When I alt-enter to enter windowed mode I get a 20 fps boost. Seems kinda odd. Anyone have a clue why?

I'm not familiar with that audio setup. Does your motherboard support Dolby Digital Live or DTS Connect or is there software that comes with the headset that uses either of those technologies or a proprietary software/driver included with those headphones that encodes surround sound for headphones? Your audio device either isn't setup correctly or Deus Ex isn't properly working with the your audio device's software; if sounds are missing, then I would lean towards your audio device not functioning properly. When dealing with an optical connection, you can only transmit audio one of two ways: stereo or Dolby/DTS-encoded 6-channel audio. Is anyone else having surround sound issues with this game? I'm running the optical out on my motherboard to my SteelSeries H Wireless which have always been fantastic for me, but the sound is fucked. I played fine up until the point where I actually engaged enemies and then I realized the sound was totally jacked. Can't really hear gunfire, definitely can't hear anything behind me. What a bummer, first time I've really had an issue like this and I can't find a solution. I mean, there aren't any options in the game and when you're running out the optical on your MB there aren't any options there either.
I posted 1080gtx sli benchmarks a couple pages backHow does SLI work in this game?
I'm really torn on this game... I really want it but I don't want to support the ridiculous DLC practices.
I was hoping for a single GPU vs SLI comparison, but thanks anyway.I posted 1080gtx sli benchmarks a couple pages back

I tend to ignore microtransaction DLCs, unless they made the game impossible without such DLC (which I haven't heard anything of the sort), they just make the game easier, but not necessary for full enjoyment of the game.
If I buy the game anytime soon (unllikely, since I will need to get a GPU upgradefirst), I won't use them, especially considering they only last for 1 save game.
I am not entirely sure on this one, to be perfectly honest, but there was a mention of it one or two pages ago that it lasted for 1 save game.they only last for 1 save game?...what the hell?...so you pay with real $$ and don't even get to keep whatever you buy...that might be the most ridiculous microtransaction in history
Yet they managed to get 2 5$ DLCs out for release. Ingame money shop for microtransactions etc. Steam reviews are also not exactly good either. Constant crashes, unplayable etc. DLCs and microtransactions locked to a game save so you have to rebuy for a new one.

Are we talking about the pre-order DLC packs? I seriously hope that is not the case. That would be completely inane.
Eyup. The consumable items that come with pre-orders are one time use only. The developers are claiming it's due to some first party issues but I'm calling bullshit on that one. Here is an article about it: Square Enix apparently misleads with Deus Ex: Mankind Divided pre-order bonus
I do too, but the problem is that I don't want to support a company that does this at all. Honestly, I've bought every game I've played, but I am really tempted to do this. Either that or I'll pick it up when it goes on a mega sale.Pirate it. Seriously. I bought it, but when it's like this... just pirate it when it's available. Maybe buy it when it's 5 bucks or something if you feel bad. You'll probably have a better experience, too. Denuvo is probably one of the reason the game runs like shit.
You're just looking for a reason to pull that trigger, lol. You won't get any judgement from me, I'd be all bug-eyed and droolling too.
Dear lord, more Dev-outrage directed at another big release.
When will the madness end?!
In the original Deus EX non-fatal weapons were way OP compared to fatal ones. Tranq guns and tasers were all one hit disable weapons where bullets took multiple hits to kill unless you got a head shot, and depending on the enemy sometimes even those took a few.Getting the no fatalities achievement was actually the easiest way to play the game nearest I could tell since once a baddy was down they were effectively dead, they'd never get back up and chase you, never get up and sound an alarm, so the game was actually harder to play if you wanted to kill everything.
Is this one still like that or did they make tasers and tranqs temporary or at least not a guaranteed 'kill" if you just landed a hit anywhere on an enemies body?

Figured out a way to solve the problem for now at least.
2 x Titans on the way.
Had planned on it anyway even before this and I've got someone in my office who will take them off my hands if I change my mind within a month, so no loss to me.
Looking forward to seeing just how much better FFXIV runs maxed out with these. The 970's do ok but they struggle in raids. I'm likely still going to be a little CPU bound though.
Ah, the brute force method! Nice!
When all else fails... get a bigger hammer!
A $2400 hammer
I will certainly be looking forward to seeing your results. Hopefully the performance issues will be mitigated via software so that we don't have to resort to such measures, but I can't imagine that there will be anything for the foreseeable future that won't run well with horsepower of that magnitude.
Be sure and post numbers of both single card and SLI, since the SLI and CF results reported earlier were pretty wonky in some cases.
Here's a question about my inventory. So far, I'm finding tons and tons of beers, wines, and spirits. Do they serve any kind of purpose beyond the "combine" function? They're eating up a lot of inventory space.
I sell them, some bring a lot of credits. hopefully nobody asks for any. Note also, you have storage space in the house. So far, I'm finding tons and tons of beers, wines, and spirits. Do they serve any kind of purpose beyond the "combine" function? They're eating up a lot of inventory space.
Wow, this again? That always bugged me and yea i was that person that found a gun, dropped mine on the ground to pick up the other one, ran to the dealer to sell it, then ran back and picked up my original weapon. Friggin pain in the ass for farming some credits. The first game didn't really require you do that, but now with microtransactions it seems they're keeping up with the lame.I sell them, some bring a lot of credits. hopefully nobody asks for any. and speaking of selling stuff, the guns bring in a lot of money, but if you pick up more than one of the same type it eats the gun for the ammo. so... hopefully you have a dealer nearby
Mankind Divided and No Man's Sky is up for Irony Title of the Year.
We'll see if EA maintain it's hold on launch day fails in the Fall.
