Sounds like it is getting close to being on the non test server soon. I want to get on with the perminate projects

well really respect others is pretty much the only rule we need...

it's disrespectful to:
build near someone
steal their stuff
greif their stuff
tunnel into their place >.>

it covers so much

True. HOWEVER, how is one supposed to know where someone else's tunnels are?

Now that would be a odd world to start with. If we expanded that when 1.9 comes out there would be a LOT of hard edges.

I actuallly really like that one. My only complaint for it is that for the smaller map size we're starting with, we won't have too much land to build in. But there is plenty of room for a community city.

I think one rule we should definitely have is that NPC villages be left alone! They should be treated like relics of a time gone past.

I like seed -1879198779558870943 with 3kx3k borders the most. Has lots of sand, variation in biomes, and cool islands.

as long as we get plenty of water and a few NPC villages I will be happy. I want to build an new island castle

We should try out the "island" seed. It's and island surrounded by a good amount of water, but there's also other large land masses throughout the map.

My favorites so far are 'atlantis' and '[H]ardcraft', because they have plenty of water for me to build a 64x32 underwater dome :p

Some things I wish for in future Minecraft updates:
  • Ability to randomly spawn players in a radius within a radius from origin rather than everyone spawning within a set area at origin; and being able to set the radius of the radius and the radius in the radius
  • Electromagnetic blocks powered by redstone (then we can create real railguns for launching ourselves into space!)
  • When the sun rises and it becomes day, a sound is played; when the sun sets and it becomes night, a sound is played. This would allow me to record the sounds that happen for both day and night in Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Would be awesome to hear the rooster crow and the wolves howl signifying night (when monsters spawn) and day (when monsters burn)
  • A SubSpace-styled server ?usage command
  • OpenCL/Bullet/Havok-based water physics

the sun noises would be cool, I like that.

too much radius talk lol

the usage thing I don't get but there are plugins that record, time/last/amount/logins/stuff done

Yo dawg, I heard you like radii, so I put a radius in your radius so you can.... i don't know, something involving radii.

Also, those all look pretty good. I think I like the two hardcrafts the most. [H]ardcraft the best probably.

This would allow players to be randomly spawned across the place pretty randomly and naturally. First the server randomly determines a radius between minimumValue1 and maximumValue1, and then does this again but for minimumValue2 and maximumValue2; it is at this point a player will be spawned. Each player is assigned a unique spawn location; the first radius (dark gray line) will be permanent, and the second radius can either be permanent (with a third radius having a low maximum [like a 16 block radius] just so that you don't spawn at the very exact coordinate every time) or random within that range. (EDIT: This is assuming you don't have a bed block laid.)

This would be interesting in my opinion because instead of all players spawning together at the same location, each player to some extent must create their own little village/private estate, and this can be used to create roads and highways to other people's places, larger settlements, and even cities. Puts some emphasis on growing up on your own (literally) in the wild until you are capable enough to travel and search for "undiscovered" real-human establishments.

You spend a lot of time in a particular server. You are curious to know how many hours lifetime you have been logged into that particular server, and you are also curious to know how much time you have spent in this particular server in the current login/session into the server. So you type /usage or ?usage (as you would in SubSpace/Continuum), and the server prints back:
Code:
Session Usage: 1 hours 42 minutes
Total Usage: 2863 hours 28 minutes
First played: 7-14-2001 5:14:29
Example: So the first time you logged into this particular server *EVER* on the username of your account was 7-14-2001 at 5:14:29. In this particular server you have played a total of 2863 hours and 28 minutes. You logged into this particular server 1 hour and 42 minutes ago (and have not disconnected/reconnected/dropped from the server since).

Okay man, it's just a game. Quit analyzing it so damn much! Go punch a tree!

oh no, i get it dude. makes sense, it's neat and all... it's also called our /home, or the last location you've slept in a bed... go punch a tree :p

I haven't used that command, but last time I looked into this, which was a *long* time ago with commands like /sethome, /home, /setspawn, and /spawn, the problem with these are that you can type the command any time and it will instantly warp you back to said location. That's not natural, and that's cheap. This is what your bed is for. But when you don't have a bed, ... *refer to idea*

"that's not natural" lol. never thought I'd hear a comment like that about Minecraft!

It doesn't go along with normal conventions and mechanics of the game. It's like allowing flying/noclip in survival mode. Creative mode I can understand and accept; that's precisely part of why it is creative mode.
