Battlefield 6

I'm just really confused why would EA and Dice even want the bullcrap battle royale in a Battlefield game? No one likes that garbage.

BR is for kids, not serious adult gamers.

And that's not what a battlefield game is whatsoever it's supposed to be two different opposing militaries going after each other with tons of vehicles a dozen tanks on each side going across the huge outdoor maps and getting hit by several helicopters shooting at them while the soldiers are going after the objectives. That's Battlefield

If they're pushing BR, then they've lost the whole idea and concept of what a battlefield game is and have "jumped the shark"
If you goal was to make money, why would you make a game for a few "serious adult gamers". BR is where adults and kids are. My group has played almost all the battlefield games and we play BR games as well. We're 30-50 years old. BR is kinda a "serious" game, to you win you have to be the last one alive.

30 million was the most a BF game ever reached. They are smoking crack of they think they can reach 100 million.

30 million is nothing to scoff at either, especially for a full priced game. They're competing with free to play shit, so they'll never get those numbers. They want to be a full priced AAA game but stuff it with micro/macro transactions. :ROFLMAO:

Battle Royale is still a thing?

I guess so, but I doubt anyone is breaking the CoD, Fortnite, PUGB and Apex Legends wall.

They're idiots who don't know what they're doing. They also have Apex Legends. They could easily have two online shooters with different business models and gameplay, instead they want to cannibalize the one they already have. If they under deliver with BF6, I hope it results in Apex being ruined to. :p

They could include a battle royal mode and still do well with the conquest and rush modes. BF is not rocket science at this point. They just need really good maps and they need to keep making them.

Very difficult. Weapon balance and content will favor the more profitable mode, and people will want to use their BR skins and weapons in the main game. It isn't impossible, but I don't trust any developer to have two separate teams working independently. Furthermore it would simply things if they were separate games, but they won't do that.

A Battlefield BR could be fun with a heavy focus on vehicles (to distinguish themselves from the competition). But that sounds like hell to balance and the map would need to be crazy big and complex if we allow choppers and such.

The main thing is I would not want them to take away ressources from the rest of the game, I primarily want my conquest and rush. If that part goes well and they're swimming in success and cash, then sure I don't mind them making a BR mode, as long as they don't copy/paste other games without bringing anything new (like the BR of BFV, it died within a month and frankly deserved to).

I'm fine with BR but don't make it the central mode, there should be balance and choice.

On a side note I've never played a BR game, lol.

BR vehicles wouldn't be unique.

The COD BR that came out 5 years ago already had helicopters and a bunch of vehicles. COD and BF have basically been the same games since COD added more players and bigger maps.

Fortnite has also done a bunch of different vehicles for season specials, even airplanes.

There really isn't much special about a BR game mode, it's pretty much just an FFA with 1 life. It would be really easy to add to BF.
COD's unique thing to add was the gulag.

Every game has a BR mode at this point it's just like having death match and ctf. It's not like BF needs to add a unique spin to BR.

If Battlefield really wants to do a BR type mode, they should just make a Battlefield Planetfall type game. Mass war with ongoing fights for map control. Drop in and out anytime. I have never understood the BR draw. Too much running around only for brief moments of combat.

That's pretty much the opposite of BR lol.

BF going GAAS was something I was expecting tbh but from what I understand going for large scale warfare with 128 players worked against it in 2042 as they couldn't pull off physics like they could in previous games and it affected the overall gaming experience. So it looks like keeping it at 64 players is the sweet spot for now.

That being said, I am expecting day one bugs like the previous BF games but I'm hopeful that BF6 will make it right. If not, I guess I'm sticking with World of Warships :ROFLMAO:

Oh ye of little imagination.

Up to 100 players/mercenaries drop in on a map fighting each other along with the existing bots. You can have strategic targets similar to how Fortnite has different areas with other goals.Winner boosts the side they support enabling things like additional reinforcements, upgrades, etc.

You allow players to either join BR style matches or just fight on frontlines. You could even have winners of BR royals open the ability for players to join that map to try and fight it out to capture territory. It gives both sides the game modes they want while also giving some sort of permanence and reason to keep playing BR other than just rinse and repeat.

Maybe they hired Cliffy B he decided Battle Royal sounds just like Battlefield so why not?
Lawbreakers was pretty successfull.

Pretty Funny the Phantom Edition is more expensive.

If it is $80, and they insist on micro transactions which they will, they're out of their minds. Hoping this comes for free with some GPU/CPU or is on massive discount pre-launch otherwise I'm not really interested. Getting tired of the BS in multiplayer games.

$80 LOL after BF2042 they should give everyone that bought that game a half price discount on BF6.

And microtransactions are not needed or wanted in a team based multiplayer game. Zero use for those. Actually zero use for those put in any game you purchase. Sure I get it for those "free to play" games you just download, but if EA is asking 80 bucks for this, then no way.

Definitely going to wait and see how it pans out. Is the location at 1:15 Kubra Dam from BF2?

$80 is alot, I don't know if thats a good decision. They are trying to get as much money as they can out of people before the free BR releases at a later date.

The trailer showed some detailed interior rooms, maybe we are getting some proper urban maps.

Yea the trailers are always great, but then the game itself, well the last two BFV and 2042 have been disappointing

"we want 200,000,000 players"

"also the base game is $80"

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Whatever executives are smoking, I want some, godamn.

They want free to play game numbers, with expensive micro/macro transactions, and an $80 up front cost.

I wouldn't mind paying $80 for none of that BS, make a proper military shooter that is high quality, supported and gets more content for free down the road. They have to pick one game type, not try and do both because that is impossible. They'll never take on Fortnite or whatever that runs on every platform and is free up front.

Looks like any other scripted trailer these days. Based on just anecdotal observations, the online reactions seem pretty muted compared to the hype BF used to generate. People have moved on from hating EA/DICE for retarded development decisions to pure apathy instead.

I'm "hyped" as I can be considering they haven't really shown anything yet. I'm very much looking forward to the game, though.

How I feel. Even if it is good day one, how many months until it is ruined through forced updates?
