Memory QVL Question

I know there's no guarantee it will post at 3000MHz, but is it somewhat safe to asssume that if 4 x 8GB Corsair Dominator (CMD32GX4M4B3000C15) is on my motherboard's QVL list for 3000MHz speeds that the same memory in 2 x 8GB will post (or can manually be set to) that speed as well?

Not sure what is the model of your board, but personally I almost never look at the QVL as new memory gets released quite frequently and MB manufacturers seldom update that list. That said, what you have will probably work nowadays.
