Lol I like the title of the thread I'm out.. when over 60% of folks here will grab the 5090 FE if given the chance tomorrow.

Look at Doom Dark Ages, that game will look better and actually perform way smoother and be easier on your system than Cyberpunk.
why did people refer to crysis for 15+ years and now its back with VR?Why is CP77 the main game people keep referencing for benchmarks with the 5090? It's a 5 year old game, that people have played already. I'm not tempted to buy a 5090 just so I can play one old game at ultra settings.

like i said in the other thread for it (how many do we friggin need?!?!) i really really hope no one here is supporting these asshole scalpers or are in on it....
on their site, when they are actually released to the public. So where are the drivers for these cards? In Vietnam they released the 5080 with no driver support.
Yeah I got that wrong so I deleted the post, thanks.on their site, when they are actually released to the public.

Someone with FU money or someone with a compulsive spending addiction.LOL WTF only a special kind of stupid would pay a penny more than MSRP let alone triple the price for a video card. It's just a PC component, not a kidney.

What cracks me up is people who game at 1440p and are already well over 150-200fps max settings, then turn on DLSS and frame gen to get even more fps, only to limit the fps to 120 or so. It makes absolutely no sense.I could almost understand some millionaire who has $7,000 to blow on a video card doing this, if it was 75% to 100% faster than a 4090, which would be immediately noticeable in your computer.
But realistically going from a 4090 to a 5090 you'd prob be hard pressed to even notice without benchmarks running.
All frames are "fake" in computer graphics.I mean if you go by that, the 5070 will be as fast as a 4090!! lol
We are talking about pure performance. Not fake frames.
So I guess we can all stop posting about this topic now, right?The hard cold facts are this;
The RTX-5090 is 25% to 35% faster in raw performance over the RTX-4090. So it's an approx. 30% faster card than previous gen. The biggest gains being at 4k resolution. FACT. And a 5090 over a 3090 is a HUGE performance gain, potentially 80% to 100% improvement.
So now it's just up to each person's own opinion if that performance gain is worth the money. Some will say, hell yeah I'll take 30% more frames in 4k gaming from my 4090, and even lots more fps from a 3090. Others will say heck no, not for that price.
This is where were at. End of story.

Plenty to discuss since street price would be 2500 and more people should be “out”!
Some will make it to 5090D - more cut down version sold in China. So where do all the GB202 chips go that didn't make it as a 5090?
Do you honestly think Nvidia is going to literally bin them? They WILL get sold, so the question really is then, in what form?
I'm sure they will get sold and even find their way into lower tier cards just like the AD 102 from the RTX 4090 found it's way into RTX 4080 and RTX 4080 Supers. There is nothing wrong with them binning and selling partially disabled dies that do meet the specification of the next card down the stack that's just good business and not wasting materials. Here's a question for everyone to consider:
The GB202 die is huge, I'd expect only 50% of chips on a wafer can be fully enabled chips and these go off to expensive server farms.
The rest then get binned, the best of them getting made into 5090s. 5080 uses a different chip, the GB203.
So where do all the GB202 chips go that didn't make it as a 5090?

5080ti coming August 2025! You heard it here first!![]()
Now with AMD formally withdrawing from the high end market, it leaves Nvidia to do whatever they want without even worrying about competition in the high end. So I'm not so sure we will see a RTX 5080 Ti as there is just no market pressure for them to do so.
Only way I can see them bothering with a RTX 5080 Ti is if the RTX 5090 doesn’t sell very well. I don’t think that’s doing to be the case however with the massive demand for AI acceleration and the RTX 5090 clearly being targeted at that market it’s going to sell out and we as gamers are the ones that will loose.Possibly. But for many years now it's felt like they're mostly competing with themselves, given the 82% marketshare. I think they'll do a Ti purely on whether there's enough juice in it (ROI) to bother.
What's this app trick you speak of?
The 4080ti looked like an obvious option on the 4090 debut, but as you say, nvidia had no problems selling the 4090 to anyone who would've have wanted a 4080ti. Indeed, they literally sold them all.I'm sure they will get sold and even find their way into lower tier cards just like the AD 102 from the RTX 4090 found it's way into RTX 4080 and RTX 4080 Supers. There is nothing wrong with them binning and selling partially disabled dies that do meet the specification of the next card down the stack that's just good business and not wasting materials.
As for your RTX 5080 Ti theory it sounds plausible just in the same way a RTX 4080 Ti sounded plausible this generation. I don't think we ever saw a RTX 4080 Ti for 2 reasons however:
1) AMD's offering this generation RX 7900 XTX was not as competitive as they hoped and really was targeted at the RTX 4080
2) they had no problem selling every single variant of AD 102 as either RTX 4090D, RTX 4080, RTX 4080S and RTX 5000, RTX 6000
Now with AMD formally withdrawing from the high end market, it leaves Nvidia to do whatever they want without even worrying about competition in the high end. So I'm not so sure we will see a RTX 5080 Ti as there is just no market pressure for them to do so.
You'll be back. The thing about the hobby is, $10,000 pcs is only a small portion. I just bought an N64 again and am on the hunt for a CRT so I can relieve that golden time replaying Mario 64, Zeldas, NFL Blitz, etc, etc.....and it only cost me a couple bucks.....yes I have tinkered with emulators and all the good stuff those offer like higher upscaled resolution.....but nothings better than the original authentic experience imho.I've been gaming since the 70s and gaming on PC since 1998. First got on HARDOCP in 2003. That said, I'm done with pc gaming and leaving this ridiculously expensive (to just play video games) hobby behind. I can afford any card or setup I want but my adult brain simply cannot justify it anymore. Anyway, to all the coolest people on the internetI bid you all a fond farewell and well wishes!

I will be around the retrogaming scene. I will always love the classics! I am literally playing through the top 10 arcade releases for 1984 at the moment. After that I intend to move on to 85, 86 etc; You'll be back. The thing about the hobby is, $10,000 pcs is only a small portion. I'm also considering camping Miami, because its my version of climbing Mount Everest.....a couple years ago I did a thousand mile round trip drive to pickup the PEEGEE 32" FALD when it came out and micro centers in Georgia were the closest place with stock.
I'm wavering. Reruns of the benchmark on path traced Cyberpunk yesterday with the latest updates from CD Projekt and Nvidia showed an increase for me to a pretty solid 100 Hz. This is on a 4090 at 4K DLSS Performance and RTX HDR. Might just pocket the win from the software updates and call it a day. As my display is also limited to 120Hz max input.I'm using a 4k 120hz OLED so I don't see multi-frame generation as being useful for me. I need a consistent 60FPS without frame generation in order to have good enough response times and X2 frame generation will double it to 120FPS which is the best my monitor will be able to take advantage of. One thing that will be nice is Cyberpunk at 4k DLSS quality. It looks like DLSS 4 on a 5090 is about 19FPS faster than my 4090 so X2 frame generation will double that to a 38FPS gain. You have to use DLSS and FG in Cyberpunk at 4k so this will simply allow me to play at 120FPS instead of 85FPS with the exact same visuals that I had on my 4090 with DLSS quality and FG X2. Not a bad increase but 2077 is a rare case where I actually need DLSS and FG to play at 4k. Most games that don't have path tracing can be maxed out on my display with a 4090.
I do like to push 2.5 DLDSR on games like RDR2 and Hitman 3 so any extra raw performance is welcome. The 32GB of memory is also nice for 3D art render work and high resolution texture packs. This generation is no doubt a let down but I have enough work and game benefits that I can justify a 5090 if I can get one at MSRP. I'm not willing to pay scalper prices especially with how high the MSRP is getting. Also, it looks like my 4090 will sell for $1500+ so total cost for a 5090 shouldn't exceed $800 even if I get stuck with an overpriced model due to availability.
