Forza Horizon 6

It's this one finally going to have proper wheel support? FH4 was kinda shit in that regard, and I didn't buy FH5.
The first 3 Horizon games had decent wheel support. For some reason the current version of the engine has never had good wheel support including in the Motorsport series.

Is there no subsurface scattering on the asphalt? Why is it so shiny and bright? I haven't seen that issue since Forza Horizon 2 and Forza Motorsport 2.
probably RT, its one of the reasons i hate it (in most cases) it make everything look too wet and shiny

That's still an issue on their design because that happens when the surface properties are set incorrectly.

That's a very weird gameplay footage. Not a single tire skreech during that entire video, not a single hint of the car ever trying to step out. And that's a saleen notorious for having no traction control. This makes me very concerned that the physics will be non-existent.

It seemed like they were driving it really safe, but yeah...if anything it was just kind of boring.

They were going from full throttle to zero throttle mid corner multiple times and the car remains fully planted. Not a hint of oversteer. I suspect this is another game "not made for me".

I can assure you with 125% certainty that its the same game being recycled. They didnt make any physics changes. The car had traction control on and it kicked in several times. There is no indicator of throttle input in the video so you dont know.

Recycled or enshittified? I guess it's the latter, as FH5 was too enshittified for me already, I liked FH4 so I'd hope this is closer to that. How do you know traction control kicked in? Was there an indicator on screen? Not that traction control would save you from lift-off oversteer. The sound was a pretty good indicator of the throttle inputs, but the car didn't seem care. I'd call it a slot car racer but even slotcars can fishtail.

if you want a sim, go play a sim, this is an arcade racer.

Recycled just like i said. There really hasnt been any enshitification in FH3-FH5. This is going to be like 4 and 5. Same shit, changed UI, different map. Yes there is a TCS indicator in the tachometer. You cannot judge throttle input based off sound lol. It was a scripted nice easy drive with traffic cut WAY down.

I yearn for something like the original Test Drive Unlimited. Anybody recall how difficult the S7 was to drive in that game?

Yawn..

I want an arcade racer with career mode and progression with quasi-realistic physics. This is not a new concept Gran Turismo was released in 1998 and is one of the most successful racing game franchises. Need For Speed PU, TDU also did something similar and they are some of the most highly regarded driving games. So don't give me this nonsense.

The tone shifted from a more mature car culture to gen z street takeover nonsense style. That qualifies for me.

I did not catch that, but as mentioned TCS wouldn't help lift off oversteer.

Well, not if the sound design is bad, but otherwise engines sound different depending on load.

The only easy bit in it was that they sometimes decided to coast, but they were hitting 150+ mph, and pulling some very aggressive corners without a single tire chirp

motorsport.
Horizon has better physics than motorsport. Somehow MS (or whoever is in charge of developing that series) has managed to make cars more difficult to drive while also making them behave less realistically. To be able to play motorport you need to forget everything you know and expect of driving and handling and le-learn something else from scratch. GT7 did something similar, just not to the same degree, plus they corrected it (mostly) in patches.

Experience Japan with Ray Tracing in Forza Horizon 6 on PC

Watched quite a few videos today and i have to say the sounds have improved greatly. The map layout is quite the letdown but i kinda expected it. However there are some sick views in this game and its nice to get the verticality back after the flat desert with a volcano. Night time is pretty stellar and so are sunrises and sunsets in places.

"World famous routes inspired by the C1 loop and Gingko Avenue, as well as mountain passes, such as Mt. Haruna and Bandai Azuma.
From the downtown streets of Tokyo City, through the rural farmland, drift-inviting mountain roads, to the snowy Japanese Alps."

When i read the review article i posted they mentioned that the handling had went more arcade and had mentioned that the AWD cars specifically feel like they have more front grip. I thought this was odd as currently i feel like AWD cars in this game dont have enough grip and the front washes out to easy. A few other videos talked about this stating AWD was reworked and now feels like it should.

DJS did a phenomenal video

This is a pretty good one that shows alot. Tons of nice night driving to and the C1 loop.
