I am not going to put effort into it anymore because no one can come to an agreement and at that AGREE TO STAY IN AGREEMENT, its retarded. If you are going to have some act like babies, than you do the lesser of the two evils..... No matter what decision we would have made, someone would have been mad ANYWAY, sorry.

I just looked back in the thread and I don't see anyone talking about the 1.7-1.8 switch other than the size of the map.
 
will our inventory copy over? As in the stuff we have on our characters? That would be something at least

As far as tryin to say hash was rude..... Hell yes he was ! He was so emotionnal that i had to calm him sometimes. Who cares! I dedicate some stuff i build to him. Why? Cause he made me enjoy MC. The rocket was a metaphore. I intended to make it so we could visit him in heaven. Was for fun. Hash was far from a godly figure. But i liked him cause he was true, wich is rare in these times.

Anyway. Insomn is running the server like it should have been from day one. With an iron hand! I support him on this decision.

Let's stick with the original plan that was decided over a month ago, that we had agreed on then, problem solved.

Now if you don't mind, I'm going to go protest in a tree in the 1.7 server. :)

Here's the deal, there's been so much confusion as to what's going on, some people agreeing, others not. Not only in the forum, but in game as well.

It's gotten to the point where we've had little choice but to just make a decision and run with it. The admins have made a decision, we're already on the move to make it happen, and while feathers will be ruffled, it is going to have to stick. We don't do this to be rude and to be assholes. But we just have to.

Why? Because we don't have endless amounts of energy to make these things happen. Nor do we have all the time in the world to do these things as well.

Remember that we're people too. Everything people suggest need to be implemented by someone. That someone being us. G1, Insomni, and me. We have family's and responsibilities outside of MC, and so we have to balance all of these things, and still keep our community happy.

So please, bare with us.

Thanks for making a final decision, the discussion was getting out of hand. To be honest I probably would have left the server if we were to keep the 1.7 map, as 1.8 terrain is MUCH more interesting to explore and build on.

I think people are forgetting this game is still in beta, and anyone who builds in a beta game should be prepared to lose their work regardless of whether or not the game changes.

Sorry, I have been asleep and sick today so I am just now catching up on what has all happened.

#1 I knew hash. I played on his servers and although I don't think he was a dick, since he was actually really nice to me. I still don't want to take up a huge section of the new map to a memorial to him. When I say that you bump your ass on a tribute to him I mean it. With every new group project we did someone always dedicated something to him. It really got to where no matter what cool thing you go to on the map there was some kind of tribute to him.

#3 G1 you talk about going far out from spawn. Well to begin with I was a pretty good ways from spawn but the memorial just kinda grew so much that it came to Dyn's and my doorstep. We just accepted that.

#3 Although I do spend a bit of time at my "Mansion" I also venture out a lot. I go out and just walk around to see what has all been made. I look for new places to build and everything.

#4 I'm saddened that the 10 stacks of diamonds I mined out will not be going with me ( this is part of my venturing out of my "mansion") . I spent a lot of time getting them for Dyn and myself. Not to mention other valuable items I have stored up as well. when we were all talking about just opening a portal and moving our stuff over through it I was all done for it and scrapping 1.7 after people got things transferred. And that was a big step for me since I didn't want to let go of 1.7.

You guys as admins can make all the decisions you want. I suppose its who all things go when you have leaders the people never have a true say. Pshh Politics!

I'm not sure what I will decide from here. Either way I have had a lot of fun playing with all of you. I hope you all continue to build grand and wonderful things and I hope that you all have lots of fun on the game. Maybe I will continue to play. Maybe not. It will have to be something I'll have to think about.

Oh and DP try not to blow everything Up..
 
1. Is it really that bad that people chose to make memorials to Hash?
2. How is your build "far out from spawn"? It's a stones throw away from spawn! Rampage's place, DGerry's place, Fweeps place, THOSE are far away from spawn. Your's is practically right next to it. If you really had a build THAT far away and suddenly a memorial popped up next door. Yeah I can understand why that would upset you. But you're literally right across the waterway from spawn.

I hope you will continue to play in the world. We do enjoy your company. I personally have enjoyed talking to you during our gaming sessions about books, and seeing your build. We're not trying to run the server as a dictatorship, but as has been said above, it's gotten to the point where we just need to make a decision. No amount of polling, or community decisions matters anymore, because it keeps on getting changed at the last moment anyways.

I don't mind that a memorial is built I was saying don't make a Huge one like the one on 1.7 map. make it small and the center of a city that we can build around. That was all I was saying.

and The Memorial on 1.7 started out a pretty good distance away from dyn and myself. it just expanded so much that it came to our doorstep. The waterway is between us and spawn and I'm not trying to down the memorial that was built. I helped on it a little but I never expected it to grow so large and to come so close to us. I think what was built was amazing.

And I'm glad to have had the conversations we do on various books, movies, and stuff. But this will be something I will have to think about. I know you guys are doing the best you can with the amount of people we have. But it is a community and as such everyone should have a voice. I liked the idea of people who wanted to bring items over could. That I can understand no economy add was going to be put in so it wouldn't really matter if people wanted to bring stuff over. I can only voice my opinion. I will set back and allow you guys to decide what you wanna do. Then I will make my decision on what I will do.
 
I haven't been on Minecraft in a few days, waiting on this whole brouhaha to get sorted out before I come back, if we end up doing a map wipe, I would support that because it would give me incentive to play again and come up with better creations.

I would probably make Failhenge again, that was funny and awesome.

Exactly, a wipe just gives us reason to make bigger and better builds! Build whatever you like! I'll most likely build a better underground lair. I'm hoping to tie into an abandoned mine shaft or ravine as well.

I can't wait for the new 1.8 server. I learned a lot during my time in the previous server and look forward to making something AWESOME!
 
and the sooner it happens the better. Hate having to wait for all the cool features on the real server. Not trying to be an ass, just not good at waiting :(
 
I think an interesting idea would be to expand the server in stages, say, start with 500x500 and expand by 100 every month or something.

I remember when Hash passed away, some were concerned about what they built.

I'm not. I'm not concerned about anything I've built. Its a SANDBOX game. I have plenty of photos of Hash's memorial, and a few other things I've built. But I didn't build them to stand the test of "time" or updates.

Wipe the sucker, and prepare yourselves with a mad-dash land-grab!

Perhaps the community can come together for some simple, massive MEGA project? That might help any torn feelings of the older server...
 
Yeah, i've posted time and time again about collaboration, but it's hard to get people to work together on something.

So what I think I could propose is we come up with some kind of concept or idea that we can all work on that does NOT REQUIRE us all to be online at the same time to work together on.

Basically an idea that anybody can work on no matter when they are online or who is online, you simply just add what contributions you can to the project and everyone else does the same, and before you know it, it's a completed work.
 
By starter pack we mean having a starting set of items in your inventory. Tools, materials, things to help get you started and building quickly. And to hopefully ease some of the pain of wiping the inventory.

Well, a diamond axe, pick, and shovel would speed the process along greatly, and i'd get one of those anyway, you all have seen my mine, so you all know i'm a serious digger.

Punch a tree.
Make a crafting table.
Make a wooden tools.
Mine stone.
Make stone tools.

Build shit.
