Then the world would be all mine! MUHAHAHAH

No but really, sad Nick is sad.

Is there any possibility of a fresh map once MC is final?

I just landed a job that starts in ~ a year. I can host a server then.
Once I am raking in the MAD CASH.

That's not a bad idea, the only problem is that so many people's builds bunch together in multiple chunks, and in the middle of chunks. So it's hard to do it cleanly.

An alternative would be to maybe use WorldEdit to clear that stuff out. Though it might end up causing huge swatches of perfectly flat land. Which would be near as ugly as what was removed...

I have a solution; new map! :D

Server is going to be going down, for an unknown amount of time, will go back online... when I post and say it's back online.

Will see everyone later, this is offline 1 out of 2 for the day. 2 is up in the air, 1 is for sure...

Thank you and good day......

I SAID GOOD DAY!

everything past the current 3k border will be 1.8 so villages will load and new materials will spawn.

EDIT: the sand machine is most likely temp anyway. it is a glitch and will probably be fixed in 1.8 anyway.
Is this how it's always worked with each update? The new blocks that you create with the update are the only blocks with the new content? If not, then what's stopping the NPC villages from spawning anywhere, and not just in the newly created areas?

Now what am I supposed to do with my free time?

You're correct, once chunks are created they can't gain any new content. Giant mushrooms won't start popping up, nor will NPC villages just appear out of no where. Only chunks created when using the update will generate new content. New mobs and the like will spawn in "old" areas though.

Now what am I supposed to do with my free time?

Hookers and blow.

Got rid of the shitty ass Ubee modem that TWC uses... when I called they even said they are going to stop using them.. well ya good idea...

they also said that before the end of the year my area will have a 30/5 connection available... so yay!

as of now this is my speeds with Road Runner Turbo B/A the new modem I got (Motorola SB6120)

yes server is back up, for now, I'm also thinking of putting together a PFSense box to replace my router... not 100% sure on that yet or not...

according to the Load screen when I start the server there are 105 Homes... so 105 people have set their home on our server to give an idea of it's population kinda

i wish extra maps weren't a problem to set up, we could have done a wasteland that would reset every so often and was edited so there was only sand. that would solve our ugly sandpit problem

well there not as good as the biased ones so :-P my connection is technically only 15/2 anyway lol it's that speed boost crap they throw out there.

EITHER WAY!

on to offline 2 today, did my research last night got my hardware squared away so now It's going down for the PFSense to go into place. I'll do another biased speed test to see if there is any difference :-P

so till later, bye bye now

GOOD DAY SIR!

I need someone to try to connect, I dunno if it's working or not (portforwarding) NVM arr4ws connected.

so that means everything should be back up...

oh yeah biased speedtest after router

img snippers.. snip.. snip..

Very nice.. Too bad I'm not interested in paying for more than the 10/1 tier :) I'm cheap.

Server seems a bit laggier than last night and only three of us are on. Not complaining just an FYI in case something was changed. :)

My internet @ RIT. :-D

Seriously through... I'll be back on when shit aren't so chaotic up here.

I must say, I'm slightly disappointed that we couldn't all agree to get a new map up in here. Especially after everyone started nuking the shit out of this world.
I haven't been around for a while, been spending more time in World of Tanks, but I never saw a legitimate use for TNT in a co-op world. Perhaps there's a mod to remove the TNT blocks from the game and be done with it.

I used it to help clear out a large underground room for my mob spawner. So there's one legitimate use.

I feel that removing TNT all together is a bit heavy-handed. It hasn't been a problem once people were aware that using too much was putting a heavy load on the server.

Limiting TNT to 0-20 is a terrible idea. I built a grinder underground near my place. I would hated to have had to clear the entire upper section by hand.

Agreed. Not only that but it won't really solve any potential issues with TNT. If you're worried that your neighbor might TNT his build, well, shouldn't that just be against the rules? Falls under the "respect" rule if you ask me; Completely destroying the look of the landscape next to someone's build isn't exactly respectful. If you're worried that someone might set off too much TNT at once, restricting it to level 0-20 doesn't make any sense; A 20 block cube is 8,000 TNT, far too much yet fits comfortable inside that boundary.

I did the same - cleared out my underground lair using TNT, and I wouldn't have been able to build it without TNT really.

I don't see a problem with the way TNT is now. AFAIK, only one person was abusing it.

yeah posts are getting scattered about... like someone replied to your post before you even posted it... something strange is going on!

Then perhaps the solution is to limit TNT usage to levels 0-20 or so, if there's a mod like that.
Haven't logged into the server in a while so I don't know whether you can buy TNT but if you have to mine for the components then clearing out a cave by hand is probably not that much slower.

Never heard of a mod like that, but that's not a bad idea.

We don't have an economy mod, so all collected "by hand". But with the Corsair Grinder, and using the sandpit warp, getting enough material to make TNT takes no time at all really.

I use it above ground as well to collect sand also.

Does it look like my post is in the future to anyone else? Says I posted it at 3:18 PM. It is only 2:45 PM right now, lol.
