Post your "rate my cables" here

Come on it can't be that bad...
with a case like this

I am willing to believe him ;)

Modred hit the nail on the head, its a POS!!!!!

I am looking to spend 150-200 on a new case, was thinking about the Antec 1200.

Is this a good choice?

Cleaned up, switched to a modular power supply, needs a little more tweaking and I think I can make them all disappear...

Everything installed. Forgot to tuck in those sata cables above the psu. They're normally not visible

Had to zip tie them for the u-turn

eSATA routed to front and inside of the case

Nice! That's gotta be at 'least 6TB if not more huh... Is it a media server for your home or is that your main rig? Love the Laughing Man and the display, heh. What's the top-most thing on the front that's kinda sticking away from the bezel? Over the media card reader, almost looks like it's part of it...

Nah, it's not quite 6TB. This is my main rig. 6 x 147GB 15k U320 SCSI drives for OSes, 6 x 500GB AAKS for storage. I also do have a media server with 8 x 750GB :)

Nice rigs guys! I am getting ready to post my new file server. 4x 640gb aaks, 2x 500gb, 1x 200gb (os drive)

It won't be as nice as some of your setups, but it should last me a little while.

I have 2x 500GB AAKS and that's plenty for me. :D

I run my OS on an older 250GB Maxtor Diamond Max 10 or 11.

Damn nice system.
2 Questions...
What LCD is that and does the laughing man logo move/is it animated?

WOW ! Some great rigging guys. Cable management has never been one of my strong suits. Thanks for all the ideas.

I agree with you mngri4, you guys really know how to route those cables well! Thanks for all of the pictures they are great!

Cleaned up my wiring some more and added my HR-05sli from my old build to my current build.

^ One of the cleanest rig's I have ever seen , Very Nice!.;)

thanks :). im still far from done too. i plan on sleeving my psu(24 pin + 6 pins for video card, and 8 pin for mobo)

probably going to mount my hard drives under the dvd drive and remove the drive cage.

Unless you plan on having more than 2 HDD's, I never use the HDD cage. It is usually impossible for me to utilize 4 - 5 (or more) standard 5.25" bay slots. So, I think that is a great idea. It really cleans up the interior of your case and in almost every single instance, it helps with airflow from a front mounted intake fan. You should also notice a small drop in your over all temperatures (case, video cards, etc). Here are a couple of examples of some of my setup's:

BEFORE THE HDD CAGE WAS REMOVED:

For a phase change/water cooled system that looks pretty clean, ie...you only have showing what is absolutely necessary, good job.

yeah that was my plan. i was thinking putting the drives in a pair of HDD enclosures like ones that Scythe offers, or if I had enough money using ones like this

nice setup btw.

I might look into getting a separate HDD cadge..... I just re-wired my case completely and its still not worthy of being shown here.. but if the HDD cadge was gone it would definitely free up some space and would let my 260 breathe

Anyone know if running psu cables (24pin, 8pin) underneath the motherboard itself will casue and problems/harm ? Might do that on my tj07 since the motherboard spacers provide pretty good space.

I want SATA connectors that go sideways like on DFI boards :(

get sata cables with 90 degree angled connectors :)

it shouldn't cause any harm as long as where they are being run through does not cause any of the insulation on the wires to get warn off.

that's one build

n503211260_1083362_2734.jpg

thats the other build

idk. i cant seem to get my cable management on the level as most of the pics shown here...my biggest problem is the fan cables...should i splice them and make them shorter or what? any suggestions?

The sata ports arent facing the right way to do what he wants.

Exactly. My pictures don't show this very good, but the SATA ports on the DS3-L are horizontal, not vertical. So with the angled cables would just face straight upwards and downwards, which would clearly look worse ;)

hey stara, shoot me a pm. I can help you with setting up both of the cases wiring right.

Still much work to do here, may even put the sys in something else. The Antec 300 is pretty decent for $50 though.
