i'm wating for the DTR chips that should be based on san diego. Newark if you pay attention to the amd roadmap at all.
and i know i'm not the only one who is excited about them :D
(i kinda forgot about it for a while with the launch of Turion, but now that i realize turion is just lancaster, and not newark, my crusade continues)
 
oh god i just spent 1500 on a new laptop and still havent gotten a new venice for my main rig yet. and another XXXXXXXX ;) for a second computer

The Winchester I've got overclocks good enough, I'm just all hyped over the Venice chips. Any great ideas what to do with it instead of return it? Already got an A64 system that'll be getting the Venice, and a 2.4C with 9800 Pro that's for my girl to use, and Celeron out the rear end that may get pressed into fileserver/firewall/domain/etc use. Any killer ideas?

just out of curiosity, is that 3200+ a clawhammer? tried your hand in oc'ing it yet?
 
Just gave my swanky new setup its first dusting.

And it's never even been turned on yet.

Pointed the compressed air can at the empty 939 socket more out of spite than any real feeling dust had actually got in the pin holes yet..

2 more days till the 15th, I'm subscribing to the line of thought we might see San Diego and Venice show up both on or near then.. makes sense. Eclipse, you've said, so we know, they've got the stockpile.. just up to them when it gets here. Clawhammers are still able to be bought; they couldn't possibly sell ALL the previous cores before shipping Venice. it'd take too long I would think

Eh, it's worth a try. Turned out to be a CBBID but then again some of the "better" batches can't hit 2.5GHz, and at the least it has one of the "good" Winchester memory controllers.

Damnit...actually no, either the difference between the refund and the FS/FT would be small enough as to not be worth the extra worry, or it'd be big enough that I'd feel guilty about it.
 
It's been active since late January, and alot of those are from the same people over and over any time there's a new post...*cough*...which I wouldn't know anything about, nope, nothing...
 
yea i know its been going along time and the same people have looked at it over and over again but still 27,000 is ALOT of views
 
most of these people viewing are just lurking while the select few here actually post and update.

i notice there are only a batchful of people here that are always active though, hahah just soo used to seeing the same people over and over now.

well there will always be Turion.. and sometime soon, Newark, and whatever it will make it to market being called.
then the dual core chips.. the opterons should be in time to make it in this thread before it dies odd.
 
Okay, like whack me if I'm just missing the point cuz I'm sleepy.

Front page of Slashdot (which we all know isn't always the most reliable source) cited Intel dual cores as being out approximately now, and dual core Opterons in about a week. Dual core A64 in about June.
 
i was pretty sure it would go in this order (not sure where xeon falls into this)

Opteron dual core, then Pentium D, lastly A64-X2

Ok once the Venice (has 40% of the votes and is in a clear lead) is out htere Ill wipe most of the Front page, Ill just keep some links and some quotes, and then start the DC debate up with some new links and a new debate... LoL We'd might acctually make it at least 5 pages more after that b4 the thread finally goes to its well deserved rest (I think I might regret posting this...)

U really - really need to get a life.... Well Im not at all sorry that your around it just means that I have to explain a lot less of the whys & whats to n00bs, Ill just point at U.
 
i think part of my problem is that i normally don't have class until 12:00, so i can sleep in a bit, thus i can't fall asleep at night. so this is how i kill my time..
or tweaking my rig.. but there's only so much i can do with that before i've tweaked everything and know my system inside out and backwards, so that doesn't take up much time anymore.

but you're right. i need a new hobby. maybe i should learn how to levitate. i know i have more than enough spare time at night to figure something out :D

in the meantime though.. i keep posting. and hopefully inform you guys of things you want to know and solve problems.

shit i work for IT and its ok at times. pay sucks and knowing the max i can get down the future is horrid. unless you are the shit and an engineer for pc's i high recommend you change majors if u are doing it.

no, its correct. It is release to retailer on that day, then retailer get the stock but they won't be able to sell it yet. They need to stock up, count, put a comp code for every item etc etc to prepare for selling. That's why they said it may take 6-8 weeks b4 they will be on sale.

same as NCIX.com but they won't ship the products til stocking is done. Preorder can be quite a long time :rolleyes:
