Tried that just now, but got the same result. I'm noticing in the install when I view the log after the driver finishes. It gives a blank statement instead of a pass/fail next to Driver Status. To further clarify, when I run any DirectX application which initializes the 3D, I get a 'No 3D...
I'm having a problem where I can install up to 7.8 Radeon drivers, but anything past will not enable my DirectX, so I have no Aero or anything. I can't load any games as well. My DirectX is up-to-date, and I uninstall everything ATi before updating so I can't figure out what the problem is. I've...
When my computer did that it was because my power supply didn't have enough wattage to power the system. When I got a more powerful power supply, the computer booted fine.

I have Outlook 2003 on another HD, that can't be logged into. So I can't go in and export all the files I need. Is there any way to import the old files onto my new Windows installation? There are no pst files, which is my main problem I suppose.

Ok, I figured it out. Even though the HD's were set on UDMA in the BIOS, Windows had them loading in Multi-Word DMA 2. So I found where to switch it to UDMA/133. And now they are working great. Sorry for the useless post. Maybe, it will help someone else though.

Ever since I did a clean install and put in my new SATA drives, my other 3 IDE HD's are slow when they need to continously be used. Like extracting large RAR files. It takes over 8 mins to extract a 700mb file. Where before I had the SATA drives it would do it in 2 mins. Reading folders and such...
I just got 2 new HD's as you can see im my sig. I'm going to run them raid and then fresh install XP. Even though I have XP installed already on one of my older HD's, as long as I set the BIOS to boot RAID first it should not look for the other windows installation correct? Or should I uninstall...
Because I want to have the best heatsink period, if I ever move it to something else. And I don't care about noise. I run my Volcano 9 right now at 5150RPMs all the time.
It sounds right to have the 3200 but I've just been leaning towards the 3500 for some reason. Is there a big performance...
And just to give an idea this is what I'm going to go for this week.
DFI Lanparty NFII Ultra B
AMD Athlon 3200+ "Barton"
Thermalright SP-97 HS
Vantec Tornado 80mm Fan
Kingston HyperX Dual Kit 1GB(2x512MB) DDR PC-3500
(2) WD Raptor 36.7GB HD
Sapphire Ultimate ATi Radeon 9800Pro 256MB...
I had 2 quick questions on some parts I will be buying this week.
For my video card I have decided that Sapphire is the brand I want to go with (no changing my mind there!). Should I go with the 9600XT 256MB DDR or 9800Pro 256MB DDR2? I'm leaning more towards the 9600XT due to the clock...
Max Payne 2 and X-Wing Alliance both say that no 3D card is present. Yet, I can run Armed and Dangerous, Painkiller Demo, etc. and no problems. This was upon a 4.3 upgrade. Will go back to 4.2 and see what happens.
Is the Corsair TwinX1024-4000Pro faster or better? I've also read that on an AMD system that a PC3200 or PC3500 would be better suited because the higher MHz of the PC4000 or PC4400 wouldn't be used.
Ok, I upped the FSB to 166MHz and Locked the RAM to 100%. Then I set the Multi at 11x. Booted up Windows no problem. Ran a memory test on Sandra and a CPU test and came out fine. So I rebooted and set the Multi to 12x. MB alarm went off. So I set to 11.5x, and Windows wouldn't boot. Kept...
I have an Epox 8RDA3+ with an AthlonXP 2200. It autoruns at 133MHz of course because of the chip. But I want to take advantage of the DDR333 memory I have. Will bumping it up to 166MHz be a problem?
Plus, I've been wanting to overclock this thing forever. Is there a site or such that shows...
