any one happen to have a link to the 1.7.3 download, or even a zip of their minecraft directory so I can still get on the server and start to pull my place apart for the pieces

Anyone that doesnt like "bumping your ass" on it can stay away from it.
 
I'm probably not going to be on until we get the final 1.8 server up. In other words, get a move on! :D

Edit: I understand it's going to take a bit, waiting on Bukkit and all. Most of this post was in gest :)

I'm sure this is about to make many rage and end up hating me.

It seems many look at Hash with rose-colored glasses.

I can think of many conversations I had with him, some in the old Minecraft thread.

He didn't trust any of us to not cheat.

I was discussing an economy with him when he first set up his server. The conversation ended with him calling me an idiot because I disagreed with him. Why do you think I never played on his server again after day one?

The thing that bothers me most was how hypocritical he was. He would make fun of any of the newer players on Sul's server asking for spawned items. He would tell them to stop being lazy and mine their own materials. Later he would then ask me for stacks of stuff to work on his railway.

So, feel free to go ahead and hate me for not hero worshiping someone that was basically an ass every time I interacted with him.
 
Clearly your interactions were different than many.
That being said, i agreed with him on many of his stances. Look at the [H] server, with people's chests being raided, griefers getting in, etc. His fears were not unfounded. We all remember Zigg's/Zexx's (I forget who it was) folley. ROFL.

What does seem unfounded is your random rant against how some people around here feel about someone who passed away quite a while ago and with whom you didn't interact with much in-game.Just sayin', where did all this come from?
 
My rant comes from everything always being dedicated to him. I have found random trees way out in Hardcraft with a sign next to them "Dedicated to Hashmang"

I interacted with him for a good while on Sul's server. I was playing before he even started

He basically said that anyone he allowed to build on his server would be running the spawning mod. Hello, just because someone can doesn't mean they will.

I was the first person to test out his new server. Then he started discussing ideas with me on how to setup an economy. He wanted dirt and cobble to be worth a much higher value. I told him since they were so easy to get people would mine out tons of dirt and cobble to just trade in for diamonds and such. He told me and I loosely quote "You're an idiot if you think people would stripmine out dirt to trade in." That was my last interaction with him.

Yes, I am sorry he passed. It was a tragic situation that no one is deserving of having happen. The current memorial is amazing. My only point is that every other thing doesn't have to be "in Hashmang's memory."

Anyways, BB, I don't mean to be overly hostile towards you. I posted that before leaving for work. So I had 45 minutes during the drive to think it through.

The reason I'm so upset at this is that besides arr4ws memorial near his rocket, the only other build in Hash's honor is the memorial. Oh and I think the rocket is as well. But really, that's not "everywhere you go".

Also, I only ever see you in your campus/complex/mansion anyways! So when are you bumping into all these untold memorials???

I actually find this more insulting then anything else. You pick the memorial as something you don't want to see in the new build?! Instead of focusing on the unfinished builds, the skyways just floating around not even finished or leading anywhere, or the neatly strip mined areas where suddenly a huge chunk of the land is just missing?

I can honor my friend however I see fit. And damn your eyes for saying otherwise.

I do apologize for being so angry at this and possibly flying off the handle... but it is really upsetting.

I agree with nick on the memorial issue. A new memorial should not be an issue.

Also I think we may as well wait for a new thread for the "retail" release.

Did we actually come to a conclusion on the multi worlds with a portal between for the migration?
 
It's not like you even play on the server anymore anyways DyN. At this point all you're doing is trolling.

I never played on the original [H] server, but I did play on Hashland through multiple reboots, and Hash was never like that to me or many other people. Sure he waffled a bit on how he ran the server, but he was always very honest about it.

It's been proven now that Hash was not wrong in his assumptions of the average player. You give them tools, and they will abuse it eventually. He wasn't wrong in his fear to assume we're all cheaters. Also, I hate to pull a "you wouldn't understand" card; but I don't even run this server, I only admin over it, and I'm nervous about every new face I see, nervous that they'll be a griefer, cheater, or asshole. It's weight that falls on admins shoulders. So sue him for being open about his fear.

Bottom line, Hash may not have been the best admin, but he was a great friend. That is why I'll be building a memorial.
 
I don't play on the server anymore? That is news to me. I was on just last night. Sure, I have not been playing as much lately with what is happening with deciding on what do with the map situation.

And no, not everyone is a cheater. He was even talking about people he had already played with for a while, not just new players.

Based on our interactions, i think you're a decent individual, but you're off the mark here. If you want to rag on the guy for his admin style or what you see as unnecessary fears, alright, but if you think it's his admin-ing that leads to the dedications and the memorial, you are way out of left field.

Those of us that spent time on [H]ashland really enjoyed the atmosphere he built. Corsair bay, even Zigg's folley (spawning untold amts of tnt), and countless other structures were due largely because of how he ran things, as a person and as a friend. His server represents time and camaraderie that we sunk into him and each other. There's value there, and the memories are good ones.

If you can't understand why we would want to raise a memorial in the memory of those times, and the person who was a friend to everyone who spent any amount of time there, that's ok. But you need to know that YOU JUST DON"T GET IT, and saying the things you are saying is not going to go anywhere but down.

I think you are all insane :D, also, I kind of like the idea of sheer cliffs if we were to convert the existing map to v1.8. Me mad scientist at heart has some ideas. :)
 
It isn't about his admining style or how he ran his server. That was his call.

Its about his hypocritical interactions.

Newbie1337: "Hey, can I get some diamond tools and stuff to get started?"
Hashmang: "No, stop being lazy and go mine your own stuff like I did."

**Thirty minutes later**

Hashmang: "Hey Dynamic, can you spawn me 9 stacks of rails so I can finish my railway?"

I understand you all might have had a great time with him. I on the other hand, did not. I'm sorry if my opinion upsets any of you.


I just don't want our limited map area to be consumed by arr4ws "bigger and better" memorial. Not that it matter much anymore for myself. I am quite sure I won't be very welcome anymore.

I think what you are trying to do is discredit Hashmang for whatever reason...he isn't here with us anymore and I think you just need to stop trying to change peoples opinion of him it's not gonna work. Now lets just move on, either you are with us for the move to 1.8 or you not. Lets just stop this bickering about Hash this and Hash that.....ok?
 
You should have checked in on Hashland. He added NPCs that would repair your tools and armor for you. Then after the reboot he kept chests stocked full of diamond tools and armor. He only spawned items to build the main connecting lines from spawn to the community builds. And he often refused giving others access to spawn items, nor did he make it habit to spawn items for people.

People change, perhaps he had a change of heart?

Also, HE didn't have the ability to spawn back then, so perhaps he was just being a typical asshat online? I know I wouldn't be nearly as confrontational about all this if we were in person talking about it. Maybe to my really close friends, but not regular old gamers.

I know, i know, it sounds like i'm being a fanatic, dismissing his negative actions and hyping him up to be a God or something. But for me, the truth of the matter is that he was a good friend and good admin. He always listened to what we said, and while not everything we said was implemented, a lot of things were.

I don't want to discredit him or change peoples opinion. It is as Nick said, people over time have made him sound like some mythological god.

I understand you all had a great time playing with him. I am glad that you all did.

Nick, you might be right about him changing when he moved over to his server. I'll never know.

What concerns me is we are going to have a limited area for 1.8.

For example, say we have a 1000x1000 block area. I don't want this gigantic memorial to be 800x800 of it...

That all. I'm done ranting about it.

It's a free for all on what you want to build. There are a lot of structures *cough* grinders *cough* I don't like. It's doesn't matter the reason behind a build, it doesn't matter who, what, where, when, why, how a build/project was built. People are allowed to build what they want, because it's the nature of the game.

Ok, you won't build something related to hash, great more power to you!

here is something most don't know. I Had absolutely 0% involvement into the hash memorial, I didn't even place 1 single block at all. nothing nada. I was a build project done by the people who actually built it, ok fine.

If arr4ws wants to dedicate every single build he even helps with to hash it's his business, this is a multiplayer game. We are all not set on the same goals, there is no single goal in the game. You build and you do what you want.




If you want to build a giant statue of something and set it on fire, and dedicate it to bad things happening to Arr4ws or anyone else, that's your business. If someone doesn't like it too bad. Minecraft isn't about dedicating things or not, it's about building things...

I think you should play, I mean really, if you don't like something that's built... don't build near it? is it really that hard to ... walk away? (the way you and BB build, it's all amazing stuff, I'd recommend going far out so you have the room) If I ever played on HC again I'd wait till we expand the map so I can build absolutely far away from ANYONE...

I hate people tunnelling, because most of them don't pay attention where it goes or ends. I know this is minecraft but still pay attention to you surrounding... does it stop me from playing? no I just build away from others.

I think really what we need to do, is when we start the new 'fresh' server, do just that. Start it 'fresh'. Leave anything and everything back in the old server, meaning no bringing supplies and whatnot back. I know everyone worked hard for what they've acquired, but we can do the same here.
I was angry/pissed as hell to leave our first sever, I, as well as many others, spent lots of time in our builds, and it was epic. But you know what? I got over it. As well as many of you will.
It is just a game, but some of us do take it to another level...and that's fine. Life goes on, we live and learn. Let's just all come together and be a happy community/family once again. I have met alot of cool and amazing people here, and really I wouldn't change that for the world.

I'm bored out of my mind waiting for the server to make the full move to 1.8 I had to fire up my personal server so me and my buddies can play, even though I for some reason can't get it to play without using VPN.

Not to be rude:

Heres how this works...

Greatone123 is HOST only, he only hosts the server, he does NOT make decisions on the server other than HARDWARE for the server itself.

NickTheNut is the Systems Administrator, he takes care of the plugins and map crap and all the admin responsibilities

Insomnibyte (me) is the Operations Manager, I make the final decisions for the server itself, and am the lead administrator.

IN OTHER WORDS, G1, DONT BOTHER HIM

If you have a problem, talk to me, or Nick



HERES THE FINAL DECISION;
1.8 map only, there will be no 1.7 map AT ALL, goodbye to that idea, BLAH BLAH BLAH!

If no one can get along and come to ANY kind of agreement, than we are making this final decision for everyone, sorry, but this is how it works!

We will do a STARTER kit for each person, but we will not let you know what it is until the server is running.
