I'd love an MMO where I could actually build and defend a castle. Think Planetside 2, but with player-built fortifications, and medieval+magic. Add the politics and intrigue of the alliances that would then come about due to all this, and it could be a game changer.
God I hope this isn't true...

I'm just playing BF3 at the moment. Nothing else interests me at all right now =/
I'm getting my hopes way too high for this game, just like I do for every new MMO coming out.
Tomb Raider? Bioshock Infinite soon? Dead Space 3? None of those?
Damn. I think you're in the severe minority here, as there's plenty to do while waiting for a particular game.

None of those games have much replay value.
I'm playing Skyrim all over again, I don't see myself playing an online game again when I just want a single player game.
I played SW:TOR as a single player game and quit after 2 weeks.
New to finding out about this game, and holy cow![]()
Game will be playable this weekend at PAX;

I have not been following this game that much. But thought I read the developers on this MMO, are not the same team that created Skyrim and Oblivion ? Is that true ?
What about the game engine ? Is it an updated Skyrim engine, or completely different ?
Character view ? Is it typical Elder Scrolls first person view, or did they change it to third person view, like WoW ?

No , Zenimax Online
No, different engine
No, third person
The visual style makes it look like it isn't set in the ES universe at all.
For now, though, here’s the big one: Why does everything feel so rigid? Where’s the organic madness, the giants playing continental golf-hockey with wolves, pelting me with pelts while I fearlessly press on in a single cardinal direction, constantly stumbling into random adventure? Why not replicate that openness with actual, you know, people instead of NPCs? As part of a group interview, creative director Paul Sage explained the rather large gulf between the two experiences.
Sage, for his part, was quite clear in his explanation. It’s not that such a game lies outside that all-too-rational kingdom known as the Realm of Possibility; that’s just not the sort of experience Zenimax thinks most MMO players are looking for.
“I don’t want to talk about anyone who’s tried this experiment before and fallen flat on their face, but there have been a couple of times where people have said, ‘Oh, it’s a great idea just to have no NPCs in the world and let it all be players.’ It fell flat. So I know better. I’m a little wiser now. I don’t think that’s actually what we want for the game,” Sage said.
Questing Quest Of Quest Questingness - As soon as I began my demo session, I did as any self-respecting Elder Scrolls fan would: abandoned all pretenses of following the main story and struck out on my own, ready to turn the world upside-down and shake it until every last crumb of adventure fell out. I pointed my Orc in one direction, and off I went.
I gave up in 20 minutes.
The sandy, sun-scorched starting area felt largely lifeless when quests weren’t leading the way, so I eventually relented and bounced between golden, ultra-obvious circles on my minimap – ultimately gaining passage to a new area once I’d wrapped up the main plot of the first. I was hoping the more expansive locales around Daggerfall would offer greater variety, but alas. No such luck. For my troubles, I got semi-compelling, fully voice-acted tales of treachery, woe, and the undead, but I felt like I was methodically working my way through a theme park – not paving my own path through a sandbox.
There weren’t any crazy AI shenanigans or moments of utterly unexpected player interaction. For better or worse, everything functioned as expected. I felt like I was playing a competent – and in some places, even fairly impressive – MMO, but The Elder Scrolls’ trademark spark was dim, sometimes invisible against a backdrop of pre-scripted heroics and canned conversations.

Well this is disappointing, there's a lot of "hands ons" coming out about TESO as it was playable at PAX...

Not sure why you care. You're just going to stick to WoW again anywaysI keed I keed, or not because you probably will stick to WoW again haha.
Honestly, I'm not surprised. The MMO industry has no creativity left and the player base is to diverse and difficult to please. I doubt we'll ever get another great MMO. The genre is pretty much played out.
Combat at first glance looks like TES, however when someone fires a fireball at you? It curves/homes into you, you can't dodge/sidestep out of the way.
