What kind of cable management are people using?
Are NON-oc'd i5's with stock coolers keeping things cool enough?
How about graphics cards, do the 560ti's maintain a reasonable temp under load? My biggest fear right now is the temperature if I build one of these.
Doh! yeah I meant low profile. I'll go ahead and find some low profile since that space is precious. Thanks for all of the input. Especially the 450w point, I would have screwed that up.
I have an SSD for windows on my desktop and would totally do it if it were my own computer, the start-up...
I have a GTX 560ti in my big box at home, it seems pretty large and pretty hot. Do you think that's going to be a problem with a small case?
Also do I need low-latency ram for this case or will 2x4gb gskill ripjaw work? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231402
Edit: just...
1. What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming, no overclocking. Want to be able to play Diablo 3 and GW2 on medium settings, and hopefully games for the next 2 years at low to medium settings.
2. What's your budget? under $1000. Trying to build something similar to the $950 X51 (8gb ram, GTX...
I have an Inspirion E1705, and it had a Geforce Go 7900 GS in it. Well, the card overheated (I believe) and it no longer wrote to the video memory correctly, and everything was showing up weird on the monitor. So I replaced the card, and when I installed the new one, my laptop wouldn't even turn...
I bought a Airlink wireless card, and i tried to put it in, and it's not the right size... a similar card is said to be compatible on the dell website...
Okay, so I installed XP (finally worked after a couple of tries (errors/random power offs)) and then I installed a couple of the drivers off the gigabyte CD. It shut off on me, and now it keeps shutting down when I try to boot it up. It gets different lengths in the booting up process, but I...
I tried reseatting the ram last night. I didn't have a jumper, so I used a screwdriver to reset it, and now it's working.
Thank you for your time and help; I really appreciate it.
I just built a PC with the following:
Core 2 Duo E6750
G.SKILL 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800
GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard
SAMSUNG SH-S202G 20X DVD Burner
Seagate 250GB SATA hdd
EVGA 8800GT Superclocked
and a SILVERSTONE ST50EF-Plus ATX 12V 2.2...
Okay, well the 8800gt was tested on an X38 chipset, which does support PCIe 2.0
With it's benchmarks and whatnot it's allegedly better than an 8800gts. But if it were run on a P35 chipset, if it's even possible, would it still be better than a 8800gts?
For the following:
Core 2 Duo E6750
G.SKILL 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800
GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard
SAMSUNG SH-S202G 20X DVD Burner
Western Digital EIDE 80gig 7200rpm HDD
I was thinking about going with an 8800gts, or waiting for the 8800gt...
And with the nividia settings it works just like a second monitor. Brilliant. No need to buy 30+$ cables! I just had to buy a speaker to red-white rca cable to get sound.
haha wow, I plugged the green component cable into the RCA yellow spot and it's crystal clear. :/ Thanks for the help. All the cables I could find were like 30+ bucks. Just so you know, if you have an old shitty tv, you can plug the green (component) into the the RCA - yellow and it works perfect!
This is kind of a silly question, I wasn't sure where to put it.
I have a TV card, which I use kind of like a tivo. I would like to watch the video on my tv from my computer.
I have an gefore 8800 gts 640mb. so It has an s-video out and high def out. But my tv only has RCA in. What kind of...

I am now running the test with both sticks in the 1 and 2 slots (for some reason i had originally put them in the 3 and 4 slots).
I am looking into how to change the timings.
I have no idea how to change the timings or the voltage, I can't get to either in my bios. I am running one with the test right now, then i am going to run the other, by itself and see which one is bad.
My mobo is an Asus P4S800D-X
