also, i'm going to try to keep up with everything, but starting tomorrow i'm moving and may not be able to play much
 
Just depends on how that build height effects rendering and performance. View distance has been there since 1.7 but changing it has shown to cause performance/bugs as well.

i meant for actually using minecarts to let you go farther and faster....also its not turned off, i can still stack everything that is not stackable normally in game like buckets and signs which im not sure if they are stackable in 1.8???

Dammit now I want to go play, but alas I am still at work, and then I have to get groceries and go to the gym. How sad I won't be able to play until like 10:00 tonight.
 
For those of you getting the out of memory errors, I would assume that most of you are on 64bit OSes. Go download and install the current x64 version of Java. That seems to be the fix.

Didn't for me.
The key seems to be to avoid open areas, and not increase the fov.
 
Man, the pre-release worked fine, but the release is all out of whack. I am getting tons of sheer flat cliffs all over the place that go on for miles. Haven't found another village since the release.
 
If we do the small map. I would love to build a new shrine right where we spawned with connected roads. Very much like the memorial one, but bigger and better.

Im getting an error message that says outdated server when I try to join... Any1 know how to fix this?

I have no idea, they were supposed to be here between 8am - 12pm and I waited till 4, no show and I had places to go so I left... no idea if they came while I was gone or not... I haven't disconnected ALL day tho... and I've been playing LoL all night and haven't lost connection yet either.

I think the new server shouldn't have a memorial/Shrine as big as the one that is on the old map. There was so many memorials all over the map it got to where you couldn't turn around without bumping your ass on one of them. I think a Small tribute would be ok. If people wanna build a city then have the middle of the city have a fountain or something with a plague saying in Honor of.

I just see it as we already had a big tribute server and we don't need another one. I know people miss him and all but He is what the game is all about and there were servers we had for this forum before his came out.

Keep it simple and small and let it be the only Memorial to him.
 
Im not makin another memorial, Im making a shrine cause i want to . As far as i know we had only one memorial on the server, but people had the right to make commemorative built. So whatever babyblue ill make a shrine on the new server cause i feel like it.

I just saw a video on what happens when you convert a 1.7 map to 1.8... not pretty unless you like sheer cliffs from old to new. lol
 
I do not think any one expected a conversion from 1.7 to 1.8 to be smooth. I really am hoping for the two worlds on a 1.8 server so we can migrate stuff we want to our new homes in the new world. New small world.
