Nope, its AS5, just look at his sig. It says Artic Silver 5 in the list, like its some kind of feature in his computer. He also lists his mouse and keyboard in there, as well as some cathodes....like thats important
Sorry to be overzealous with the specifics. I've edited the sig so it will now display and took out all those needs-to-stay-unmentionables. This is the first system I've put together with a lot of toys and accessories, short of some led fans, so I'm kind of anxious to see what it'll look like once pushing the power button will yield a boot.

Well shoot, I thought my sig would display. I shortened it to 7 lines, but it still doesn't seem to be appearing. What gives? Any ideas?

you must have sig's disabled. i can see it. it says:

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Rev. E (still awaiting arrival)
Gigabyte GA-K8NXP-SLI
eVGA 6600GT
2GB (512x4) KingMax PC3200 C2.5
Thermaltake Shark case in black
Thermaltake 560W Purepower
Thermaltake BigWater liquid cooling

Aye, I here ya. Thats the worste part, waiting on a CPU when you have the rest of your rig ready....all you want to do is fire it up. On the bright side tho, it gives you time to give your water cooling a thurough leak testing. Have you been running it while you wait on a CPU?

yup, i need to figure out how i'm gonna arrange the data for the venice oc data thread. updating a picture every time there's a new core in it was a pain. any suggestions?

You could try this (tab delimited table from either Excel or a text editor)

Code:
one	two	three
four	five	six

Or if you sling PHP you can use it to autocreate images. Pity there's no actual table tags on the forum...

Not yet, but that's on my agenda. I just got it in the mail a few days back and haven't had the opportunity to do a preliminary run. Had a friend that flushed the inside of his case a few years back with a diy koolance kit because he never bothered to leak test the thing. Poor sap. Hehehe

The longer you can do it the better. Insureres that everything is secure and the your not gunna run into any problems....and its a great opprotunity to set it up before you have hardware on the line if there is a leak. Does that case have a removable mobo tray?

ash, that's about how i have it set up now.. but it's not too pretty.

doormat worked up an awesome database webpage for me a while ago, but sadly it never got put into use.
(sorry doormat!!! :()

i really wish i could use a bit of php though.. at the very least, some html tags.

hahaha, cell.. notice that i address VIPER in the first word of my post? :p

edit: also, frallan suspected that this thread had about 5 pages left.. back in page 40 :D
LOL sorry it was early in the morning

I was thinking PHP to make a GD image and embed that, you'd have to host it though.

Think if we poke at the admins they'd get around to building some basic table functions into this thing?

yeah, i could host it, but i highly doubt the admins will let me put any php into the post. :(
and i was just fiddling around with a bigger code block.. there's a limitation to the code quote size, so i don't think that will work too well.
i would just convert the excel document to html and host that, but firefox doesn't play well with the code excel makes.

the last option would be to take the time to write up a proper html file that would make it easy to enter new entries.. and still look decent. :p

It sure does! What I really like about the case too is that I have the option of mounting the cooling kit either outside or inside the case. I feel that Thermaktake did a pretty decend job with engineering, for both the BigWater kit as well as the Shark case. I'm glad to see a manufacturer that produced a case with the water cooling mounts already on it.

Just got the lapping done on my water block. Wow, what a shine! Hopefully it helps lower temps even more, even if just a little.

it's monday! :p :D

no real reason. time to do some scouring to see if any vendors work off eastern time

WOOHOOOO! Another day of getting my hopes up, constant refreshing, and a few wasted hours.

To hell with it.

ha, well the funny thing is that i don't even want a venice/san diego

newark on the other hand... *drool*
but that's enough spamming from me for tonight.

Newark eh?

*looks at eclipses sig*

I'd never have guessed :p

If you are passionate about S754, San Diego and Venice are meaningless to you. Unless of course, you look at them in the sense that they are the foundation of Newark.

Hey Eclipse, I noticed you are using an XP-90C. What kind of idle and load temps are you seeing with your overclocked 3700? If you had any guesses, what kind of temps do you think you might see with a Venice?

i am? don't get my sig confused with baron's sig ;)
he has an xp-90c. he told me the other day, just after putting on the heatsink that he was getting 40c load temps with a bugged temp sensor.
i personally have a zalman cnps-7000cu. it's nice, but doesn't compare in any way. :D

but, venice should be around the same temps as winchester, seeing as they have the same max TDP of 67w

Sheesh. My bad. These late night hours are getting to me as well. Thanks for the clarification.

Reporting in on the most ot thread (probably the most read thread in the forum as well) in the forum after a well deserved 1 day vacation and a weekend .

Fron up dated with ETA & prices on Monarch nothing that Ive seen indicates any1 acctually having their hands on them yet though (and yes im talkin about Venice/San Diego - not DTRs Memory Sticks or your grannys underskirts)..

If i need to post somethingh on the frontpage just post it or PM me and Ill do it asap.

And the poll resaults are in The Venice CPUs will, in the future, be refered to as:

*Fanfare* Venice CPUs *Fanfare*

86 voters took part in the poll and 45% voted for "Venice"

Now that opens up the question about the San Diegos...

Sunny or Sanny perhaps? ;D

Well, 8:43am on Monday, and no Venice anywhere to be seen. :(

I'm really not too enthused about paper launches.. we know they've got the inventory, don't release these things until you intend on shipping :(

Maybe Friday at NewEgg?

i'd cry but see if its not going to be release for may ill just go ahead and spend money on my jeep instead, i may love computers but fuck it

in before the 1k post milestone!

i want my san diego!
mad.gif

(although i really cant afford it right now...)

haha, who's actually gonna get the 1k post?!

and i know that feeling. the only reason i can justify buying a new cpu is cause my current cpu + mobo will be handed down to my parents.

I AM!

i really cant justify it - im considering holding off as this one does 2.5 anyway... and i just dont have the extra 150 to spare right now... :( gotta save up for college at this point - money supply is hurtin right now
