PWM fans weren't a thing last time I built a PC 5-years ago.
If I'm using a PWM fan hub, all PWM fans, and have the hub plugged into a PWM mobo fan header, will I have individual control of each fan or will the speed of all fans on the hub be controlled simultaneously?
I know there's no guarantee it will post at 3000MHz, but is it somewhat safe to asssume that if 4 x 8GB Corsair Dominator (CMD32GX4M4B3000C15) is on my motherboard's QVL list for 3000MHz speeds that the same memory in 2 x 8GB will post (or can manually be set to) that speed as well?
Thanks, guys... this saved me some time. I wonder why "they" decided to change the hole pattern since it's obvious that it didn't need to be done. Here's a pic of the hole pattern change on the Crosshair VI Hero board dook43 mentioned.
I don't mind removing the AM3's plastic tab mount, but are you saying the hole pattern to install the Wraith cooler is different and/or the backplate won't work with my AM3 board?
Will a stock AM4 Ryzen 1400 Wraith HSF fit on an AM3+ FX-8350 / Asus M5A99X-EVO?
I'm going to dedicate an old AM3+ machine to a little home server, but the stock HSF's fan has been making a very slight bearing noise. I have a new Ryzen R5 that I'd like to replace the stock HSF on and it'd be...
GPU OUTPUT: 6870 w/ (2) mini-DP, (2) DVI, and (1) HDMI.
MONITORS INPUT: (1) DP, (1) DVI, and (1) VGA.
In order to connect all three monitors to the 6870 and run Eyefinity, will the following cables work?
One of these:
Card out DVI to monitor in DP.
Two of these:
Card out mini-DP to monitor...
Do you think they would send me 2 or 3... or am I getting too greedy? I'm going to add a 2nd video card at the end of the month and would prefer to have all three connected via DP.
Thanks Sniper. So your ALT+maximize shortcut attaches it to the grid... then once it's attached to the grid you can easily move it between the preset grids. Correct?
With Eyefinity, if I drag a window over from one monitor to another and maximize it, does it maximize in just that monitor or over the entire desktop?
If I add a 2nd video card, can I connect two monitors to one card and the 3rd monitor to the other... all connected via DP?
I have an XFX 2GB 6870 w/ two DVI, two mini DP, and one HDMI?
How do I connect three monitors to this card? Is there a difference in running multiple displays in Eyefinity and just normal extended desktop?
The monitors only have DVI and DP.
Do most games support three Eyefinity displays with 16:10 aspect ratio or will they default to three 16:9? Just wondering if games like BF3 and Skyrim will cut off the additonal 120 lines of horizontal resolution resulting in black bars at the top and bottom.
