It's going to be better then Hardline

"Omg it has gunz, scopes and you shoot in first person. BATTLEFIELD CLONE!!!"
Seriously that article was complete trash. It's like saying every rts feels like Starcraft because you can build units.
Shit I don't care if its a mod. Mods are great. As long as its solid when its release I'll jump on it having seen the gameplay.
Pretty much. I just read the article. The guy is one of the more miniature brains writing for that site, his articles tend to be negative and elitist for teh clickz. Basically complaining that he has never really been a Battlefield fan and isn't very good at these games, and doesnt like console controllers in an FPS with their aim assist - and therefore it's Battlefront's fault and a half assed mod.
You should really re read that article and go in with a neutral stance (hard for you since you hate anything AAA).
He bitches about auto aim, ok that can be turned off/probably won't be on PC. He bitches about flying, yet he couldn't even fly in Bf4 which means he's a noob. He bitches about dying too fast, again he's a noob. He birches about load outs, but what do you want? The same stuff from the original battlefronts where you couldn't change anything?
My favorite is that he complains about the FPS and glitches...on a beta or alpha and on a console. There are legitimate concerns with the game, but almost everything in that article just screams bitching for the sake of bitching.
Oh and as for your "hype machine working", I didn't preorder this game.
Maybe a little more Battlefield in Battlefront would’ve been a good thing. It mostly feels like the same old Battlefront, and I did enjoy my time running around on Hoth—especially when a dramatic piece of Star Wars music kicked in. But as I said back when I first saw the game, Battlefront’s charm was in its goofiness and the way it pulled in expanded universe material. Without that silliness, the simplicity of the new Star Wars Battlefront ends up feeling a bit shallow."
lol, that's just click bait bullshit. The article even says "they don't currently have any development platforms for Xbox One or PC." Yeah, OK. I guess they're just throwing the code directly on those platforms and crossing their fingers then?![]()
So its sounding like DICE can't win. People are saying either "Make it true to the old Battlefront titles, not a Battlefield reskin!" or "Build on what you know and make it like Battlefield, don't dumb it down and casualize it". Sounds like it'll wind up somewhere in the middle which is probably the best that can be done to attempt to appease both groups.
Why are we pinching Dice on trying to create a Star Wars game when the Star Wars genre itself has been bled out more than any other entertainment product known to man? Far beyond any Call of Duty, Battlefield, AC, Halo game, Hollywood movies and any other products. Hypocrisy at it's finest.
All of you know by now that Dice games are indeed terribly launched at release...... so why even bother buying at release to be disappointed again? Wait a few weeks and you'll have less worries about if you can play it or not.

Sure that voucher isn't a one-time use voucher? Tried it and it didn't work for me.
Cause not everyone has problems?

Boggles the mind how many people decry pre-ordering and then one video or 20% off coupon comes out and people jump all over it like a fat kid on cake...
I am hoping this game satisfies me. Getting a little bored with my library. Even with a huge backlog, there are some games that I own that I probably have no intention of every playing.

I've never had a problem with pre-orders, but the fact is that dangling at 20-25% discount makes pre-ordering attractive. Especially considering that it usually takes a little while for that offer to get back on the table after release. Your gambling $45 so that you won't have to pay $60 if the game is a hit and you want it on release day.
So if you pre-order and the game sucks, you are out $45. If you don't pre-order and the game is good, you're only out an additional $15 over what you would have paid anyway. Doesn't seem like a great value proposition to pre-order if you ask me.
Besides, how many games stay at $60 with no kind of 20% off coupon or something after release?
