GetDataBack can view all the files on the corrupt/hidden partition, but it will only allow me to copy the old files to a different hard-drive. This wouldn't be so horrible except two of my partitions are corrupt/hidden, so I have no way of backing up everything on them.
Is there a program...
You guys do realize that there are dummy pins on the CPU. VSS is a ground pin (I believe) and therefore the processor can run without it. It may need to be underclocked, but it isn't a keychain.
Amd Athlon 64 3400+, Geforce 6600GT, 2 GB Ram, 200 GB HDD IDE, Abit AV8 VIA Socket 939 ATX Motherboard, and 350 watt PSU
I give it a 6. Nice proc and mobo choice, but you need to disclose more details about what RAM and PSU you're planning on purchasing.
You probably had some jumper settings incorrect.
However, that wouldn't cause the motherboard to stop booting, it would just delay the boot by a minute or so.
I've hit 237 x 11 (2.6GHz) on my Gigabyte K8N Pro, but the K8N Pro is outdated technology (nForce3 150) so I'd put my money on the EPoX 8KDA3J, I've always had a thing for EPoX

I haven't fried anything.
However, when building a new machine a couple years ago, I asked my dad to install the HSF because I couldn't get it to clip. Long story short, neither of us could get it on and I needed to see if it would post. This was when I was a noob to building stuff and I...
Kingston makes great RAM too. Their value RAM is pretty much equal to Crucial's value RAM.
I don't know how much that ThermalTake PSU is costing you, but I've never been a fan of Tt products. If possible, get the Antec 430 TruePower PSU.
Like people have said, better safe than sorry.
That's a lot of paperclips ;)
Yeah, to test it. Just get a paperclip and use it to connect the green wire (PS On or something) to connect it to any black wire.

With that auction, what's with the TT Xaser case on top and then the Cheiftec Matrix case below?
PSU Fans do not count.
It's going to probably be one of three things:
CPU, VideoCard or Power.
Get one of these temp sensor to find out how hot your CPU is getting during gaming.
Also check your case temp. It's only like 82°F in my room, but my case temp is 86°F w/ 4 fans (2 intake...
I'd go the OEM route with the CPU.
And then pick up the SLK-947 HSF and a 92mm fan.
I recommend one of these two: http://svc.com/en92vasphipe1.html or http://svc.com/fan-al9025b.html
It's summer, so temperatures are rising.
Yeah, you'll probably need an intake fan to get some cool air into the case. Is this a system you built, or a Dell/Compaq/HP/etc. computer?
And getting a better HSF would probably help things too.
Simple answer: No.
IIRC, the A7V8X was more feature-rich and the NF7-S was the better over-clocker, but the differences between the two were minimal. Unless the A7V8X is limiting your OCing ability, then the NF7-S will do little to none.
I'm so lucky my dad brings home so much junk that I'd never imagine using.
My MS Natural was getting pretty disgusting and it seemed some of the dirt and grime was caked onto the keys. Scrubbing an individual key took about a minute and it still had stuff caked to it. So, I ask my dad.
He...
How is that possible? The notch isn't in the middle of the module, so you'd have to like, shove it down in there with a lot of force and you'd just break the module.
Building a computer is extremely easy. I built my first one three years ago, the whole process took about an hour (...
I never really talk to the Best Buy people. I'm usually in there to grab a new PC or Xbox game. The one time I bought my ATi 9600 there, the guy asked if I'd like to purchase the Service Plan which offers free replacement of it for three years for like $50. I said no and that was it.
The...
The one thing you want to look at is the brand of Power Supply. I have a 300W Fortron/Source PSU that will power my secondary system, but the 350W POWMAX PSU won't.
Granted, there are some PSU's that will be non-name-brand and run just fine, however, if you're getting a 400W PSU for $20...
