Doing larger test renders of Hardcraft and [H]ardcraft since those seem to be the popular choices, figure people might want to look at a range of possible sizes.
 
Test server is now on Bukkit. Still working a few kinks out, but I manage to get our existing test world into it. Only user-side plugin to know about atm is Lockette, which is our sign locking thing from HC. I will add Homes soon.

EDIT: Nevermind. Back to Vanilla.

Actually, since Minecraft is about creating the world you want to play in I'd say just about any plugin you care to run goes along with that convention.
 
Good Job on updating cant wait to get back to playing on [H] anyone still having the memory issue in java ive tried to update java and still getting the issue? :confused:

If you're running x64 windows, do you have x64 java installed? If that doesn't work, this tells you how to increase java's memory.
 
That's not exactly true simon. We'll use whatever one is voted on the most. At this point it looks like Hardcraft is in the lead.
 
I want to vote for Hardcraft

It is a good balance. All that water will make it hard to create squid farms but that is ok.

I like the good mixture of land/water...however, not very many mountain ranges.

I wouldn't mind it as the server seed though. Its just not "perfect" IMO. :cool:

Getting rather bored of waiting myself :p Test server is nice, but I want to work on something a little more permanent. Bukkit is in a good enough place now to where it shouldn't be a huge deal to get it going. A recommended build honestly won't do much for us at this point. The current build already works fine with the basic plugins I've tried.

But we have to wait some more I guess.
 
It's always been a policy of Hardcraft that we wait until a RB of Bukkit. The only thing different is that this time we're getting a new map. So people are more antsy is all.

Well we also haven't heard from Old1e or Insom about hosting yet.. so no foundation to even get a server started.

I was just basically told by Time Warner, too bad so sad. I have no other options when it comes to internet so I'm stuck. No more hosting for me. I'm going to probably call and downgrade my service to at least cut my bill down as much as possible.


Tech #1: modem power levels are fine, box outside is fine, Power source from the poll is low, I'll escalate it.

Days pass, keeps happening.

Tech #2: modem power levels are fine, so has to be your other equipment.
Me: other tech said it didn't matter it was good inside, power at the poll was bad.
Tech #2: impossible.
Me: so your saying he lied or did something wrong?
Tech #2: Can't say I wasn't here.
Me: so wtf am I supposed to do.
Tech #2: get rid of all this equipment and directly connect to the modem, if it still drops get a new modem.
Me: and if it's not the modem?
Tech #2: Power levels are fine nothing else I can do, have a nice day.


No other cable company, can't get DSL because the phone lines are gone in my house when I rewired, didn't plan on having a house phone.
 
Wow that's BS G1. I would be escalating that myself straight to their boss. Fucking lazy asses is what that amounts to.
 
Have you looked into ground loop DSL service? Basically you don't need phone service. Just a line... Or did you mean you literally have no phone line ran either?
 
I can give you a VM on a 5/5 that will be a 10/10 soon. Will have a static IP and backed up nightly.

Just an option.

I like this seed. It has a nice seperate area in the center for whatever then a water round it so the central area has a kind of protection...and will look nice with the water reflection shader. Also water is niiice and flat so stuff can be built on it without having to clear a load of soil/rock first. :D

Now do it 9kx9k! :p

9k takes for freaking ever. Ran a 9k x 9k of that one ocean map and it took hours to pre-populate all the chunks. I'll do a 3k though.
 
I have been having problems with Time Warner since I moved here.
They make up EVERY damn excuse they can think of to avoid the
real issues. The issues are their cable lines are old as hell around
the city, the lines that feed off the main lines to the houses here have leaks from
trees rubbing on them, old age, etc... I have seen lines around here
that even have the shield exposed, brought it to a techs attention,
and he said it was fine. I have basic knowledge of feed lines,
signal strength, RF, and so on but they think I am 1 of the dumb
people they deal with daily. When I lived 15 miles from here, where
the lines are better maintained, I had NO problems, go figure....
 
It is going to be crazy building on a new world, all the possibilities. I can not wait.

I agree my home internet kinda blows. That is why I use work to do most of my gathering. Fiber is nice :)
 
Wish we could get fiber here, Time Warner has this area so for me, I am stuck with them, or AT&T DSL, which I have already considered. I hate to say it, but atleast they do seem to care about issues
and problems customers have in this area, I can't speak for other areas they have service in.

I feel for ya. I'm glad I have Comcast. The cap sucks, don't get me wrong, but it's fast and I don't really have much downtime. Maybe an hour or so a month.
