Shoggy said:Your problem isn't the firmware, it's the current OS which you have damaged when trying to update to OS 2.02.
While updating it seems that only a few bits and bytes have beend flashed and I guess one of them was the signature that says you are having OS x.xx
Now if you try to update your aquaero, the OS loader will abort this because it thinks that you have already updated.
Top Nurse said:If you need them fast then SNT if they have them...if their order system isn't still borked. Those fittings are in the Sharka shipment coming in next week or you could use a 8mm compression fitting and heat the tube up which I think you already have right?
Top Nurse said:Well I can only say that when comparing stuff like this you have to understand that one is a Ford and one is a Mercedes Benz.
Vlad335 said:I tried SNT but got all kind of PHP errors in the ordering process. I sent them an Email but in reading the forum over there, things don't look too good.
Where can I get an 8mm Comp fitting to fit 1/8" BSP threads? I believe thats what the Aquatube uses, right?
CAD OC'er said:holy shit! me too and dan's not returning any emails...
I thought it was because of my Hawaii zip code
Vlad335 said:WOW! I just got an email from Dan asking for my zip for shipping purposes! Has them in stock!

But all that aside I think you will be quite happy with that combination of products. Very similar to R1ckCa1n and my setups. The 1048 is okay, but if you ever will think about getting an Aquaero then I would go with the Aquastream instead.
CAD OC'er said:lol. So which is the Ford? I had an ML but the leather interior, the console swithes, and cup holders had to be constantly replaced...

i dont think ill get aquaero... so expensive.
In this point of my life, i don't care about the looks, I care about performance... I've never used side windows on my case and I will not use it. Let's say it in this way... I don't care if the AquaComputer look so good and so sexy and my friends will try to steal it... Now I'll ask you again Will my system over perform a Danger Den or Swiftech system?. I want something that can stay on 25-30° on Idle and less than 40° on load.. Will it worth those 400$ ?
Vlad335 said:I would like to see a head to head review with an Aqua-computer set-up vs. DD big bore system or equivalent. As far as I know there is no such thing.

There is not and would not be a good review. AC stuff is small tubing, ultra high looks while being very very quite. DD is about large tube with loud pumps and fans.Vlad335 said:I would like to see a head to head review with an Aqua-computer set-up vs. DD big bore system or equivalent. Top Nurse said:Hi Simon...
It was just a simple analogy with the Ford/Mercedes thing. However, the A-C gear is an import as it comes from Germany. But what I really meant is that most any high quality water cooling rig you get will probably meet your needs. It's kind of like whether you want to drive a Ford Taurus to work or a Porsche 911 Carrera. Both will get you there, but the Porsche will get you there in style and probably a lot faster. It also has a certain status value as well. So only you can make decisions on esthetics and whether you wnat to drive a Ford or spend your money on a Porsche.
Now will it work "better" than a DD or Swiftech is something I can guess, but I can't tell you for certain because that would be blowing hot air up your arse. I can tell you that many of the people who are using A-C gear came from using Swiftech and DD high flow BIB equipment and find that they get just as good results from their computers using 6mm ID tubing with A-C gear. So will you be able to get 25-30 on idle is probably unlikely, but that is something that not many setups are capable of doing anyway. It is probably likely to get under 40 on load depending on what the ambient is of course. And of course it depends on how much juice you put into your processors and a host of other things beyond are control. Maybe you wil just get a screwed processor that runs hot as that has happened to me even with the best H20 cooling I could afford. The only thing we can do is to plan our rigs with the best stuff we can get and hope for the best.
But since you are planning on not getting the Aquaero I would suggest you go with the Eheim 1048. The Aquatube really is just for show if you get down to the brass tacks. It will not change your temps any. However, it does look cool with an Aquajet. The things that make a computer cool better than another are the radiator, pump, and the cooling blocks. The 1048 is a good pump, the XT block is right up there with the best of them, and the Evo 360 is a solid radiator design. If you want you could also do a BI Pro III with an A-C grill. Another item coming on to the market is the ThermoChill HE line of radiators which I saw today and it appears to be a car heater core already setup for using 120mm fans. I figure you could easily adapt the Evo Grill to fit it as well.
I would actually stay with the DTEK heatercore as it will not restrict your loop nearly as much as the 240 will. You will really like the AC stuff. I do recommend an Aquatube to go with the setup. Adds a ton to the looks!tbooth said:Well, I decided to go ahead and order a Cuplex XT from Sharka. I am currently using the following to cool my CPU in an Antec 1030:
Swiftech MCP600 v2
Danger Den RBX
DTEK JR120 Heatercore
2x 120MM Fans in push/pull config
1/2" Clearflex tubing
I will be using the same CPU/Overclock with my AC stuff.
EVO 240
Aquastream
Cuplex XT
Plug and Cool tubing
I will post comparison temps once I get all my stuff and get it set up, should be about 2 weeks unless I get my package from Germany and Sharka by next weekend.

If you plan to mount the aquatube vertically, get a aquajet. If you plan to do this below, it really isn't necessary.tbooth said:I'll give the 240 a try and see how it performs, and I forgot to list the aquatube but I did order one. In fact, I think the aquatube is what made me want to try AC in the first place, it's just so cool looking.
See now this a a smart man. The only thing AC and DD or any big bore DIY system have in common are that they use water, tubes, pumps and blocks. I am of the 'performance is king' attitude but I ABSOLUTELY respect the AC type systems. They just have different design goals and each meets their respective goals well. Sure a review could be done between the 2, but what is the point? Any decent big bore system 'should' outperform a smaller ID system but, the AC systems are generally quieter, very nice looking, and easy to manages the tubing.Aviddigi said:DD=apples AC=oranges of course a larger flow system will perform better. But i dont need a review to tell me how much more. My first couple of systems were all danger den, i like the builds but i will never use it again on my own rig. There are to many expansion aspects to the aquacomputer inventory and if that means my cpu and 6800s will run 5-6c higher, thats cool with me. Well, mostly. My rig is not your normal DIY though either, but, it cools better than mostTop Nurse said:Well said! The issue I always try to point out is that while BIB will probably cool better it usually doesn't translate into anything perceptible for OC your box. The only time that is different is if you go to TEC's or phase change where the temps drop drastically.![]()
simon27 said:This might be an stupid question, but what the Aquajet do in the aquatube?
Now after looking at SharkaCorp I have updated my setup... take a litle look!
CPU Block: Cuplex XT - 109.50
GPU Block: Twinplex - I have no idea :X
Pump: this was a [H]ard choice, because I don't know if in a "future" I'll get the Aquaero... What the aquero do?
Radiator: Airplex EVO 360 - 94.95 - Fan Grill - 33.95
Resevoir: Aquatube + Mounting Brackets + Aquajet: 92.85

Anyway, it is nice to see such an interst (and huge thread) on AC.
