Its not that I can say Master Modes are bad, but the 3.23 weapon balance/hull health/whatever is really off right now. AI are ace marksmen right now, hell psychic even, so combat feels completely broken.

Would you guys post what HOTAS you all are using and if you like it and if not, which one you'd prefer to use if given the opportunity?
This game is unplayable with a controller.
(Right hand) VKB Gunfighter v1 with Modern Combat Grip (pitch and yaw), (left hand) Thrustmaster T16000 (strafe up, down, left, right and roll), (feet) VKB Rudder Pedals (strafe forward and backward).Would you guys post what HOTAS you all are using and if you like it and if not, which one you'd prefer to use if given the opportunity?

Same! It is the best bang for the buck. Most space sim people go HOSAS (dual sticks) since it helps with 6 DOF flight.
I use dual VKB Gladiator NXT Evos with the ‘space combat’ sticks and have no complaints. Some people get the omni throttle for the left stick but since I don’t play anything else I just went with two normal sticks.

I hope this whole project burns to the ground soon so someone with a little discipline, who actually knows how to develop a game, can come in and pick up the assets for cheap and actually finish the damn thing!
I don't believe that will ever happen. There is far too much technical debt that has already been paid for via backers.who actually knows how to develop a game, can come in and pick up the assets for cheap and actually finish the damn thing!
If they are enjoying this dumpster fire of a feature creep alpha, just imagine how much more they, and people with standards would actually enjoy a complete, stable product. If people are enjoying the game and are happy with the progress, why the hate? You don't like it, don't get involved in it.
Please keep your standards to yourself ;P and support what you enjoy. Clearly there are a lot of people that log on and play feature creep alpha and people are still spending money on this project. Sooo...... I guess your wish won't come true any time soon.If they are enjoying this dumpster fire of a feature creep alpha, just imagine how much more they, and people with standards would actually enjoy a complete, stable product.
I've been "involved" since before they even did the kickstarter. I have as much of a right to point out the bullshit as you do to simp for this crap... it's people like you who are allowing this to happen, ruining it for anyone with rational expectations based on the core promises made. If you don't like people pointing that out then go back to the RSI echo chamber forums.
I have tons of crazy stories about CR and his wife from the early SC days. Anyone who knows about the shady shit they did and how they are still doing should not be giving their company any money. A good portion of that money is not going towards game development. On one had that is quite cool that the studio looks like the interior of a ship. On the other, it is a waste of money and especially problematic because people are donating money. They're donating for a game and this money takes away from hiring more competent people to build content that will benefit them. Though I think it has been obvious for some years Roberts knows this and likely has no plan to deliver the game in a final state. He gets paid a salary, probably more than the typical game developer in his position, and has more leeway than most in his position. He also doesn't need to deliver a product. I'm sure some backers are okay with this and probably tell themselves they enjoy this business model, where they pay up front and hope something that delivers on the advertisements is being developed. I'm sure some will even justify the expensive coffee bar with LED floor lighting (WTF?).

That I don't care about, their money, their problems. What I do care about is the people who donated a decade ago and want something that isn't buggy and something that is more enjoyable to play. A complete product.
umm i think that was the point, money should be going to the game, not fancy floor lighting...Well, it is not a donation, you are backing a project(pledging), so you are giving your $$ with the hopes of getting something out of it at some point (Playing the game for example when finished, super early access).
There's no fix for stupidpeople are still spending money on this project. Sooo......
You are pledging to the project. The project is not just paying devs to write code, and you don't get to dictate how they achieve the goal right?umm i think that was the point, money should be going to the game, not fancy floor lighting...
Is there a fix for arrogance? There's no fix for stupid

Anyways, I think that shitter is now posturing the game to be sold off to Microsoft just like he did with Freelancer 20 years ago. That's always been his exit strategy. Milk this shit for as long as possible, and make a final push eventually with SQ42 to get a buyer so he can bail. This is his track record. No one should expect any different.
sorry, didnt realize "fancy rgb floor lighting" was in the stretch goals...You are pledging to the project. The project is not just paying devs to write code, and you don't get to dictate how they achieve the goal right?
Feel free to start your own project and get funded, and don't use RGB flooring!sorry, didnt realize "fancy rgb floor lighting" was in the stretch goals...![]()
I'm all for thatMicrosoft getting duped again would be funny.

Honestly, most people who backed early on would have been fine with everything if the original plan of releasing squadron 42 happened. We wouldn't have minded waiting years for everything else.It is just poor form. People donated expecting something within their rough outline. Even with a delay of 6 years a complete product should have been out by 2020.
Shouldn't have been used to buy a nice new house in the Austin area or buy an Aston Martin either, but it was.isn't crowdfunding money only meant to be used for game development costs and not refurbishing of the offices?
No, crowdfunding is like being an investor without a share of the company or vote. You receive a fixed return for your pledge(and even that is not guarantied if the project fails), and that is all you get. So you don't get dictate how that money is spent.isn't crowdfunding money only meant to be used for game development costs and not refurbishing of the offices?
