The Official Borderlands 2 Thread

I saw that, too. What level were you when you attempted it? I'm at 32 and am thinking about giving it a shot soon.

On another note, I've found that you can save yourself the reanimation cost if you pause and quit the game right before you die. You'll have to fill up your ammunition again, but I think that's a lot cheaper than the alternative.

I think I first attempted it around 29-32; the first 3 weren't too bad, 4th was decently hard and 5th was rough. I tried to go back and out-level it, but the mobs in there level with you, so you're never going to overlevel it. It's the only spot in the game that I ever started to run out of ammo (playing as Zero and going for a pretty high percentage of crit/headshots with a sniper rifle). If you have good corrosive weapons, it'll probably be a hell of a lot easier.

There is a second arena questline...

I tried to do the Hyperion arena at around level 30-35, right after the bot that wants to be human; the 5th round is freaking crazy. I took down the end game boss easy, but that quest is ridiculous. I died several times, gave up, came back to it and died several more and said screw it, moving on to playthrough 2. My final playthrough I was doing really well, but then accidentally got too close to a Super Badass Loader, which did some kind of ground stomp and sent me flying over the edge, instant death. Almost punched my monitor...it wasn't so much dying, it was leaving one quest undone. I have minor OCD on the side quests, I have to complete them!

Probably overly cautious on the spoiler, oh well.

The last round is hard, but definitely doable. I did it as Zer0 solo in PT1.

In the center where you trigger the round... there is a stack of crates behind you, (with lava).

Go into one of them, staying close to the edge of the crate. Move in and out if necessary.

Bam, you can now snipe everyone.

I was doing that, but I would run out of ammo fairly quickly even with maxed rounds. Even critting, some of those bots seemed to take 2-3 shot. Plus it seemed to bug out; the far spawning mobs wouldn't come down to me many times, I would have to run out and aggro them it. Plus after a dozen tries at the damn thing, my patience was wearing thin to play it safe and slow. :D

So this arena is more bots than humanoids? Sounds like I'll need to switch weapons around a bit first.

It's Hyperion, so I would say about 80% bots and 20% soldiers, if even that much. Those rocket pod ones are bastards, they pour out so many rounds. When there are 3-4 out there...

That's why you have different weapons. Sniper for long range, hand gun with scope for medium to close, and shotgun for point blank.

Those guys at far spawning areas... those were the easiest one.

Even the war bots and the bigger bots were easy too. what sniper were you using? At the time I was using a no scope sniper with 2400 dmg. One shot everything, and I only needed three shots for the bigger robots.

I find money to be a lot less useful in BL2. It implements a different leveling system, where everything including vending machines remains at the level of open missions in an area. so basically the machines have crap. And at higher levels you accumulate money more quickly anyway. so you can blow it all on slot machines and it doesn't make much of a difference.

Some sort of upgrade system for gear would have been a good use of Eridium and cash. Spend it toward a small increase in damage, accuracy, change sights/scopes. Give it special properties etc. To bad they didnt add something like that.

Heh, reminds me of the Maliwan Volcano sniper rifle in BL1. That rifle was so OP that it wasn't even funny.

It even got to a point where I could just lure whole squads into a tight group and then fire the sniper without scoping into the group and they all would die. :D

Lol I remember that

Buying damage and accuracy increases??... lets not get too unrealistic with our money now... Mr. X

I hope they do add something that we can spend our Eridium on. I have all my upgrades and I'm up to 90 with nothing to do with it.

Finally got hybrid physx working on the game. It is more fun then I thought.(didnt like the graphics, hehe)
Used an old 8800GT 1gb for it.

Shift Codes Live Again !!!!

WBK3T-TSH6Z-633B3-BT3TT-Z6SR5

Where are people snagging these codes?

Unfortunately that code is already expired. I'm assuming Gearbox is giving out gold key codes every so often on Twitter etc.?

Any way to know when?

I'm never use Twitter, so...

Well I think I managed to fix my SLI issues after some tweaking last night. I ended up having to force AFR-2 in the Borderlands 2 profile, then, in the SLI and Physx config screen, set GPU1 to control the Physx. Leaving it set to GPU2 had resulted in a few random crashes for some reason and setting Physx to CPU created a damn slideshow during gun fights.

With the new working configuration I got equal GPU usage across both cards and a large bump in FPS. The GPU usage was still not where it should be though; it still fluctuated between 90% and 40%. The game however did seem to feel a bit more fluid but I only tested out single player in Frostbite cavern. I really need to test out Bloodshot Stronghold on MP to see if it's made any difference.

I am having issues with SLI as well. I did the same settings as above but still experience laggy firefights with 6-7+ enemies. Using older drivers (296.10) seems to smooth out the game but the second GPU sees no activity when I am monitoring it on MSI afterburner. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

No wonder I didn't see them before. I waste enough of my life without getting Twitter involved. And just my luck I'll be missing out on the ones tomorrow.

Thanks for posting this SHIFT code. Elated to realize that there was something positive in getting up at 6 in the morning on a Saturday to go to work (EU here).

Second playthrough is a blast by the way. No deaths yet. I recommend farming The Warrior before starting. The hit points some of the enemies have now... wow

This shift thing is a joke. Basically the Terms of service say your info will be provided to 3rd parties when they desire and it will send info about you etc. and they are not responsible if the personal info is lost/stolen.

I finally got tempted to join and then I didn't even get a key for joining, and the stupid keys above have all expired. Plus you have to copy them in one little piece at a time CTCJ3, CSHRS, (wtf)!

So now I just gave up any sense of privacy for no reward whatsoever. Pretty soon they'll probably start selling keys. $$%(@)*@#*#@%)(

I'd have to say, modding is far more tempting then trying to use this stupid service. I won't mod now anyways cuz it's still fun but I am not impressed with this addition to the game.

You don't have to copy them one piece at a time. I've copy and pasted the whole key in just fine. As for them expiring, yes they have a limited shelf life. This has been the case since they sent them out. They're testing the system. If you want them the minute they're available follow their Twitter account.

PC SHiFT Code for a Golden Key in Borderlands 2: W3KB3-X996S-F3TJB-TJBBJ-R5RZJ [Active 5AM-8AM CT on 10/6]

I love stuff like this. Play for a bit, leave, and when you come back you get this.

What are you supposed to do. Cancel, and don't play? Retry? Why doesn't this auto correct, give you a proposed solution or explain more. Basically it looks like play or don't play but you are at risk of losing, but if you cancel how does that help if it will just ask the next time you try?

I played once ignoring it but didn't notice anything getting lost.

This time I clicked cancel, wrote this post and tried again whereupon it didn't complain and went into the game. There should at least be an option to try sync or something.

There is. Sometimes it will ask if you would rather pull the latest info down from the Steam Cloud, or upload the latest save from your computer to the Cloud. In those cases, it's better to upload to the Cloud instead of download from it.

At one point in a game, as someone mentioned before, I got bazilion side missions at once and all of those were TRIVIAL.

Guys, just accept all missions at once and then visit maps and do several missionas at once. This way yuo will save tons of time avoiding not needed travel.

just disable it in steam options, you don't need it unless you're playing on different machines all the time. there was apparently a fuckup from gearbox and the online saves were poorly implemented, this seems to be a common problem for those who have cloud saving on.

This is what I do. Carpet bomb the area, get loaded up, and then concentrate on a specific area and finish as much as I can before I "turn in" anything.

i always start every mission i can and try to do them all before main missions.

what level were people finishing play through 1? i'm at 32 now and just got into old fryestone

I was lvl 29 when i got to Old Fyrestone, and the next wave/dude was tough, but i have a high powered rocket launcher that does 12k dmg, so it helped.

Do you feel slightly Owerpowered at that level? I beleive main mission scales according to your level.

yes and no.

i have good weapons which allow me to make short work of most things but I still get 1 shoted a whole lot by just about anything. 3000 shield and 4000 health down to no sheild and like 50 health in one hit.

i think one thing that made everything so easy is once you get heavy into hyperion enemies, just use corrosive weapons and done.

Everything else I just use a fire shotgun I found a long time ago but it still makes short work of everything like 15 levels later.
