Fair point, but not everyone is looking to run Linux full time and people do experiment. And it's not like people like that aren't looking got help, but no, they aren't hardcore Linux fans and when you see people constantly praise how easy it is to setup and use Linux, issues that take time and research and dealing with various attitudes, again, some people just do it for their experimental purposes and when they say "Hey, here's an issue" and it is a real issue, well there are other things to do besides experiment with desktop Linux.
Different people will see it different ways and that's driven by individual wants and needs. I do a lot of different things with my PCs and it's not that I'm looking for a Windows clone but I'm not that interested in something that doesn't handle things I need and want on my PCs that Windows does well. Most people are interested in tossing out everything that works for something that may have it's own strengths but requires tons of time, not just dealing with the OS but applications as well.
For some it's not a big deal. For others that's a HUGE effort and no amount of help will make it simple or even practical.
In my experience on a considerable number of machines, it's no harder to install/setup than Windows. The odd thing here is that as a user of everything I'll be classed as somehow exaggerating while the prominently Windows user usually gets praised as posting facts even though it's obvious that you encounter frustrating problems from time to time under all operating systems - Furthermore, their comments are classed as fact for no reason other than the fact that they're predominantly a Windows user - The logic is backwards.
