This game soooo reminds me of Panzer General now.
I know I am going to be in the minority here...but I LOVE the non stacking of units. I actually need to think about movement, and tile placements before attacking!
Also choke points really matter now. I had America funneled in between 2 mountain ranges before they could get to anything of mine. (unless they went via sea or thru another country)
I placed a general at the mouth of the choke point, and pretty much held them off the entire game with 2 rotating units.
Few annoying things I have happening, is that ranged units need to "unpack" for lack of a better word. Or units have moves left for some unknown reason. Pathing is all over the place.
Overall the simpler gameplay seems a bit shallow at 1st, but I have grown to like it.
