I've got a 1.5tb drive that I want to erase. I know it has some bad sectors. I just want to write zeros to it once. I don't need DoD wipe methods. :) What's the fastest way to do this? What utility or command etc? TIA
My case is old so it doesn't have 2.5" bays. Hell, it still has a floppy drive. lol Ok, it looks like I'm going with 2.5" drives and an adapter. Anybody have any other recommendations besides the Samsung 870 Evo or is that the gold standard?
I am looking to get a 2TB and a 1TB SATA ssd drives but I'm having trouble finding any. Do they only come in the 2.5 form factor and I need to use a drive cage? Also which brands do you recommend?
There is some back story but I'll skip that for now. I thought my hd was failing so I cloned (clonezilla) the old drive (mechanical) to a new SSD. I had various issues but I finally got it to boot Windows. I had resized the C: drive with Gparted, but when I booted into windows it still showed...
1. What is the most common type of hard drive found in laptops over the past let's say 5 years? I don't think it is a 2.5" sata drive anymore.
2. Can someone recommend a universal drive adapter that will work with the hard drive above? Something similar to this...
I prefer a HP Probook with Intel cpu in good condition. It should have a number pad , be able to run virtual machines, and be able to take a 2.5" SATA hard drive. Let me know what you got.
Could you possibly check that out? I'm not trying to have it installed on a bunch of PC's but if I need to move it from one to another I would like to be able to. Also, does anybody know if you have to have a MS account to install this?
So when you buy this, do you immediately get emailed a key? How does this work? Can you transfer it to a different computer later? Is XLOOKUP in Excel 2021?
I would like to find MS-Dos 6.22 and Windows 3.1 to install in a virtual machine for some testing. Does anybody know if there are any isos for these that will make it easy (possible :)) to install in a VM?
Yes it stays powered (at least for the 30 secs I had it unplugged). I know I can replace the batteries (and they are quite old) but my problem is I can't decide whether this 'locking up' behavior is just bad batteries or the UPS itself is going bad. There is no point in me buying new batteries...
I have a Cyberpower CP1500PFCLCD ups. On a couple of different occasions I've had the ups seem to lock up and the devices connected to it powered off. The display showed that the battery was full. Nothing looked odd. However, I couldn't seem to turn it off by holding the power button. The way I...
Thanks. This is related to that option. None of the changes do what I want though. Currently when more than 14 workbooks are open the list is vertical. 14 or less it changes to horizontal with preview windows. Surely there is a place in the registry where you can change this value to 1 or...
I have to open several workbooks at once (like maybe 20). When I do the list of files are listed vertical when I hover over the 'excel' icon on the taskbar. I'll make a change to a workbook and then close it. When I get down to about 10 workbooks, the listing changes from vertical to...
The board is a P8BWS. It rarely happens but occasionally it happens when it goes to sleep. When it does it prevents me from booting up from WOL because it tries to boot from the DVD drive instead of the HD and there is no boot disk in it. I already checked the CMOS battery and it is reading...
I went through the steps and I downloaded the zip file it created. What do I do from here?
Nevermind I got it, just need to unzip and then run the proper script.
