Watch Dogs

If you can have that level of interaction with all building interiors like the one we saw in the demo...*drool*

That's one thing that always bugged me (though it is understandable) about GTA...the vast majority of buildings were simply blocks with usually fairly crappy textures on the outside, no interaction whatsoever.

Also, so far based on what we've seen I don't see this being anything like Deus Ex...probably more like GTA in the future with a bit more tech focus. Seems to be mostly based on you being either an avenger or a criminal, so maybe a little of Infamous thrown in there.

Yeah definitely.

so glad this thread got necro'd.

this game will be GOTY if you ask me. So far from what I have seen it has been the most intriguing game I have seen in a long time.

GTA with some Deus Ex elements sounds like easy GOTY potential for me. I hope this delivers on the hype. It sure LOOKS amazing based on everything we've seen thus far.

So what's going to happen here? PC and current gen consoles get this...late summer time?... PS4 and Xbox 720 versions come some time after that?

I'm hearing rumors of a PS4 exclusivity window...I wouldn't expect the PC version until December 2013 at the earliest

that would blow. even if i buy a ps4 i would still wait and get this on PC first.

It's Ubisoft so if it's anything like their previous game, PC version a month after consoles. Sad :( This game still looks incredible and I am more hyped for this than GTA to be honest.

dude that pic is fuckin sexy as shit.

i can't stop staring at the cityscape. best damn detail i've ever seen on that shit.

This simple description alone warrants a strong following if executed properly. I had a blast playing Saints Row 3 & Sleeping Dogs. This one may add to my joy of open world gaming. :D

Whoa whoa, link that shit buddy. First I've heard of this.
Last we heard is its coming to all consoles including WiiU and PC, in November.

Watch_Dogs will be available on PS4 at launch, along with its release on the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, the Wii U™ system from Nintendo and Windows PC.

That implies same time. That was from the press release last night.

^^ I like this narrative better but November-December basically puts on when at least the PS4 is going to launch anyways,.

Me, too. Frankly the GTA series could learn a few things from those games but I digress. ;)

Watch Dogs will be a PS4 launch title, PC release after...As the PlayStation 4 is set to launch during the holiday season, this likely means PC gamers will get to try it in early 2014...

http://www.pcgamesn.com/watch-dogs-...tle-pc-release-after-ubisoft-show-new-screens

being that Ubisoft constantly talks about the console version whenever talking about the game and barely mentions the PC this is not too surprising

Hmmm.....
Typical Ubisoft.
PC is the lead platform, there's no reason for them to do that.

And they would do just that, just like they delayed Rayman Legends for WiiU. That game went gold last month, and they decided to delay it till September, last week. What a dick move...

Oh, I thought you meant the screenshots in the post just above yours. Yeah, he does look kinda similar from this distance.

As expected. I expect to see some other games get pushed back for the same reason.

Possibly even GTA 5.

seems like PS4 is now the lead platform :(

when the game was first announced Ubisoft made sure to talk about the PC a lot but I've noticed that lately they are only talking about next-gen consoles...hopefully this won't end up like Alan Wake which was hyped to be the next PC hardware showcase and ended up as an afterthought once Microsoft paid them a boatload of $$

It'll probably be multiplatform for everyone but they're going to sit on it until the PS4 launches. (And possibly next Xbox.)

It's still PC, what was shown last night was a video from the current PC build. (Which is the only working build right now.) Oh well, doesn't matter if it doesn't come out first, right? I though Ubisoft liked money... just silly.

I would still be concerned (maybe more then concerned?) as this sounds earily familiar to what happened with Alan Wake...announced and demo'd on the PC as a Vista exclusive...after 4 years of having repeatedly demonstrated the Windows version, in 2009, Remedy confirmed that the game was being developed exclusively for the Xbox 360 and the decision to make a PC version was in Microsoft's hands

now fast forward to 2012/2013...wouldn't surprise me at all if Sony throws a truck full of $$ at Ubisoft to make this a high profile PS4 exclusive launch title...Ubisoft has already shown that they cater more to consoles then PC by giving most console titles a 3-4 week head start (Assassin's Creed series being the best example of this)...plus over the past few months I'm noticing less emphasis on PC discussion of the game and a lot more press releases and interviews discussing 'next-gen' consoles...just something to keep an eye on

Wouldn't surprise me at all. Hope not, though. I really want Watch Dogs cranking on my PC with my GTX680.

Just now came across this thread. I don't really care about PC vs PS4 rumors and release date. I do, but if I had to buy a PS4 just to play this game, I probably would. It looks that amazing.

I am a little doubtful that the actual game will play that smooth though. The ending scene is ridiculously complex graphically. Also, there has to be more guidance from the game, as there is no way anyone could time that light just right without knowing to do that.

I'm cynical right now, but very hopeful at the same time. This is the best looking game I've ever seen and if the whole game is like the gameplay in the video, great things are to come.

I highly doubt that:

I'll be looking forward to Watch Dogs 2. Everyone should know by now that Ubisoft Montreal's first installments of IPs with bold new directions are often notoriously bad (Assassin's Creed, Far Cry 2, etc).

Well as you may know, devs showcase most games at an unfinished state (optimization wise), and just power through it with top of the line hardware. The optimizations (the true optimizations) come later down the road, several months prior to release. While that scene (I know exactly what you're on about) is demanding, there's zero reason to doubt it won't run reasonably when it's released, on modern hardware. I wouldn't fret about it.

I'm convinced that you do Sudoku puzzles while sipping decaf coffee in the morning, muttering to yourself about how games COULD have been. Hahaha. :) ;)

"If they just did that ONE thing...JUST ONE...shit!"

That's bad news.

When Amazon puts something at the nebulous December 31 date it means it's up in the air.

Don't hang your hat on that at all.

I do, and wish I could. I need another 5-6 hours of sleep this week heh. :(

Must...not...rest...Persona 4...!

I hope that December date isn't true!

It's not even a real date. I know how Amazon works. It means they don't have a friggin' clue when it's coming out and there's no concrete date at all. It's a placeholder.

Well I figured it's a placeholder, but I just hope it's the worst placeholder on earth.
