Business is tough for just about every industry and will continue to be for at least the next 4 years. Having just built an FX6300 system, I know that this will be my last desktop CPU, in the future it will be an APU.
The AMD brand won't die, even if they are bought out.
Heat was my only issue and why I went with the 6300, I'm sure those 8 cores generate alot of heat and since my workstation is in my bedroom, I didn't want to have so many fans that my computer sounds like a vaccum cleaner.
AMD needs to work on power consumption and heat.

I work in the Network/IT support industry, I deal with tech headaches all day long. When I get home, I just want things to work with minimal problems, that is why I don't...
AMD makes a great CPU at it's price point, even with gaming 99.5% of human beings could not destinguish between my FX 6300 playing Metro 2033 and the highest priced Core i7.
Desktop software just isn't pushing current hardware to it's limits, lower priced items from AMD and Intel are "Good...
AMD is doing well on mainstream desktops, APU's sales are only going up. AMD also has deals with all 3 console makers for their next gen systems.
Future sales are not in 1K computers but 400 dollar systems, mobile and low power server.
This will prob be my last build that I use a separate CPU and Video card, APU's are the future, it's just that the A-10 isn't quite there yet far as gaming is concerned, AMD's next batch should be up to par.
AMD needs to get power consumption down on it's entire line of CPU's
Well guys, After going back and forth between a FX and Radon 7770 or just putting together an A10-5800K build, I went with the FX and Video card...
FX 6300
8 Gigs of 1866
Radeon 7770 1GB
Windows 8
With all stock settings, no overclocking of any kind I went and purchased Skyrim and...
For most people and even for most gamers the AMD FX CPU's are more than enough, especially at their pricepoints.
I just ordered my new build with an FX 6300, this will prob be my last pure CPU, by next gen both Intel and AMD will have gotten serious about APU's.
Well guys, I think that i've decided to go with an FX 6300 and a Radeon 7770 over an A10.
What wattage PS is recommended? I will not be overclocking anything.
Thanks in advance
I'm still torn between an A10-5800K and going with an FX6300 and a Radeon 7700...
My son wants to play skyrim and i'm not sure if the A10 would be enough.
Most Adults don't live on video games, they want decent performance at a good price. Just like myself I'm 39 and i'm about to build an all around workstation, I still love building my own systems and only occasionally game, the days of me spending 1500 on a gaming computer are over, in...
Thanks for the info, I'm not that big into games anymore, it's just that I'd like to play Skyrim at a halfway decent level.
Game here and there but certainly not every day.
I want a nice general useage PC, Light to moderate gaming.....
Skyrim and the upcoming Phantasy Star 2 Online, I'm not looking for a smackdown gaming rig.
A10-5800K or a new Piledriver 6300 and discreet low cost Vid card?
I don't want to build a full on gaming rig, when I simply...
I'm looking for a rock solid motherboard that will support the new Piledriver 6300 and Windows 8 out of the box, I would prefer Micro ATX and I do like either Asus or Gigabyte.
Thanks in advance
I will be building a new system in the next couple of weeks, it will either be the new FX 4 or 6 core, along with 16 Gigs of 1866.
I'm looking to do some light to moderate gaming, skyrim, diablo 3....
Looking for the best Radeon for under 150, low power would be better.
Thanks in...
I've been using this Phenom 1 9950 system for about 4 years, I have held off upgrading for the release of Win 8.
I'm going back and forth between an A10 5800K and a new FX either 4 or 6 core, although i'm building a new system just from a lifecycle standpoint, truth is that this current...
I will be ordering my new system soon, what is the most compatable and reliable Micro ATX motherboard that is out of the box ready for the FX processors.
Too many whiners on this site, must be Democrats....
If you don't like Bulldozer, buy Intel.... But by all means please stop whining... it's just a CPU.
I currently have a 24, which i'm giving my wife. My rig is a bedroom computer that I use for very light gaming but mostly Netflix and Blu Ray moves. I'm currently using a PC TV Antenna but it sucks, I'd like to have a dual purpose Computer Monitor and TV.
I will be connecting with HDMI...
I'm thinking of either going i3 or i5 Sandy Bridge this time around, i'm weighing the options VS going AMD FX.
I'm usually an Asus user, I will not be overclocking at all, what is a good rock solid Matx MB.
Thanks
I will be doing a budget build over the next few weeks, which Micro ATX board out now has Bios support for FX Processors?
I don't have a AM3 proc, so the bios must support FX out of the box.
I will be doing a December build and am thinking either FX 4 or 6 core, I want a MB that will work out of the box and not need a Bios update to recognize the processor.
Thanks in advance.
So basiically if I go with an FX 4100 or 6100 and get a modest Radeon Vid card, I should do ok With general usage, Netflix HD movies, Blu Ray Movies and Starcraft 2 once in a While.
I simply cannot wrap my mind around going with the dual core Sandy Bridge 2100 and I think that the 2500 is a...
