I played a bit last night. It seems like...another Horizon game? Graphics are good, gameplay wise it feels about the same as 4 to me. I forgot what assists I used to use (or didn't use)...
 
I just can't bring myself to get this yet. I haven't read or watched anything that wows me. I have 4 and 5 and got bored with them way too quick.

Do you guys restart the race if it's clear that you're not going to come in 1st place? Or do you just accept your fate and move on? I've been restarting the race but I've come to realize that it's basically equivalent to save scumming, and maybe that takes some of the fun out of it.

I just don't lose races, no need for restarting.

I thought that was normal? I did that with tony hawk too, or anything like that. If the run isn't good enough, there's no point in sitting through all the end race stuff to run it again when there's a restart race option right there.

I loved the early Grid and Dirt games, haven't really played much racing since

What is the point of having roads if you can just drive anywhere and through anything with no consequences? (Except for cherry trees cuz muh virtue signal)

I do. I want racing games to respect car culture and the lifestyle of driving unobtainable cars, and I want to look cool doing it. TDU understood this, that's why it was so successful and good. Even the creators of solar crown failed to get what made TDU irreplaceable.

The world is open only during exploration mode. During races, you're often walled in and you have to drive through checkpoints.

Is anyone else having issues with the PC version, like why does the Xbox Series X run this so much better? I find myself going to the Xbox because the performance is just a stuttering mess even though I'm in the 60-80 fps range the entire time.

I have the same issue but I thought it was because I was running an Nvidia card on linux. I know there is a confirmed Nvidia linux driver bug that causes the game to crash if any sort of ray tracing is used. I was hoping this would go away with a future driver update but maybe not. I haven't messed with any individual graphic settings, I just enabled the high preset which is still has this issue but I don't notice it as much.

It also gives you all future DLC. It isn't just the early access.
This is not entirely true. It does not include future car packs. I would also guess that if there are expansions past 1 & 2 that they would not be included either.

Side note that I absolutely hate what games have become. "Car pass", "VIP pass", "Car packs", "Expansions". It's like they design this shit to be confusing as possible and make you dig through a bunch of pages to figure out what the hell you are actually getting. Steam does have a nice diagram that somewhat helps but I still don't see anywhere on the page that mentions what the car pass actually is. Maybe it's a skill issue on my part.

I really should stop buying games that pull this crap but I'm a sucker. Remember when DLC used to be a free mod you downloaded for a game you purchased instead of a business model? Sigh.
 
They did a good job with traffic density. It doesn't get dense enough that it becomes a hindrance and unfun, but it gets just dense enough on the highway and in the city to require some fun evasive maneuvers.

I think this tops FH2 as my favorite in the series right now after 6'ish hours.

I was kind of confused with the paper trees at first, too, since the previous game never did that. I guess it's to encourage more freeform exploration. You can't just cut routes during races though because of the checkpoint system.

No idea about the Gundam thing. I am not there yet. But it's one of those cheap things to get games and social media talking. It's like giving your game an old animation style (hello, Mouse PI for Hire...).

No idea, but neither of the 3 body types are female, I can tell you that much. I just used all the default options because I don't give a shit.

Controller, but since this is based on the FM'23 engine, cars have the same issue of starting to slide if you're hard on the brakes, and they won't stop. This is with no ABS and simulation steering. Oddly enough, the only car I've used so far where this has been a big issue is the Miata, when it kept getting worse with faster cars in FM'23.

No. Rig in sig runs it just fine on the last GeForce Ready driver (not the newest one). Using DLSS Quality with all the ray tracing options turned to their highest settings.
 
Guy in produce was playing this game and his computer died. He thinks just the switch on his case went bad.

Yeah, even at medium it's still stutters at 200 FPS.

And that's one of the reasons I went all AMD since that's what the consoles are using. Good to know. One thing I found was using an my old Project Scorpio controller over bluetooth would absolutely tank things down to 20 FPS, so I went wired to resolve the bluetooth issue.

The bluetooth issue is a windows issue.

Have you disabled Smart Access Memory/ReBAR?
 
Game just did a 1.3 GB update for me and now it crashes right after the intro videos. 🙄
 
I tried reinstalling Game Services, starting Xbox services, checking Steam files...nothing. Just dies after the few logo videos. Worked fine the other day.

I guess people who paid top dollar for early access get to be beta testers.

Try DDU and reinstalling the video card driver. That worked for me when FM7 & FM'23 were giving me the same issue.
 
Just read that there are cars you can only obtain through wheelspins. The fuck are we doing? Is this because of them bringing the auction house back, to create artificial scarcity?
