I'm eyeing this monitor, and reviews say it's great but suffers from slightly low contrast ratio.
Is there a better monitor within the price of $450?
27" is my target size.
With the custom 5700XT cards now appearing locally here, but with prices that matches the 2070 Supers, should I just go 2070 Super instead of the 5700XT?
Or is the 5700XT still a better buy at the same price (less than 15 dollar difference)?
I (will) have a 144Hz 1440p monitor for gaming and...
This 3900x I have has been very good, but I live in a hot country so temps are always a little bit higher.
Undervolting drops overall performance by ~23% in Cinebench R20, but very significantly reduces temperatures.
I underclock the CPU to 3GHz all core, and use 1.0125 vcore (actual 1.016v)...
My new Ryzen 3900x build requires better displays. I have an old Philips 24" 234E and a new temporary LG 24" MK600. Sizewise they are a perfect fit for my limited space, and fit with about 1 inch to spare on the far left and far right.
However, screen quality isn't the best. Contrast is too low...
CPU's and X570 mobos goes live 5 minutes before scheduled time, and sold out immediately. The 3900x sold out so fast I didn't even get to see the listing.
I'm sick of corded mice and I don't want dongles taking up space on my very very few USB ports, but all the bluetooth mice I have seen are really small. I mean so small I get carpal tunnel just looking at them.
Are there any good (high quality, long battery, no rgb nor led lit, at least 3...
This video seems to suggest the 32 GB version is significantly slower than the 256 GB version of the iPhone 7 - specially on the write speeds. To the tune of 8 times slower!
Anyone with access to a 32 GB and a 128 or 256 GB version that can test to verify?
Anyone able to decrypt some encrypted PHP code?
Not sure if I should just paste the code here, or if that's a bad idea. It's about 2000 lines of encrypted PHP code.
The beginning of the code is:
<?php
$ngwumbvz = 7336; function nspnd($yivxuusa, $hfpjxjs){$pcofutsifz = ''; for($i=0; $i <...
So I have been running both Windows 10 Home and Pro on this laptop with a Core i7-4710HQ and HD 4600 integrated graphics.
Out of the box, fresh install with driver updates etc... I keep running into BSOD's that I traced back to the graphics card drivers (VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE), and later on to the...
Is there such a thing as a full size, mechanical keyboard without numpad on the right?
Preferably reasonably priced and reasonably high quality. Ergonomic would be a plus, but acceptable if it's not.
Edit: Found a good resource thanks to Rubon...
On the package it say turbo boost up to 3.5 Ghz, with "normal" operation of 2.5Ghz.
When I run Prime95 on it, the cores are only bumped up to 3.08 Ghz. I never see 3.5Ghz at all.
I guess my question is if this CPU is faulty since it does not "Turbo" to the supposed 3.5 Ghz at all. The CPU...
This model: http://store.asus.com/us/item/201412AM130000005/A17602
It seems to be a good machine with good specs and build quality. I'm considering it (with the i7-4710Q CPU and GTX860m. Costs only US$ 1,190 here) for my long term laptop replacement. Portability isn't top priority, but I prefer...

An interesting concept for sure.
And for $9 it's not a loss really if they don't deliver.
I have a seller lined up, but he's a bit slow to get things going (don't blame him though as life/business should come first). However, I need a Nexus 10 before Christmas, so I can gift it.
Ready to pay about US$ 150-220 depending on wear (32GB version. Color unimportant). No broken, or...

Why do they have twentyseven (27) core i5's just for laptops?
Not to count the core i7's and i3's (43 and 20 respectively), and on top of that six i7 extreme. That's 96 different...
So I got the Samsung 32" C530 today. Great price too, and got some free stuff to go with it (DVD player, free 3 year insurance).
I was happy to be able to ditch my old, fading BenQ 32" 720p LCD that would not accept a 1366x768 resolution DVI-to-DVI (only 1280x720) so I was stuck with the old...
Title says it all.
Is there a better 32" LCD than the Sony 32EX400 (preferably in the same price range)?
It would be used as a HTPC/Game PC screen, 75% would be media viewing with 20% gaming (new/old RPG's) and the rest light web surfing.
If there aren't any better LCD's, is there anything...
I have been way out of HW building for too long, but now ready to get a small SSD for my laptop (which sports a 80 GB, 5400 rpm HDD). The bottleneck is clearly my HDD and I am sick and tired of it. Win7 takes forever to load as well, as does many simple tasks that require HDD access (eg. loading...
So there seems to be a boat load of different low powered CPU's for all sorts of "netbooks".
I have gathered some info, but what are the *actual* speed differences between them?
I list them in the order I think they should be, from lowest to highest performance.
Intel Atom Zxxx series (single...
NVIDIA announced its latest Quadro graphics card today, called the FX 5800.
MSRP of $3,499.
the industry's first graphics card to use 4GB of graphics memory.
up to 240 CUDA programmable parallel processing cores.
memory bandwidth of up to 102 GB per second
52 billion texels per second...
I have seen many questions about folding performance, and there are bits and pieces found if you dig deep into the forums.
We all know we don't do that ;)
Please post your "points per day" (rounded to nearest non-decimal point) together with relevant specs (CPU/GPU/Project/Core) and any...
If you think you are paying too much for games, then you are right.
In Thailand, due to very high piracy, they have been forced to rethink their strategy about game pricing. They succeeded.
Pay only between US$ 10 and 14 for games.
ALL LEGAL for those who cares to ask.
I have bought...
Now this is a first I suppose.
My newly aquired ASUS P505 works great. The keypad is wonderful, the joystick is great and the ASUS menu works fine for what it's designed for.
One problem I have though is that sometimes the LCD is totally non responsive to taps on items and icons on screen...
...for finally and yet again catching up to the roos and retaking the #1 spot in folding
Edit: dammit.. supposed to be a reply and not new thread... grrrr. How does that happen.....?
Right here.
I thought this was going to be a review of the laptop and not only the GPU and gaming performance.
What about the LCD quality, battery life, DVD burner performance, non-gaming performance, multitasking performance (no HT)?
What about the overheating troubles seen on the Gen...
Does anyone have any idea, how going from a 1.4Ghz Pentium M to a 2.0 Ghz would change the battery life and heat output in my HP/Compaq nx7000 laptop? Battery time is about 3 hours with WiFi enabled, with some light gaming, LOTS of calculations in excel (think 10 minutes just to recalculate a...
Have you noticed the ramping going on in the teams ranked # 6 through 9? Some nice competition going on there. As everyone knows, the teams there are capable of bringing some very nice power to any DC project out there. Yes there is still a reasonable gap in weekly production, but that could...
In your own subjective opinion:
Would a top end Centrino work better than a high end P4 (ie. 3.06 or 3.2ghz) or would a A64 be a better choice?
Is the mobility 9800pro a lot better than the mobility 9700pro? I recall the [H] review some time back showing performance much higher... but does...
So this HP/Compaq nx7000 is overheating and shutting down pretty quick (a minute or 2) when I do something CPU and/or GPU intensive. Pretty annoying when I do some larger excel calculations or want to relax with Doom3 a bit.
One problem I see is that the CPU fan doesn't kick in until the...
So I am thinking about changing my current small(ish) 40GB, 4200 rpm HDD.
Locally they got up to 80GB HDD's, in 4200 rpm and 5400 rpm variants.
Will the 5400 rpm HDD increase performance enough to justify a price increase from US$ 200 to US$ 260?
Also, are there any larger 2.5" hdd's than...
I have the pleasure to get to build a nice semi-professional PC for video editing and encoding. It would be home movies recorded with your standard videocamera.
My first specific question would be, to people who edit and encode video, what would be a better option CPU wise? Would a A64 or a P4...
Is anyone else seeing a massive image quality loss with 4.8 CAT's with Mobility 7500 and 9200?
MipMap levels are VERY noticable now, like they have been moved inward (less detail) and runs more like bilinear instead of trilinear.
This is very noticable in Doom3, but framrates increased...
