whhaaaat? cp was way better than clear sky, I never had any issues with it, aside from the normal x-ray issues.
Who said otherwise??
This is not good, I like the engine, but being tethered to Epic, Stalker 2 will be a Epic store exclusive, if so, I will not buy it.
Wouldn't amaze me if they couldn't find any other publisher. From their announcement, I'm going with a 50/50 chance it will be on Epics client only.
I feel it was the atmosphere which made STALKER a great game. This was, in part, due to the gritty realism, with all its quirks and problems, created by the X-RAY engine. I still remember the first time I fought off the bandit attack on the train depot during a thunderstorm.
I think it is about time to move past the epic hate, but w/e
But then how would they build the hype train and get people to pay for the development of the game by preordering.I almost wish games would announce their release like, when they release.
Or how about move past most "hate"? These threads are filled with people hating. Sometimes the hate is valid, but most of the time they're hating just to hate.its going to be epic exclusive, maybe for a year or so. they get nothing going to steam, pay more. epic will probably cut them a sweet deal.
over the past year epic has handed out some 35 free games, and their sale deals have been much better than the steam offerings.

I'm 99% positive the guy who holds the rights and was essentially responsible for the initial sequel being canned and most of the original team leaving will have zero problem bending the knee to Epic.
Steam, Uplay, EGS, shouldn't matter, but I will freely admit I hate the anti-consumer bs and veiled bribery of artificial exclusives.
Right now I'm just hoping we get (a) something at all and (b) something with the spirit of the original games in spite of all the time and changes
AFAIK, Valve doesn't require a developer only sell their game their platform. If they choose to, that's up to them. EPIC has a different business model, and only they know how successful that is.Why exactly is someone not wanting to throw away 30% of their profit "bending the knee"? What other industry is there that collects 30% profit for a webhosting service? Steam is just a tool library. They do nothing for the games they host. If your game is popular it will get put on the front page. If it is not, it will disappear in all the trash. A recent article talked about how Steam is slowing down, going from 8400 releases a year to 8000. That means nothing since only about 100 are actual games and not asset flip trash. You want to hate on epic, that's fine, but don't hate on the developers who choose to survive by using them.
valve in their terms and conditions specifically blocks their customers being treated differently than customers on other stores. to make the same profit from steam that they would on epic companies would have to charge 25% more. how would you feel if you PERSONALLY had to pay a 25% steam tax rather than the developer eating it. Is that something you would choose so you get all the "steam features"?
