Thanks, I got a 10ft monoprice cable and no more random flashing. Works perfectly at 4k with a KS8500, even using on-board video on my Z170 board.

Just installed my monitor arm...

The Predator X34 is great but the stock stand is a monster, taking more than half of my desk from back to front.
I had an Atdec stand but it still took up too much space and the minimum distance was still too high.

This is a Herman Miller Flo arm - beautiful quality, easily handles the 34" display and actually quite cheap for what it is. Comparable quality to the Humanscale M2 series but without that commercial office look.


Not sure what to do with the transmitter for the headphones - that little black brick is an eyesore.

A wrapped my cables in a cosmetic wrap - I wonder if they can make it all the way from the case with the power and display port cables.
I also thought maybe I could stich it to the bottom of the desk?
 
How do you like the TV on top? I'm thinking of doing something similar. Do you use it for tv or consoles at all? I'm worried mine would be too high.

Also, what do you have holding it? Just a basic wall mount?

Just a basic Ebay Chinese wall mount.

But in truth, the TV stays off most of the time, and its only really used when I have guests over. It sits a bit too high to enjoy at the chair, there is a couch behind the chair that is used for more relaxed group viewing. It's mostly for show, not much real use out of it.

Sorry, no photos from the actual construction, just a couple of sketches:





The mounts are from Multibrackets - 3 x M VESA Flexarm 360 II; the one for the main monitor is custom made - a 10x10 cm metal plate attached to the horizontal beams.

All the wires stuffed into a box made from a PVC material called "forex". You can see a lot of pics here: https://postimg.org/gallery/iz1v3ft0/
 
lol, best story ever regarding playing doom.

i've also had visitors because of my dooming, but those were mostly angry neighbors.

that's a glorious looking setup. i'm so tempted to go the 4K tv route. i'm just not sure how much i'd miss g-sync and 144hz. regardless, great looking setup you have there man.
 
Dual Dell U2410f 1920x1200 monitors. Can't complain. Desk could use a little cleaning so don't just too harshly.

Thanks! It's too late for you to go back to 60Hz. You might as well wait for a 32-38 inch monitor with 120Hz + Gsync or Freesync + HDR + 4k. Enjoy what you have now. I've never played on a 100Hz+ monitor so I don't know any better. Only reason I went the 4K TV route.

Guys with the 43" and 49" TVs.

Could you please post a photo of your display with some icons / forum text on the screen? I'm trying to see how big/small stuff looks on it at 4k before i pull the trigger.

(right now stuff is too small for me on a 34" widescreen Asus - i have to strain my eyes or sit real close)
 
48" 4k DPI is pretty much identical to 24" 1920x1080. So the 49" is slightly bigger. Then 43" is ~10% smaller... Maybe that helps. I've moved and don't have my 48" set up yet.

i mean you can just make shit bigger with windows dpi scaling setting.

The 43" has the same PPI as 30" 1600p, so icons are slightly larger than your screen (about 10%).

Your 34" has the same PPI as a 40" 4K TV.

If you are having problems reading your screen get the 48" 4K or move your monitor closer.
