1/2 the ones we use aren't developed, and 1/2 of those mods we don't even need anymore because a lot of it is added into 1.8 Then there are some we are just going to get rid of because this is Hardcraft Survival, not HC Panzy asses :-P

MCM, lockette, warps/homes and creaturebox are Hardcraft Survival right?

Need the one for different levels/colors in chat too. I want minecraftmania because it allows stacking of things you can't normally stack, which makes stores much less of an ass pain.

I don't think the chat colors are needed, whoever is a mod knows their a mod, and it will stop some of the "I wanna be this color comments. It also helps mods and admins possibly hide in game. If someone comes in and sees red names they thing admin less likely to try things and wait till they are gone. This way no will see it coming ... >.> BAM BAN!

What doesn't stack that does now?

I haven't had anything unexpectedly stack. In fact, food stacks now!

I completely agree with you there.

I kinda like that idea, a first small area...force people to work together to make a central hub/spawn area. I remember Hashmang did the central spawn area that had four main roads going N-S-E-W. We could do the same to organize the spawn area to help newcomers go to areas which aren't settled. Just talking here though...

This is what I was thinking too. By time 1.9 biome stuff is done, we can unlock the world for exploring. In the mean time we get a nice tight looking central area around the spawn similar to what we had before.

We don't need anything near the 3k by 3k of the 1.7 map. 1k x1k max.

I thought the text colors came from the same mod that allowed user levels? Or, are just saying this because the server text comes up in noob colors? :p One thing I hope one update adds is a better chat system, with scrolling and longer than 10 character sentances! I would say copy/paste and links (for minecraftwiki) but that could be problematic...

With minecart mania you can use it to stack anything. So buckets/tools etc. etc. everything can be carried in stacks of 64. Which means lots less room is taken up, and it's easier to move equipment from place to place. Also it can be used to auto sort storage, which is good if you are messy/unorganized :D

I liked the chat colors; as someone who's relatively new to the server, it helped me figure out who the mods, admins, people that are trusted (vets), etc are.

I'm still for the small 1.8 map and then expand for 1.9 idea.

just curious on the size of things, for comparison, on the 1.7 map, how large is the surrounding area starting from spawn all the way to encompass corsair lake?

I'm pretty sure that most of that was turned off anyway... at least as recently as I've played.

1.8 has a HUGE memory issue for me. CAn't play for more than ~ 3 minutes before it 'runs out of memory'.

:(

The only small problem I see with that small of a world is that can't 1.8 biomes range in the 1k range? Not sure if that's actually a problem or not though...

I don't think it would be.

And if we're worried about it you can recreate a world until we're happy with the starting area and settle on that.

i noticed that playing 1.8 early this morning the game was running considerably better than 1.7 was.

I got an out of memory error earlier myself when popping between nether and regular world. But I haven't given Minecraft more memory to work with in Java yet.

Yeah we'll have to make sure whatever world we generate has enough land to create our spawn area, and that we aren't on a tiny island surrounded by ocean.

So it seems like pretty much everyone (or at least the majority) is ok with starting fresh with a small starting area for 1.8 and adding 1.7 as a second world to move items over?

How many mods are we going to wait for though? I know half of the ones we currently use aren't being developed anymore.

I would assume that we have members here that could code them to make them work at least for what we need them for.

I also vote for the small starting area. All I really need is a small house and then I can work on the community areas such as roads and things of the sort. When do we expect to be up and running with 1.8? Rumor has it that the release is tomorrow.

Release was today.

Bukkit release with mods is a different story, however, and could be more than a few days :(

How did I miss the release? I need to update my personal server and stuff now. Well that sucks, so I guess we are not going to roll 1.7 until we can get the updates and we are just going to update and add the mods as they are released?

Bukkit's releases are generally a few days, to sometimes weeks after.

just started 1.8 single player. I was looking forward to an increase of height limit. did they not include that with 1.8?

never said they were going to increase the limit. that was just hope and speculation. the only word about it was that he tried it and it didn't work out very well.
