Life?

I know you've been close to this project, so you kinda get a pass. I will however be steadfast in waiting for real reviews. How many more Diablo 3's or Sim Shitties do we need for people to learn?

Starting at Tomb Raider (plus a few indies which have been kick ass). There are quite a few games coming out this year that also have me pretty excited

As I recall, there was a special game 'mode' that would let you do combat specializations, that were unique to weapon types. This was a while back though.

It wasn't really anything like DX:HR, that's for sure. That was much more in-depth. This really isn't that kind of game if you had to ask me.
 
Looks like that delay paid off. If its half as good as the reviews say we are in for a treat. I will pick it up once i'm completely done with Far Cry 3 which should be by next month at the rate that I play. By that time any day 1 patches will be deployed :)
 
The benchmark tool is quite interesting. Opens up a cmdprompt and you select the level you desire for benchmarking and at the end you get a very detailed list of your performance #'s in an excel spreadsheet. Cannot wait to play this thing when I get back from class and after I install the latest Nvidia WHQL's.

Yeah, I don't buy many games but I do own all three of those titles, it's been a good year so far.
 
On PS3 there was also Wrath of the White Witch and Metal Gear Rising, so yeah it has been a pretty good year.

Ah, that's a shame then. You can then, get the game for $46 if you do the big bundle with the extra few games, as you do get that $14 cash-back. Still a good deal.
 
With Assassin's Creed 3, Crysis 3, and Far Cry 3 I've been pretty happy with the multi-platform 3rd sequels from the last few months.

Clearly this is a stellar game per the reviews. Hopefully there are no major technical problems to muck all of that up.
 
Did anyone get their actual key from AMD yet?

I bought my son a 7950 at Frys and they gave me 2 vouchers - I got the Crysis 3 key, but I'm waiting on the Bioshock key and the keys from the voucher with Farcry 3, Sleeping Dogs and others just never came in the email - they even said they resent it (and yes, I checked junk, etc)

I don't understand how some of you people don't see a problem with comparing an EA game with a game crafted by the genius of Ken Levine.
This guy has earned my preorder. That is for damn sure.

Just don't pre-order anything ever again. That's my new rule of thumb anyway.

One day he may sell out and everyone will go out in droves to buy the new Levine game, which turns out to be a money-grab.

If anything I am just upset I wasn't able to preorder the songbird edition. I got the ultimate, and even that sold out many months ago around here.
It's fine if you don't want to put money down on a game before seeing reviews, but you are nuts if you are putting all companies in the same category.

Not surprising the game is getting great reviews, since reviewers love linear scripted interactive-movie games. Look at the ratings crap like Heavy Rain, Call of Duty and Uncharted get.

That is the worst video player i've ever tried to use. How the hell do you get it to HD anyway?

couldn't ever get it in HD so the graphics looked the same as the console footage lol

After seeing the thread here on the girl's creation--they really should have kept her a woman instead of this girl.

Gametrailers used to have an HD option...now it's based on random parameters, like if your connection is good AT THE MOMENT...it'll turn HD and you'll see it noted as "HD" in green letters, or if you make it full screen it'll instantly go into HD mode.

Really odd IMO.
