Payday 2

Fuck the way drops work in this game, the cards system is ass.

I'm nearly level 40 with several million $$$ and have gotten a fucking pistol silencer, grip, and a couple other completely useless to me things. Like holy shit I just want to play with some new gizmos. I've literally been using the same fucking gun for 95% of my play time because it seems like nothing is really better and I haven't gotten a single thing for it anyway.

Framing Frame is pretty easy to stealth once you got it figured out, and I was making like 900,000 per with friends on overkill, and quite a lot of exp... enough to send a new player from 1 to 18 after they went through it with us.

Yeah, I'm level 57 and I haven't found a single sight...been using the pre-order bonus one the entire time, switching it between guns. I've also found like, maybe a dozen masks, a few of which are duplicates of each other. I JUST found a Cthulhu, though, which is pretty sweet except I've seen it drop for about 2-3 other people in games I've been in so it is one of the more common Infamous drops, apparently.

The biggest issue is at higher levels you are just grinding for XP to upgrade skills, and grinding cards hoping for anything you can actually use (I have literally gotten doubles of almost every weapon upgrade I've gotten, and 90% of it is for weapons I would never use anyway). So it leads to things like speedrunning missions like Ukrainian Job and Nightclub. And then the developers nerf that by adding the Escape sequence.

It is fun game overall, but making a shitty upgrade system that only rewards grinding and then making it difficult and un-fun to grind is a shitty way to design a game. I'm glad I got up to 57 with the old ways, I'd be pissed if I just got the game and had to grind the new, slower way. Takes long enough to level up just doing regular missions.

All you need is the pump shotgun and whatever secondary you like the most. I generally use the least amount of ammo and get the most kills.

i always use the shotgun secondary, since i end up using the saw a lot. But yep way more kills and i use hardly any ammo

I'll have to try that, too. I've been doing pretty well getting headshots with varying assault rifles and such.

I've been using the Desert Eagle with the extended barrel and the Monolith, lol. The gun is like 2 feet long.

I've tried the shotgun (secondary one) but I wasn't a huge fan. It didn't feel like it did that much more damage than the DE, and the DE reloads faster.

For primary I like either the M308 or the AMR-16.

Ya but you have to make your shots count since you can't reload fast so it forces you to aim better an shoot conservatively, it also suppresses a hell of a lot more.

personal i like the ak762 the best because it has good damage and shoots slow, which makes utter very good as suppressing and conserving ammo.

the amr 16 blows through ammo way to fast my taste.

and the m308 is excellent for accuracy and damage but its crap for suppressing.

I'll give the AK-762 a try, got plenty of money to blow...what about the AK5?

I do pretty well with the M308 because I prefer to aim well and do much more damage rather than just have to spray guys with an automatic. But I also like the range versus a shotgun.

The ak5 is ok but it doesn't do much dmg. The 762 does good damage. so you can snipe a bit if you have the optics. and its great for suppressing since it takes a while to go through the 30 round mag.

most people focus on dmg and don't care about suppression. but its very useful. especially if you are trying to move a bunch of bags across the street on overkill.

Yeah...I also have most of the suppression perks since I am pretty much full Enforcer with a few points in Ghost for speed increase.

Haha that's exactly the spec i am right now. i am thinking all the rest of my points will go into technician so i can get thre body armor perks high up in the tree.

Also, you can eventually get C4 when you're high enough level.

Just tried the AK-762 a bit. I like it...needs an optic but I like it a lot.

ya i use the eotech site( i forget what its called in game). but i would like to try the acog one if i ever actually get it. don't bother using the optic right before the acog. the reticle is off so you have to aim higher, which is really annoying.

I have to use the military sight that came with the pre-order because I have never found another sight.

Ya i guess i got lucky. i got 2. but i have terrible luck with masks in 54 lvls i have only got 3 masks lol.

So Cpl questions. The abilities you unlock in the skill tree can you fill in all the trees so you can use different classes or is there a way you can reset them?

How many masks can you have?

The drop system gave me a different gunstock or something but I can't find it anywhere in the inventory. Anyone know where it is?

Lastly why is it when you aim down site it looks blurry? You need to squint and it seems better off to not aim just get people in your crosshairs and shoot like quake.

Where do you change classes for the next round?

2) How many masks can you have?

5) Where do you change classes for the next round?

1) You can fill as many trees as you want, but it's not possible to get enough points to fill all of them. You might be able to max out two trees or so at level 100, but I'm not sure about that even. Problem is, on lower tiers it costs you 1 skill point to get a skill, and then 3 more to "Ace" it (improved version). On higher tiers it is 4 and 8 points respectively.

You can respec (e.g. clear out and get the points back) an entire tree at once, but you lose much of the money required to spec it out, which can be up in the millions if you were high up in the tiers. There's no way to just respec individual skills.

2) You can have any number in your inventory, but you can only use/customize 9 at once. After that you have to sell them to get the slots back, and you lose all of the customizations that are on the sold mask.

3) Check for the exclamation points near weapons/masks to see new items. It may be that you don't have the weapon purchased yet that can use it, so go to the weapon purchase screen and see if you see a little exclamation point next to a weapon.

4) It's some Depth of Field nonsense...I think it is overdone and annoying, but that's why. Basically you can only "focus" on stuff you see right in front of you.

5) You go to Loadout between rounds to pick different weapons/equipment/armor. You can't access things like modifications, masks or skills during this time, only weapons and things you already have unlocked.

Yeah, I'm level 57 and I haven't found a single sight...been using the pre-order bonus one the entire time, switching it between guns.

I only had 1 sight until about 57-58, the basic Holographic sight too...then right when I hit like 59-60 I got 2 others almost back to back so now I'm set. It was quite annoying only have 1 optic in almost 60 lvls.

This. For primary I'm using the AK762 with the milspec optic, russian tactical foregrip, and the wooden sniper stock and it's just beast mode...headshots all day long, even cuts through armor on the SWAT guys with relative ease if you get into a close-quarters gun battle.

Secondary is the Locomotive with the surgeon sight optic, silent killer suppressor, police shorty stock, and extended mag. Also cuts through most mobs with no problems and has decent range.

The only other gun I think rivals the AK762 is the Mosconi double barrel...it's seriously OP right when you buy it, no mods needed.

I guess I'm still confused where do you go to say choose either your mastermind skill tree/ abilities or say one of the other 3?

Also for mastermind and the others can you only use your one specialty item once per round such as the doctors medical bag?

You only have 'one character' that can pick from any of the trees. You have all your unlocked skills at the same time, though of course some are item-unlocks and you can generally only have one of those.

'special item' use is one per round unless augmented by the tree (extra doctors bag, extra ECM, etc)

What is the single player like in this game? It sounds like it is more geared towards co-op?

If anybody is interested, I just got the game....I bought the 4 pack, so let me know if you are interested. Heatware under steven88 (92-0-0)

Well, I'm over 45 now, still have never seen a scope for any gun, and still have only one mask that I got at like level 4.

3 million dollars and growing because there's literally nothing to spend it on, and nothing to do other than try to grind fast missions, which is tedious as fuck (so I don't because it's just plain not fun) and I'm still not necessarily working towards anything I want because it's a complete and utter crapshoot. I've beaten every mission on the hardest difficulty without ever getting more than 2 (I think) mods for a single gun, and zero for the one I'm using now. There's really not much more to do other than fucking hope I get to try mixing it up a little.

Growing bored before ever getting to use a single sight for any weapon, or finding another mask is probably a pretty good possibility. Seriously, what the fuck -- I've had the same mask for literally 95% of my play time, and probably could of been using the same exact gun I got at roughly the same time if I didn't switch only because I wanted to shoot something different.

Yeah, I hope they increase the drop rates for sights or something...starting to get really tedious.

Respec into the Ghost tree for a bit to get the higher chance of rare items perk, that should help a ton.

I love that they patched the the jobs so multi day gives a ton of xp now. now more grinding shitty nightclub and Ukrainian.

Yeah, I love that too. It sucks that you will sometimes get escapes (or multiple ones) during the long jobs, though. I didn't have a huge problem with them doing it for the single-day ones, but it just make the multi-day ones sooooooo much longer.

Now it's just multi day grinding. ~170k xp for doing a rats quick run that takes maybe 15 minutes tops. I've also done about 20 framing frames in the past 3 days. Honestly, the heists are getting so boring now. 17 heists with 75% being rehashed is just plain fucking retarded. Big Oil is tedious for no reason(the rewards are epic shit), and Firestarter gets old as well.

Ugh, why is trying to stealth Framing Frame day 3 so effing hard? We tried like 20+ times in a row and couldn't do it. I've managed it once with a couple other guys, but I think you really have to have a bunch of Ghost/Mastermind guys to do it.

With 4 guys, it's a massive joke. With 3, still a joke. 2 can be hard, but still not that hard. Now on your own, you just have to take your time slowly and make sure to bag those bodies and time your kills correctly.

If you have a Mastermind, it's trivial.

Shoot 4, make 1 surrender, you win. You just have to be weary of cameras and you're fine.

I guess we didn't have enough Masterminds...we had 3 people but not enough pager answers to keep it from going off.

I'm able to bag bodies now, but I'm not really a stealth build.

I recorded me doing it, go to 44 minutes.

The first mission is the most annoying but it's pretty easy overall once you get the hang of it. You can run out like a shithead once you have all 4, just don't get yourself locked inside.

edit: weird the stream got fucked up apparently, but the whole first mission is there, and there's nothing to the 2nd. Just kill 4 dudes whenever you see one alone, and handcuff the last one and congrats you've beaten the 3rd.
EDIT AGAIN: i lied i refreshed and it fixed, it's actually all there
