Yes Witch Hunters and Witch Elves get stealth its called incongnito for the Witch Hunter. Both abilities slowly drain AP and make you stealthed (when stealthed you can still run at regular speed). Using all your AP you can stay stealthed for about 1 min. The abilities have a 30 sec resuse timer.

- I still don't see any up to date graphics, texturing or lighting & shadows. Must have played too much Witcher and LotrO, but this game (graphics wise) really is only a bit better than World of Warcraft, but still looks horrible in comparison to current gen MMOs.
- The most disappointing part was the graphics. It looks like they tried to split the line between LOTRO and WoW and ended up with something very mediocre.
- I know there have been talk about a high resolution texture pack coming. Not sure whether that'll make release or anything, but yeah, it would look really great with it.
- The open beta graphics seem a tad blurry. Have they limited the resolution for beta or something? I maxed the settings and I can't tell the difference.
- The last update added a few more options, but they are still at the basic level. Also, the graphics get atuomatically degraded for RvR right now.
- I'm not trying to be snarky, but is the game STILL in fullbright mode? No shadows at all?

There are shadows all over the place. I don't know what game he's playing but he didn't set anything up for War.
Not all the textures are in the beta.
In the patch on the elder server there is an option to set how many textures you want to cache.
Force AA and AF in your video card settings and it looks alot better.
Make sure you set your resolution correctly. It's looks beautiful at 1920x1200 on my 24" LCD.
If you have LOTRO graphics you will lag like crazy in any kind of PvP. As it stands now you have 100 people on the screen with no lag. And since it's an RvR game it's kinda important to not lag.
Witch Hunters and Witch Elves both have a stealth skill. It doesn't last very long so if people get any intentions of ganking like they do in WoW, they'll be in for a disappointment.

People keep saying there will be a bump in graphics/textures but mythic hasn't said anything other than there's a bug that's blurring the textures already in the game now. I've said it a few times I think too but now that I look at the beta boards, Mythic hasn't ever said we're getting a high-res texture bump.
They have said it. Not on the beta boards. They have also said the blurry texture bug has been fixed. And I can confirm that. There are various blogs and interviews at any number of sites. I don't know which one off the top of my head but this was covered on one of them.

I still get it along with several other people on the beta boards. It's improved but the overall problem is still there. I logged on this morning to confirm and yep.. it's there still.
Hopefully, they can get it squared away soon but it's not a deal breaker for me. I'd much rather them work with ATI and get AA/AF working.

I haven't had blurry textures in quite awhile. And my AA and AF work fine on my ATI card. Always have. This issue must be centered around certain configs as I am unaffected.
Really? I'd love to see some screenshots then with AA working on your PC. AA works with the game for most people when they are in the character select screen but as soon as the game loads it's jaggies galore. Nvidia users can get AA/AF working out of the box.. so to speak.
Archer75 what res are you running the game at? Is that your system specs in your sig? Im running with a 8800 gts type system and was just wondering how well i could run the game...I want to run at 1440x900 atleast with medium settings without any slow downs....
Any particular area you would like a screenshot from?
Also on the beta boards there is no mention of blurry textures under the known issues thread.
You won't have any problems. Yes those are my specs. I run at 1920x1200
There's a 7 page thread at the top on the 4.1 Bug Reports section in the Tech Issues subsection. It's also complete with screenshots.
I'd like a screenshot of the character select screen and just a few ransom shots of whatever your character is doing. Any location. If you get the see-thru chrarcters when you load the game, there's a good chance AA/AF isn't working. There's also several threads about AA w/ ATI cards on the boards as well.

Not all of them, I love the ones that go at a steady 500+ kb/sec. I have the regular 6mbps service.
Theres not many torrent choices for this. And I never could get the hang of newsgroups.

Witch elf having any kind of stealth skill is disgrace for the system imho and looks like trying to mirror order characters.
Of course they are trying to mirror them. Or rather have similar skills sets so each class has a counterpart. It's a good idea. Makes all classes important.
Every class has a mirror in this game. They are complete carbon copies but the mechanics between a majority of the classes are similar.
For example:
Witch Hunter <---> Witch Elf
Warrior Priest <---> Disciple of Khane
Marauder's mirror class?
I imagine it would be the hammerer, which was cut from launch.

2 days dl,ing from a torrent or 24 ait in a queue where you get disconnected every 6-8 hours...Great Job on releasing this I want my money back...

The cut classes were 2 melee dps mirrors (orc and dwarf), and 2 tanks (chosen's mirror and IB's mirror).
Since you didn't buy open beta, you either pre-ordered the game or got a free key somewhere, you really can't get your money back. And they haven't released it. Not till next week. Please note the "beta" in open beta.
You should have downloaded earlier in preperation. There are more than one torrent to choose from. And newsgroups.

It was not available earlier...Had to input a "key" into file planet. Unless the closed beta is the same thing, but how was I supposed to know that?
It could have been download via torrents earlier.
Also with fileplanet you could also download it as soon as their promotion started which was a week or two ago.
exactly, I downloaded it a week or 2 ago, granted it took time but I just had to download a quick patch and everythign was ready to play.

Yeah but to anyone familiar with warhammer tabletop and roleplaying games idea of sneaky witch elf is abomination.
Played this for a good couple of hours tonight, im now up to level 8 as a bright wizard and have pushed upto the borders if the RvR area. I've had a lot of fun in the scenario both kicking arse and getting my arse kicked. I've been in a bunch of public quests and have been earning influence for rewards which is cool.
I'm just really enjoying it so far, i really want to hit level 10 before I enter the RvR area so I don't get my ass totaly handed to me, just taking a break at the moment, to catch up with some tv and eat, and post a bit. I may actually go back and re-roll as human tank because we have so many bright wizards it's stupid, huge volleys of fireballs but once their tank gets in close it's all over in the scenario

Well I would say the download situation was definitely poorly handled. 10GB is just too much data for a lot of people to reliably get at the speeds FilePlanet is sending it out at. Not to mention it just takes a damn long time when you look up and see 80KB/s speeds with 9.3GB left to download. Simply put an EA/Mythic provided Torrent would have made this whole process significantly easier for many people, though I suspect FilePlanet paid for exclusive distribution rights regarding the Open Beta, so its just ridiculous when they can not provide decent speeds for those files and force you to use their download app. Heck they should have just made the download app work with Torrents for situations like this...
There are torrents.
And the fileplanet download speeds are VERY fast for paying subscribers. It's just slow and there are queues for those who are not subscribers, which is to be expected. Also the download was available for at least a week before open beta so people could have it ready.
Also the 10gb download isn't even the full client. It was cut back for that very reason. The final client is 15gb.
yup the torrent download was released a while before the fileplanet download and everyone complained the torrent was to slow (I downloaded in 24 hours wiht the torrent)

I just got the key emailed over the weekend...How would I have been able to download it from FP before I got the key? They were requiring a key to access the file...
I didn't think to download the closed beta that I could nto play anyways plus who knew it would be the same as the open beta? At least its going now, but I doubt I will get a chance to play it anytime soon

well that's the whole point. fileplanet buys eclusive distro rights, the torrent got pulled since fileplanet wants people to pay for the faster download to a game people already paid for, then people are stuck waiting a few days for the download or paying fileplanet.
they should have left the torrent up for another option instead of forcing people to enter in their personal info on fileplanet. forcing people to go hunt for good torrents or pay fp for reasonable data speeds is a bit unfair
