Payday 2

I guess most missions people end up doing when I play are Jewelry Store, Bank Heist, Ukranian Job, stuff that is better for XP and card farming I guess. Not a ton of money.

Bank Heist takes too long for my tastes, when I do stealth I always become greedy and decide to get all the damn deposit boxes so it takes ages. Usually Ukranian is a pretty good balance between money/xp. 75k spend for about 50 seconds is pretty nice. I would just occasionally do Rats or Watchdogs if you really need money.

I played with a buddy of mine and 2 rando's and we did such a good job dropping 2 ecm's and tying up people in the cubes that I was able to stand in front of the bank for 38 minutes in casing mode while they drilled and cleared out all the safety deposit boxes.

Except on Ukrainian you get way more XP (Around 17k I believe), more money(not that 75k is anything to brag about, but still better than diamond on normal) and its done within 50 seconds or less.

My biggest gripe with this game so far is the god damn bullshit rehash of the maps/locations. Why is the bank pretty much 6 of the heists on its own? Why does it feel like they took the stuff from the beta and just changed it a tiny bit and called it a new heist? I'm not a fan of that, but other than that it's pretty good.

True, however my last mission last night was the Bank (Cash) and when we opened the vault there was no money or gold. It turned into a deposit box heist which is fun as its the element of surprise.

Played with decent pug group last night and got from lvl 10 up to lvl36. which allowed me to get the saw. which is fun but i think the c4 is more useful. since you can speed run stuff.

Friend, explosives will *always* be more fun. That's why I use det-cord to cut my woodworking projects. You don't get the most accurate miters though ..

I think you must have gotten Bank Heist, and not Bank Heist (Cash)...with no specification it is a random thing (deposit, cash, gold), but I've never had it not be what it specified in the title.

Just did a couple Bank Heists with a guy with the Saw on Overkill...like 500k per, awwww yeeeah.

We have that Steam group, we should all team up for some jobs. I feel like generally we are not retarded like some randoms. :p

Coworker got the saw last night. 300k-500k for 5min bank deposit box runs ftw!

Thought I'd add that if you are playing with a consistent group, definitely have everyone pick up the Ace version of the bonus experience skill in the Mastermind tree (I think it's called Fast Learner?). The bonus stacks, so if everyone has it you get a good bit of extra exp. It's only tier 3, so it's not going to cost you much if you choose to respec later.

Yeah, I just ran a few Bank jobs with some random guys and we made crazy money. Saw is definitely worthwhile, though the durability is pretty shit and it's only really useful at the bank.

If it didn't take up a primary weapon slot it'd be better.

Very fun IMO. Plus it's only $30, and I'm sure there will be a sale at some point. GMG had it for $24 on a pre-order (though you did not get the pre-order bonuses) so it's bound to have some discounts.

I think someone else mentioned it, but the guns in this game feel like probably some of the best I've ever used. The sound assets, the recoil, the animations are all just top-notch. It really feels like you're using a powerful weapon. It's amazing how many games these days feel like you're using a pea shooter.

What's the consensus for this game? Fun??

It's good. They fixed some problems in Payday, left a TON, added new ones, but overall it feels a lot more competitive to other shooters these days.

I loved the endless sprinting from the first. Especially with the weight bogging you down it would have been perfect to allow you to get a slight boost. It doesn't give you much of an advantage anyways and kind of a lame reason to add it as a perk. Ammo is always scarce and I never agreed with the first game that it should be some "perk" and it's to the extreme in this game. Feels wasteful of perk points, not to mention cash and limited perk points available is kind of a cheesy way to buy new perks. Points do nothing without the cash. Cops drop less ammo unless you have the perk (wasting more skill points). Cops are still endless and take massive amounts of damage while you get hit by them with insane damage. Until you start to get a higher up in the perk tree, leveling, and cash to buy new stuff it just feels like you're working your way to play the game at a level field of what you're up against. Crime.net is a 50/50. Interesting, but I'd personally rather have the list of servers. No more "Easy" difficulty to get a feel for maps anymore :\

Some people would disagree and loved the way things were from Payday > Payday 2 minus the obvious things that needed addressing, but some things are just rather frustrating. Not saying it should be easy at all, but some stuff just doesn't make sense and still doesn't IMHO. Constantly hearing streamers say that they're going for realism, but there really is nothing close to realistic about the experience lol. It's a brutal unforgiving game and the second really puts on the pressure that everything is against you twice as much.

Its loads of fun, but i kinda wish you couldn't farm the Ukrainian job and the night club. since that's all the good players do now.

Are there any go-to class builds that people are defaulting to right now?

Not really, well getting c4 is best way to speed run stuff.( you can do the Ukrainian job in under 35 sec if you are really fast and have 2 people with c4) but other than that not really.

i personaly am going enforcer for the saw. then ill be getting all the speed/ bag interaction speed upgrades. then ill dump the rest of my points into enforcer so i can get more ammo. Since the saw runs out fast and it takes up your primary weapon slot.

The saw is pretty nice. Unfortunately it takes basically all your skill points up to level 35 or so to get it. Leveling beyond 30 gets pretty slow.

its not bad if you speed run stuff. i got to lvl 47 in about 10-14 hours of play time. but if i was speed running every thing you could do it in probably 6 hour or maybe a bit less. i think i went from 37-47 in about 2-3 hours

A. pro Ukrainian job on overkill gives you over 20k xp in about 30-56 sec of play time.

If you have even just 1 person with c4, Ukrainian Job is silly amounts of money, exp, and cards. A pro overkill will net you like 20k exp, $75k, and a card for about 40 seconds of play time.

I did a solo Ukrainian Job (pro+hard IIRC) yesterday, and I didn't even level from 9->10. Drilling the safes takes like 4 minutes. Being solo getting anything more than the tiara doesn't really work IMO. Do you get more XP if you get more loot out? The money was ok, I was just a bit disappointed with the XP given the hype.

Not what I want to do over and over again.

Bonus disappointment: Shot out the lights in the safe house room where you can train on doors (lock picking and whatever), and realized they're using fake lights (baked?) in there.

Just did some speed runs of Ukranian Job and Nightclub with some cool dudes, one of whom had C4. Managed to get the ultimate armor! Pretty damn nice.

Basically for speed runs on Ukranian Job and Nightclub you HAVE to have someone with C4 to blow the safes. Otherwise it's not possible to get in and get out before the car leaves (in the case of Ukranian Job). With Nightclub I brought the saw to get through the first door and that helped as well.

Also you want to definitely do Overkill difficulty to get the max XP. Doing them on normal or Hard won't really be worthwhile unless you are a super low level (even then it's questionable). Probably the best way to level is to get in a game with some 35+ guys and just sit back and let them do the work on an Overkill mission.

Only issue is that Crime.Net prevents you from farming too fast. I can kind of see why the did it, but at the same time I would much prefer just being able to choose the mission. Plus it's annoying as fuck trying to get into a random game when half the time it either gets full as you click it or times out for no reason. I think they are having server problems as well, since I have been randomly disconnected from games several times, only to be able to hop right back in.

You can troll the system by starting a job and just terminating it right away I think.

I did a framing frame on pro/overkill and this guy stealthed it for us, honestly that wasn't worth it. Only about 900k payout is quite iffy for the risk you get doing that, I find rats was easier on pro overkill with all 7 bags :p

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO. logged into payday today on was going to try and get 3 more lvls to get to 50 and guess what...... lvl 1

it needs to be on overkill for good xp. you prob would og gone from 9 to 11 on overkill but you prob also youldnt even see the overkill version at lvl 9.

every mission on overkill gives atleast 14k xp just for the difficulty rating not counting other xp bonuses like from mastermind skill or other things when its all said and done it should be around 20k+ xp

Played like an hour with a group of 50+ and went from level 11 /w no money to level 25 with 500K to spend.

"Stay by the car"

Me and some other randoms did that to some guy last night. Basically sit there we will be in and out. He was gaining 2 lvls every job at the beginning as we were farming nightclub and ukranian job.

I'm trying to save up money to fill the safe :p

Lets see you what you guys with the big bucks have. Here's my 6.1million in the safe.

Is it enough with one point in each skill to unlock the tier bonus? It must be, right?

no its not, you will need to ace some skills too, to advance to the next tier

To advance up the tree yes, but I assume the tier bonus pertains to having all three skills on that level. Else the UI is super confusing.
