Skyrim Modding Megathread

I'll give that a shot. Anyone happen to see the possible tall/medium waterfall change in RWT 2.1? Looks fantastic.

Stop!theradio, did you turn off FXAA in the Skyrim launcher? I thought ENB was breaking Skyrim for a while, but I just had that turned on. Flipped it off and haven't had any issues since.

Yeah, FXAA is turned off. I had ENB working on my previous install but I just can't seem to remember how I got it working.

Holy jeebus...duh I completely forgot about that. Where is my brain lately? Lol thanks, it worked.

I thought v1.0.5 worked with the other programs running? Or maybe it was a patch.

Better Riften

Probably will not work well with City Forests and Landscape. :( Where is Better Cities for Skyrim?

Edit: City Forests and Landscape and Better Riften work fine together. Only issue I saw was one aspen tree shooting though the wooden ceiling near the entrance.

What I'm not liking about Realistic Lighting is that it makes indoors way too dark, no matter how much I tweak it. It's not actually realistic at all since a torch only lits a small area around it and walls don't reflect/diffuse light, and the best people can come up with is that this is Bethesda's fault for not adding enough torches in most areas.

Yeah, that becomes really apparent with RL.

Also, most outdoors areas with snow during the day are way too bright, to the point it's not possible to see the snow texture anymore and it's plain white.

Snow blindness!

But yeah, the daytime brightness needs to be toned down a bit.

Nexus is just getting pounded with demand. All but hopeless trying to get something off of there.

Thanks dj_2004 for the updates. I try to keep up to date on the "Latest releases" but I just can't keep up with the huge daily influx of mods like "reworked perks X".

Yeah, been a pretty rough weekend. Works out better to play on the weekend and peruse mods on the weekdays.

That would be so awesome if Bethesda devs started making mods. They wouldn't have to go through as stringent QA since they're just releasing them as mods instead of actual patches/DLC. Some people will whinge about them making us beta testers, but that's what mods tend to be like and I'd be down for it if the mods were made by actual Beth devs ;)

Have any of you tried Dwemer Certified? I tried deploying a Crossbow Sphere but nothing appears; however, guards react to it ("you shouldn't be leaving weapons around") as do villagers (a villager picked it up and handed it back to me). In the video, after he crafts the Construct, it automatically appears. This does not happen in my game. I guess I'll try some other Constructs. Edit: Silly me, the Crossbow is an add-on for the Sphere.

About the RL snow blinding issue:
Again, play with targetLum2MultiplierDay and sunlightScaleMultiplierDay values. I run mine at 1.16/.75, which eliminates most of the blinding effect produced by snow. Still some blindness exists, mainly with the snow wind effect, but I want to give sunlight enough brightness in other parts of the world so it is a trade off. You'll probably want to up skyScaleMultiplierDay too if you increase Lum2. Otherwise the sun will look like a white ball.

No snow blindness but I felt the game was too dim looking: http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o22/98LS1TA/TESV2012-02-1910-03-56-36s16.jpg
Good enough (settings previously stated): http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o22/98LS1TA/TESV2012-02-1919-16-26-60116.jpg

Speaking of nighteye. Is there a mod that allows it to be a toggled power (no cooldown or limitations) whenever I'd like to use it? Being that my character is Dunmer, I'd like to have that ability inherent & readily available.

I haven't noticed it to do much good anyway. I tried using night eye a couple of times and it actually made it harder to see, lol.

It's really only helpful if you're using a mod that makes dark places actually dark.

Realistic Lighting definitely does that. IMO the defaults are a little too dark in some of the shadows and such.

Looks like isoku is done working on RWT and Optic is now the person in charge of it. Hopefully the new 2.1 waterfalls get used and the floating waterfall in the Whiterun realm is fixed.

Anyone using open cities and try starting a new game? I got to the Helgen keep and both routes ended up being broken. I'll probably just leave it off for this play through since it still only works for two cities.

I tried open cities, but ended up turning it off because i waited maybe 2-3 minutes of 1 frame per 20 seconds until everything loaded.

New Sounds of Skyrim component has been released: The Wilds. I've been waiting for this one. :)

Nice! The Wilds is the one I've been mostly looking forward to too. Time to wander the Rift and Reach after I get it installed.

Not sure if it is the new Sounds of Skyrim, or the new Striped Shadow fix, but I've been getting a lot of stutter today.

I tried both those mods and shortly after noticed a stutter too...really just when turning around or entering a new area...unfortunately I dont know what caused it, I tried disabling each of my mods separately but still had the stutter...finally I just deleted my DATA folder, reinstalled the mods I like, and now no more stutter.

Hello, does anyone know if there is any mod that increases the amount of health of enemies/monsters, let's say by 100% or 200% or even more? It seems the game is too easy when you get legendary weapons etc, even at the master difficulty. I would like the fights to last longer than 1 or 2 swings of my weapons.

Are you using PISE? It does more than just increase the health, it has enemies use powers more often, health potions, etc.

Interesting...

"Fixed crash when loading a subscribed mod that has been removed from Workshop by the author"

So does that mean mod authors can remove their mods from you system? or not?

If you're subscribed to a mod then it will be removed from your system if the author removes it from the workshop.

Well that doesn't sound handy at all. I have at least 3 mods which i still use and enjoy which are no longer being developed.

Silly decision imo.

PISE + Deadly Dragons = difficult Skyrim AND epic loots!!

Is there like a list of must have graphics/texture mods anywhere? Theres just so many to choose from I don't know where to start.

...never mind it's in the first post.

I'm not sure if Wilderness Sounds is working or not. I don't hear anything different/new.

Yeah, I hear the birds. I guess I thought that was in vanilla, haha.

Some are (baby chirps, hawks, maybe some others) but the new ones replay often so it is easy to tell. Another way to test is to listen to rain as the new sounds are much louder than regular rain.
