Speaker and Headphone Rigs Picture Thread

Not very complicated. I responded to atarione's post about his VU meters with a picture of my spectrum analyzer.

The little speakers are iLoud Micro Monitors for my MacBook Air.
It sounds complicated, but it doesn't matter, you probably deal with sound, those speakers are supposedly the smallest small active monitors in the world, probably the best.

By the way, these edifier r19bt came to me today, some redragon speakers broke and they can't be repaired, so they refunded my money.Normally they are not loud but the sound is really good, "warm".I listen to the radio station online and they sound nice, they even have bass.

Fairly Horribly uncomfortable and definitely "Worse" than the MDR-V6 headphones that replaced them... Sony DR-S3 vintage headphones, which I bought ENTIRELY becasue the Dead Kennedys wore them in video of the "Lost Tapes". These are sort of a pain because the ear-pads are glued in and I can't find any replacements and so far haven't been able improvise anything that well... hopefully can find a solution as getting them comfortable enough to wear would be great...

In fairness my MDR-V6's or 7510s are objectively much more comfortable and sound better.. but I still want to be able to give these more of a go.

These should easily be the #1 pick when someone says : " I need computer speakers"
These beat the fuck out of the klipsch and logitech setups. They are shockingly good.
Interesting, I've never heard of this klipsch either(and their studio bookshelf speakers are also expensive), but ok, usually what I've noticed is that all those who switch from logitech 5.1 (their best 5.1 speaker is the Z906 right now, I guess) to these studio monitors mostly complain about weak bass.It seems that there are a lot of brands and companies that manufacture speakers.

Since the original threads were a little dated, I think it's about time to post a new thread. I also think it's a good idea to consolidate the two threads and have a separate discussions thread.

Post Your Speaker and Headphone Rig's
RULES:
1. If you want to comment, YOU MUST POST A PICTURE. QUOTING SOMEONE ELSES PICTURE DOESN'T COUNT
[DISCUSSION THREAD HERE] <--- quote and talk all you want in the discussion thread. The object is to keep the picture thread flowing and not littered with quoted pics, o/t chit chat, and red x's.

2. It has to be a pic of "YOUR" rig. Follow general [H] rules on posting. (hotlinked images etc will not be tolerated)

3. Large images are a good thing for picture threads, unless they are HUGE like 2560x1600. Let's keep the size reasonable but don't whine about 1280x1024 images. If you do whine, you MUST post a picture.
The only exception to large images is if your host is horribly slow, for those I will kill the image tag if it slows the page from loading. The link will be preserved though.

4. You have to read the rules.

Here's how I usually get better pictures: ymmv

1. USE A TRIPOD.
2. Try not to use a flash if possible and mess with the aperature settings instead (possible with tripod)
3. Have good lighting
4. Try not to use your cell phone or webcam for a camera.
The Adire sub is classic I almost built a sonotube, but couldn't find the Adire Shiva driver. Are they OOB in 2024?

Plus the modern SVS designs are quality for the price my SB 2000 does 18Hz @ 100dB.

Iirc, Adire Audio shutdown a long time ago but eventually some other entity picked up the ip. Not sure I'd trust the new stufff being the same and like you eluded there are a lot of modern sub options these days. For the price they were hard to beat. You could build a pair of dual tempest 15s for the price of a single sb2000. You'd need to amp them externally though.

The original owner Dan Wiggins tried to move manufacturing to South America back in 2007 which didn't work out and ended up shutting down. Not sure on the exact history on the new owners though.

There's a lot of other car audio brands that have pretty equivalent drivers as well these days compared to 15 years ago.

Damn, a lot of nice cans posted recently. Idk if I'm ever going to start down the can road... slippery slope, right?

Well, a little more then 1 year to the date since I last posted in this thread, but my big boomy-ass sub is finally gone :D

Was out Black Friday perusing (was NOT intending to buy a darn thing today), but we headed to Des Moines and mainly were hitting up all the hole in the wall record stores in search of vinyl, but came across a Paradigm dealer's store next door to a vinyl shop. Had to stop in, my living room is Paradigm/Denon setup, so I was right at home.

I ended up walking out with a "yet to be announced" Essentials Sub 10 subwoofer (you can check their Paradigm's website, this line isn't there yet). The shop had to call Paradigm and get the pricing this afternoon, it was that new lol. It wasn't in their POS system, and the rep took the time to wire it up for me in one of their demo areas.

I demo'd it alongside a pair of 6000F's in a 2.1 config and was sold.

Night and day difference between this and the old F12. This thing compliments the ES320's so nicely, just adding a bit more to the bottom end while not overwhelming (but it can certainly do that if needed). I can't get over the articulation, it's SO much tighter. Feels like the bassist for a given band is sitting behind me playing along, it's wild.

I paid $399.99 + tax for those of you wondering. We have yet to see the listed MSRP lol.

I'm also very glad I didn't go with a 8" like I was kind of set on 1 year ago, too many compromises when going down that small on a woofer.

Very cool audio setup, mate! Smart move on avoiding a micro-subwoofer. I ended up trading my 3000 Micro for the SVS SB-3000 and am much happier with the tight, punchy bass from the bigger sub.

Appreciate it man, ty!

Amen, on the tightness > power! I'm slowly learning these lessons, but omg, you SVS might have both in spades  Beastly little woofer my dude! Only slightly jealous.

Gorgeous speakers! Bet they sound great, too.

What are you using to drive them?

Aiyima A80 with those OpAmp upgrades. Some would not even entertain an amp that wasn't the same price as the speakers, but IMO that's old school mindset, these days you can get high-end audio from these sorts of class D DAC/Amp hybrids that have better sonic capability than old amps that were the size of VCRs. This A80 beats my old NAD C325 Bee, NAD D 3045, Rotel RA02 and NAD D 7050 for example. OpAmp rolling is a fundamental game changer for HiFi upgrades.

I'm with you on Class D vs. older stuff. Today's D amps are pretty impressive without the massive bulk and blast furnace effects of yesterday's gear. That Aiyima A80 is a sweet little device. I wanted to get a Geshelli dac so I could do OpAmp upgrades, but they're never in stock.

I remember seeing those anniversary speakers being blown out but with not much of any talk about them online, how do you like them?
Incredible sound and basically exactly what I was looking for in a speaker. The way they become invisible in the room is something unique.

updated:
optimus pro LX7 fronts, CS5 centre, X77 surrounds(all Linaeum tweeters), LX5s move to front height, edit: added Merak MB4 back surrounds(made by Axiom), moved the polk XT90s to rear height/ceilings and a custom 12" mtx Focal sub, run on a pioneer vsx-935 denon x3800h and my pc in 7.1.4 atmos/dtsx.
yeah its a little cluttered but it keeps the cats off and out of it.

And here is the setup after a few changes. Sold the Emotiva BasX A-100 amp and Schiit Modi Multibit DAC, and picked up a new Schiit Mimir DAC. Debating on whether to buy the Schiit Gjallarhorn amp, so swapped in a set of Presonus E3.5 powered speakers for now. Headphone lineup includes Beyerdaynamic DT 880 (600 ohm), Senneheiser HD-6XX (Massdrop), Sony MDR-V6, and Audio-Technica ATH-M50x.
