I recommend playing through the first one. The stories aren't really related but a lot of the characters carry over. It's just a great game, and if you enjoy the Witcher 2, you'll probably want to play through the first game but will bummed because the graphics aren't nearly as good.
Deus Ex is amazing. My only advice is to get perks that allow you to explore and take hidden paths. If you try to play it as a shooter, you'll probably get bored quickly (at least that's what happened to me).
I used to be into competitive multiplayer shooters, but I've moved away from them because I don't spend nearly as much time gaming anymore. Now I'm mostly into story-driven RPGs with great combat -- games like the Witcher and Mass Effect.
I'm a bit skeptical of the open-world setting because I find it makes RPGs less focused and less story-driven. Here's hoping that CD Projekt can pull it off.
I hope it's more like Doom 3 and not like Rage. I actually love sci-fi corridor crawls with shotguns and heavy weapons. Besides, that's what id does best.
Nah, I'm just looking for a mod that will allow me to remove an item's enchantment so that I use a different enchantment without having to make a brand new item. All the items I want to change are vanilla items.
Does anyone else suffer from progressively dropping framerates? When I start a new session, everything runs really well, usually with a minimum of 60 FPS. About a half hour into the game things start to slow down, and by an hour, the game is basically unplayable (FPS around 30).
I don't think...
I've really enjoyed using this carriage mod which adds carriage services to all of the major cities in Skyrim: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/8544
I started using this when I realized that fast traveling was ruining the game for me. Now, I try to avoid fast traveling unless I'm completing a...

Battlefield 3 is available for $10 too: http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-BF3/battlefield-3
Just curious: Do people still play CQ and AK, or are they pretty much dead?
I usually just stick to one multiplayer game and one single-player game. Occasionally, I'll play two single-player games at a time if I'm working on a big strategy game or RPG.
I'm beginning to think I should start playing more games at once. Whenever I approach the end of a single-player...
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory
I was looking for a stealth-based game after enjoying Deus Ex: HR so much. Chaos Theory fit the bill pretty well, even though it's a bit old. It's a shame the other games in the series don't hold a candle to it.
