Is this for the people who can not flash too? Is so, it don't work! I tried ten times and it will show the firmware is written with os_loader, but will not write the new OS after the power down.

I have tried with nothing connected to the Aquaeros except the power and USB cable.........

I would not want to hear JB weld and aquacomputer in the same breath, but yes it can be done

I wasn't talking of JB welding the A-C grill silly ;) I was talking of JB welding up the misaligned holes on the rad :D

Don't know R1ck, but this is what was written by Shoggy earlier so I would say you get to wait a month:

Shoggy said:
At first: if you have already updated your Aquaero to OS 2.02 and firmware 4.05a the following text is unimportant to you! You are not able to flash the new OS 2.03 or firmware 4.05c! The only thing you can use is a new version of the Aquasuite.
You will have to wait for a new OS loader that will arrive at the end of this month.

(you may stop reading now)

It pays not to be a guinea pig I guess :p BTW, have you tried with a different computer? Perhaps it is the computer USB connection?

Hehe.... doing that right now on a P4 based system.

Top Nurse, the manual says 1.1.
I would say 1.1 SP1 should also be working but 2.0 is a beta - I wouldn't use it.

R1ckCa1n, it seems that you will have to wait for a new OS loader.

Yeah.. that seems to be the story of my life :(

On a side note, I just tried it on a Intel 865 chipset P4 motherboard and it didn't work either.

Now me, I will wait a few days and see what flys or don't fly ;)

FLASH THAT THING NOW!

I forget where I put it. Now where did that thing go...maybe I'll find it in a few days. Hey maybe you can talk Wes into flashing his? Give you something to look at ;) for a while.

Perhaps if Wes can work out some kind of deal with IT-Trade and A-C he might be able to swap your unit out  Sharka is obviously better capitalized than the other dealer so perhaps they might be interested in having someone here in the USA take care of these kinds of things.

Would be nice since shippng for aquaero and aquastream $100.00 and then you hope they dont lose it. As my last post stated it will be awhile before there is a one stop total AC support.

Did you already ship it? I already talked to Wes and he was willing to do warranty replacements so long as he can work something out with A-C and IT-Trade. I guess the ball is in their court now.

If you ship DHL then you get a barcoded delivery from point of shipping all the way to Germany. DHL ships other than super fast....they also do the stuff that takes 3-5 days at considerably less rates.

Well if you bought it from an domestic supplier you should be able to get them to return it for you. But I'm not sure I would want to do that in the case of certain parties. I sold my Airplex Evo 240 to a guy this afternoon who told me his first order to the other dealer took 6 months to get after he already paid up front  Even I was amazed

I would talk to Shoggy before doing this as he had said once before that if you do that it requires a trip to Germany, but it is possible to totally clear the flash memory of anything. Now whether this would help or hinder I know not. I just know it can be done.

Everything came from AC and DHL wanted duty tax on the stuff i wanted to ship. This is the third time ive sent stuff over there. WTF are they thinking, i work at UPS so when i go into work in the morning i can put it into the plane myself and save ( we dont get dicounts 40.00 dollars ) DHL is cool if you have alot of goods you need to move. Just dont use USPS for foriegn shipments they will lose your package and give you no help to boot.

They wanted import duty taxes for an item that was being returned to a manufacturer for warranty work? That totally suxs as you would never get it back from EC customs :( When I wanted to buy something from AC Berlin they were adamant about charging me VAT even when I told them that I was an export customer. They told me I could get it back from "customs." My brother told me that once you pay VAT you will never get it back unless you want to fart around with them for days on end. So that was why I declined to order anything from A-C direct. Franz at IT-Trade is so much easier to deal with for both retail and wholesale shipments. Why did you get this stuff direct from A-C?

Sharka uses some customs broker to move all their stuff around the world. All they do is tell the manufacturer to pack it up and put it in Will Call. Then they call their broker and it all gets handled all the way to their back door. :D Their last A-C shipment went through US Customs in about 24 hours.

Wait, I have an idea. You could flash yours and then Rick would have something to look at. C'mon let the magic smoke out of your Aquero. Flash that puppy! :p

I don't remember where I saw you post the "magic smoke..." line but I thought it was funny. Almost made me spill my coffee.

Well maybe later this week seeing as how I still got to drill and cut on my case. MAybe by next weekend I will be ready to fire it up. ;)

[music/Yanni: Deliverance]

Thought you guys might like to see what left by truck to the Munich airport today from IT-Trade. More Sharka stock on its way to the good ole USA! :D The box on the far right is filled with Cuplex XT P4's and the A64's are piled up on top of all the Twinplex's and Aquatube's (blue, titan, and black) on the left. I think their main page has a more detailed list of what is coming in, but I think I see a pile of Aquadrives too. When they took this pic the fittings were already packed up and out in the warehouse. In case you keep up on this stuff you might notice that the old packing table was too small and they had to find a bigger one! If you see anything you want call to reserve it, but there should be plenty for all the Aqua-Fanz. Let the good times roll...

Hey Top Nurse, success rate for updating Aquaero ist at 100% :D

I meant the new os loader and firmware for aquaeros which not had been flashed ;)

If anyone is interested i will have an AQUAERO LCD and AQUASTEAM for sale once it returns back from germany next week. PM for price info and dibs :D both units will be brand new and the aquaero will be flashed to 4.05.

So you think this has something to do with the fact it won't flash? Did AC test this with the most current 3.99d firmware or am I an isolated case?

Aviddigi said:

Top Nurse's crystal ball tells all

I predict that we will have one-stop total A-C support in less than 6 months here in the USA. Might not have electronic tech's to trouble shoot board level components, but we will have ? to help us out of life's little problems.

I think that the Aqua Computer English website is currently being updated. Also the prices were dropped on the Evo 360 radiators, Cuplex 1.3's, and some other products. We should start to see price changes here in the states in the next month or so as new stock comes in at the newer pricing structure assuming their is no change in the Euro. :D

Yes, you are isolated :p I think the problem with your Aquaero is that the software detects it as a Aquaero with OS 2.02 and doesn't allow you to flash the version 2.03 because that would not work in combination with the current OS loader.

So this begs the question was the new firmware tested with hardware version 4 / firmware version 3.99d Aquaeros? Maybe I can get Wes to trade me Aquaeros to see if it is really an isolated instance.

Time to flash tonight :)
Do it, do it, do it :D

Someone has used my guide and it works:

Thanks a lot. I did follow this procedure and my Aquaero is now running OS v2.03 and firmware v4.05 !

Best regards.

R1ckCa1n, it was also tested with Aquaero 4.0 of course. As far as I know it was tested with every possible combination of hardware and firmware version.

yes! I can not wait for it to ship!

From what Shoggy has said, I will be waiting upwards of a month for a fix on mine...... Mine says it flashs fine, but will not even attempt to write the new OS. I have tried in on two different computers with the same result. Guess mine does not want to flash!

Magic smoke is put into all electronic components. It is what makes electronic stuff really work. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise because when the magic smoke comes out of the part it has a nasty witch brew smell to it and the electronic stuff don't work anymore.

You probably can't see it in the low resolution pic of the Sharka shipment, but see the pile of Twinplex's on the wall? See the three boxes at the top right under the AMD poster? The middle one says "Twinplex C Silber P&C Gerade" :D

Now, how the *&^% (place where the devil lives :)) did you see that? You must work for the FBI or somethin'

Let's call Mr. Franzie and tell him to get that puppy on the truck quick, fast and in a hurry! :p

Well, I finally broke down and ordered some Aqua Computer gear from Franz at It-Trade. While I'm waiting for everything to arrive (been two weeks and hasn't even shipped yet :( which I believe is because the white LED module is out of stock) I have been trying to decide how to lay all this stuff out inside a V2100B case. I would like to mount the Evo 240 grill and Aquatube with bracket at the top of the case.

I do not currently have an SLI setup, but in the fall I most likely will be upgrading. I have noticed that most (all?) SLI boards have only 2 PCI slots and I need access to both of them for a SCSI card and my audigy 2. My question is, will it be possible to mount the aquatube and Evo 240 on the top without blocking the PCI slots on an SLI board? Looking at the two cards in my current case they are almost exactly the same length as my X800XT PE. Any advice is appreciated. :)

Congratulations on ordering your gear :D Curious as to where you live?

Anyway I would tell Franz to ship it and pick up just the part number 34917 which is just the plastic part that you use with a standard LED. For the price fifference you can probably get 3 of them. :p

I have a V2000 case which is similar inside to the V2100. You actually have several choices. You can put the Evo 240 in the top front of the case, but you will lose one maybe two of your 5.25" slots. However, you might then be able to put the Aquastream controller in front of the rad as it isn't very long. If you take out the front HDD rack you then might be able to put it in there vertically with some case mods. Take out both HDD racks and you can mount it to the bottom of the case. You could then do a small enclosure around it and put some internal bracing in to make some ways to mount a few Aquadrives. See my homepage for some ideas how you might put some aluminum support braces in. Another possibility is to put it in the area directly above the PSU, though to do this you would need to cut a slot in the main compartment wall. Then you can use the existing fan holes in the case to cool your rad. :D

Thanks :D , I live in NC. Yeah, good idea I'll have to email Franz and see what he can do.

This seems like a pretty good idea and it wouldnt require too much more case cutting than mounting it up top, I'll definitely look at this once I get ahold of the case (ordering next week). Without ever having had a physical case to examine I'm not sure how much cutting a hole in that area of the main compartment wall wouldl effect the stability of the case with that center bracket removed.

Your welcome :) The link to IT-Trade will allow you to see the part number I was talking about.

If you need anything else you might try Sharka Corp as they are becoming a large distributor of A-C components and are located in California. They actually have a lot of stuff not up on their website yet and a lot more stuff is making it's way over as we speak.

Added: Forgot to mention that Franz is out and about doing some teaching in some other town. So he might not answer as fast depending on whether he has good wireless service where he is at. :) He will be back in the office Thursday though. BTW, did you know that you can chat real time with him via ICQ late at night (for you) as he gets in about 0800 Austria time which I think is about 0300 EST ?

Oh my god I'm ..... ;) It's starting to happen! Wes has finally started putting up more stuff as we speak. XT's just went up for pre-order sale with delivery next week! There is only about 20 of them so get'em while the getting is good. Shoot....that is less than 1 per state in the USA :(

In case anyone is interested Aqua Computer is now selling a Laing DDC variant that has a RPM sensing output.
