Well, I installed the Hyper 212 Evo in place of the Wraith Spire and, it made the idle temps almost 5C cooler. Since this is my work machine, I have not really pushed it but, it is working well nonetheless.
Personally, I would just let it be and enjoy it. I have two of the same board and only my GSkill 2800 ram will run at 2666 speeds. The GSkill Aegis 3000 stuff will not do over 2133, although it recognizes the XMP profile of that ram. It is fast either way, we may just have to be patient. However, if you bought it at a Microcenter, you can always return the ram and pick up something on the list that will run at a faster speed.
Well, I have got it up and running and all is well so far. I have tried to raise the memory speed from the default 2133 and it won't boot. I have 16gb Corsair CMK16GX4M2B3000C15 (2 x sticks). I am using ASUS Prime X370 Pro mobo with latest BIOS. The memory is on the mobo compatibility list but only as 2133mhz. Have I made the wrong choice with the memory ? or is there a way to crank it up ??
