Heh, you might as well wait until we see what Bulldozer will be able to do. So long as BD overclocks well, things could get interesting with the 8 core version. Right now, i'm hoping i'll have some spare funds by the time BD launches as i've been waiting for it for a very long time.

I would love to see it play out that way.. its been far too long since I've had any AMD products in my personal rigs... despite my username :(

oh I will be getting a BD.... don't worry...
but if the D0 ES that I sent jebo works... I will be putting its twin to work...

X58 boards and me didn't get along...

I went from a pent 166(oced to 200) kindom computers
to cele 500 custom rebuild got for free from a computer client...
to my first build... sempron 754 1.6ghz oced to 2.2
then... after I had been working for 6mo I found an e6400 es in scrap... used it for a budget build...oced to 3.2...
then Q6600 based rig
then as a backup rig... for ~$300 an ebay rig... fx62 790fx mobo + 3 4850s and 500w psu...yeah alot for a lil...
then sold those parts swapped the fx for an athlon then for an athlon II x4 620...
then an i7 to replace my main... lost two x58 boards before I overclocked...
amd released x6... I said to hell with intel... got a crosshair IV and my 1055t oced it to 4 on water... had issues with cards in the loop... its on air 3.5 and the 5970s on water...

and I wait for BD for my main rig... but if I have a working sandy sample...why the heck not... (Q6600 I got for $100, i7s were es) all amd were ebay or new :)

Tell me about it. I am the biggest AMD fan here(except possibly that JF-AMD guy I see in the AMD forums) and even I am running a Bloomfield and Gulftown in my two folding rigs. I considered a Thuban in folding2, but it just didn't make sense since they can't do bigadv despite us proving(by running Wine in Linux) that they are more than capable.

You bastard........

And i thought you were going to hold out for BD :(

At least SirMonkey is still solidly in the AMD camp.............for now...........

i still am, as i said in the last thread you said the same thing in :D I just need a data server online, and want it to be a power house, no BD yet means i cant go AMD

I realized my only 1155 mobo is an H67, which won't overclock. I'm not sure if there's any way for me to determine if the multi is unlocked on an ES or not.

So, I put my X38 setup back up for sale, and I am in the market for a P67 board. Microcenter said they got 5 p67 boards in yesterday and sold out immediately. Newegg has a Biostar board available, and if I get a buyer for my X38 setup I will probably order that one right away.

wonder if there is a local shop that would let you see... in the market for a p67 board if this chip is unlocked might work...
eitherway... if it works in your board I am gonna get a p67 cause thats whats available...

microcenter did have an asus H67 board in stock.

I don't have any other local shops AFAIK.

return policy :rolleyes:
I only need one sandy... if it works its yours... I will use its twin thats sitting on my desk...

said sand should arrive in mail tomorrow... nubs delayed it...
i7 should make its way to Lord of doors tomorrow as well...

If you happen across any more cpu's in need of homes, I would only need to buy a mobo to have an extra boxen online... :)

I had made a listing on another thread about cpus I had that were es in need of caring home
i7s ... the stable ones would be 2.4ghz 32nm and 2.26ghz 45nm ...both 1366 quads with ht...
I am done with x58 boards... but after I rma my p6tse I will be putting it up for sale...

I didn't even know they made 32nm 1366 quads, I would definitely be interested in seeing how high I can get that clocked and folding!

back on sandy..... its out for delivery

still no mobos i'm liking yet......come on asus put them on the dam shelves

The latest 0605 bios has made the ASUS P8P67-M Pro servicable if you need MATX. If not I know Filter has had great success with his WS Revolution. The EVGA P67 looked pretty attractive too.

I somehow don't feel like buying an evga board to fold with...
Really hope sapphire makes a new dual socket board...

Got a MSI P67A-GD65 and i7-2600K on the way from newegg.com. Will try to post some results on it when it arrives.

I'm gonna try. The weekend is a bit hectic and I gotta tear down my X38 system and get it shipped off.

I want to see numbers with 4GB of the RipjawsX 2300mhz CL7 ram Gskill is releasing.

I got Patriot's prototype in.

CPU cores work. GPU core doesn't. It's running a tad warm though, heh.

What are you running for a heatsink? I wonder if the temp sensors are broken or if the IHS is just really uneven or has poor contact with the chip die. Can you de-lid these newer intel chips?
