This needs to happen in 1.8, where crits, and knock back come in to play <3
 
Nothing ever seems to go my way... the NIC in the router I just built can't keep the DHCP for some reason. So this causes it to cut off my internet randomly whenever it feels like... so I put my old router back into place.
 
Heh... Looks like you're not the only one with this problem. Lots of custom cron and shell scripts to force renew DHCP on PFSense.

This^^

PFSense boxes are awesome, but can be very buggy. Might have to do some finegaling with it to get it working properly, but once you do, she can be steady as a ship on calm water.
 
I updated the firmware, since it IS technically not final release yet I'm running RC3 2.0 so we'll see if that does anything or not
 
Some things I would try;

Replace your NIC card in your PFSense box, make sure you dont have a faulty NIC card. If it continues to drop, go back to the next thing, remove the PFSense box from the equation and see if it stays online.

Also, while the OLD card is still in, on one of your machines, run a ping www.google.com -t and let it do 5 minutes of ping, come back, Crtl+Z it out so it stops and see how many packets you lost. Put int he new card, reset the PFSense box, do the same thing. See if you lost the same amount or if you lost less.

To be honest, I think its one of four things;

Faulty NIC
SnR in the modem connection (which doesnt mean a modem issue)
SnR in the house connection (the box outside your house)
Bad PFSense firmware, if your using version 2.0, it isnt stable and is in beta. You may have to downgrade to 1.2.3 to keep connection.

At least 2-3 weeks before 1.8..

That being said, in about the same time, I will be having another child, if not sooner. So my time in the world might be a bit more limited :(

Champions' gotta go out on top, yanno. :)

So it looks like somebody stole ALL of the spawners from my dungeon in the city, and started tearing down the moss stone:





A total of 6 spawners were taken, and about 28 moss stone. I'm not sure if this is any of the new players or not, but this is really getting ridiculous...

Oh holly he'll! What's your in game name thermite? I'll look in the logs, but I dont know if I'll be able to find anything. Our logs only store chat, and a few other things.

Do you have any idea around what time this happened?

I won't be able to check until later tonight, btw.

I'm 99% sure he's Slacker7.

Would creaturebox stuff be stored in the logs? Not sure what else would be stored that would help you find out who did it.

Yeah, that's me. I can't be more specific on the timeframe unfortunately, as I haven't really been back there in probably a week.

In case it helps looking through the logs (if there are any) there were two zombie, two skeleton, and two spider spawners. It also may have been done before the last restart, because there was a glitch where they would spew out monsters after removed, and nothing happened when I went down there so it was probably cleared from the memory.

It would be awesome if you guys can figure out who did it, but for now I'll probably just leave it as is or dismantle it because I don't want to worry about this happening again.
 
Can we go back to a white list? Just put the people who are known 100% and have the other unknown applicants go through our process again.

We have had issues like this for the past few weeks. We need to resolve this..

We also need more admins, or at least give the mods more power....

Speaking of which Freaky, I have not received a reply from you.
 
The whitelist on its own won't solve this problem, only if whoever is doing this isn't on it. So, who doesn't get to be on the whitelist that currently has builder rank or above?
 
Revert to post-Hash whitelist and work our way up?
And a mute button for Danielson's constant requests for mats. lol.
 
Also whoever stole my spawners (i assume) flipped two of the repeaters in my circuit so it wouldn't turn off... like I wouldn't notice :rolleyes:

 
So, I just picked up Minecraft...the first post does NOT summarize what it takes to get access to builder status or something?

What must I do? Can someone add that to the OP?
 
People stealing again? Man... I miss the old days when the only thing we had to worry about was people building cobble eyesores :p
 
As of right now nick is the only admin with access to the whitelist so if we go that route he will be the one that handled that, unless Insomnibyte can get access while at work.

Whitelist wouldn't of stopped this from happening though. We still have the same rules as before to get into the server those haven't changed.


If we reverse to hash playerlist might as well turn the thing off the only active players we have are non veterans... minus 3 or 4.
 
Yeah, I'm not keen on being the only one to manage a white list ;) Also as G1 said, we'd have the same problems. After our first griefing attack the servers protections were beefed up. At this point it's someone who already has build rights that's messing things up.

I couldn't find anything in the logs that gave me pause. The only thing I DID notice is that there are quite a few new faces around, and from the bits and pieces of the chat I read (didn't try and pry, but scanned for key words), they had questionable maturity levels...

I have to admit, the few times I've popped in recently I've been reluctant to stay around just to chat because some of the newer faces don't seem to be particularly mature. And I'm not really into building anything until 1.8. There was a lot of begging for stuff, etc.
