Forza 3... Who's Getting It?


Car list updated along with track layouts for the remade Fujimi Kaido track.
 
do you have one? how does the sfifter work? do you have to engage the clutch to shift or is it software emulated like the g25/g27? I always hated that with my g25 since in a real car it doesn't let you shift gears unless you force it and grind gears, but in the g25 the shifter is free to go wherever you want, but the game just says its in neutral
 
Not yet. I'm hoping it'll be here before Forza is... but who knows as I ordered it quite late. =/

Turn 10 said they couldn't get it to work. They said their hand animations were very buggy, and the hand/fingers would go through the steering wheel as it reached for the shifter. What you said about being late is true for every game though. The game can't shift until you shift. The animation is always delayed.

My biggest gripe with the demo is that you can't change the controls. I've been using the same control scheme with pretty much every racing game (X to downshift, Y to upshift, A to look back) and there's no controls options in the game...I mean come on!

But you can in the final game, as you could in FM2.

Hence why I said my gripe with the Demo!

Unless they've done something drastic I highly doubt you'll be able to look around whilst using the MS wheel.
 
Yeah, I wish they'd put an analog stick in place of the D pad, but I guess the pad has it's uses.
 
i am loving forza 2. its fun and very easy to drive compared to other sim games. fora 3 im going to enjoy a hell of a lot as well. cant wait. 8 player grid doesnt bother me that much now when i play with my mates because we share a similar skill level and can compete across the track and not play bumper cars
 
Stupid question, If i pre-order the limited edition online with gamestop will it be shipped to me so it will arive on the 27th, or will it be shipped out on the 27th itself?

I'm not familiar with the available shipping options from GameStop, but if they offer release date delivery then they can ship it early and it gets delivered to your house the day of release. I know amazon.com offers the option, since I did it with ODST, but I'm not sure about GameStop. They should have it somewhere on the site, if they have it.
 
Gamestop doesn't have it. It will ship the 27th.


I know because I was looking for that option when I pre-ordered mine.

no clutch pedal on the MS wheel setup makes that a pretty significant fail for the type of people that would even think about dropping that much coin on a video game controller/seat.....now...if it had a good rep (the wheel) and it had a clutch pedal, and the game allowed for variable clutch response.....then MAYBE it would be worth it...

Which is why you buy the superior, Fanatec Porsche Turbo S wheel, which has good reviews, built solid with a real Porsche steering wheel, clutch pedal and allows for variable clutch response (like the game does). BAM.

does forza3 actually support variable clutch support? havent seen this confirmed or denied yet

In the demo, there is an option for clutch under manual transmission. The steering wheel was also made in cooperation with the Forza 3 game.
